I have a thing for older phones. I have a Treo 650 (only because my 8525 bit the dust) and I have a SLVR as a second line. I change phones often, but this one may be a keeper! I've tried the SLVR of Sprint and Verizon (there was a brief time when I had both companies last year), and they are neutered as ---- {i.e. 15 second videos, NO Bluetooth OBEX (object exchange), no Java, etc...}! This is much better, and even better than it's precessor (sp?), the El ROKR.<br /><br />Pros:<br />Camera/video is decent enough.<br />Strong signal everywhere. <br />It's not a flip, slider or swivel phone. It's a bar phone, which I like.<br />Thin, yet can take a fall. <br />Came with 512 MB card, data cable, etc...<br /><br /><br />Cons (Not major, but still sucks).<br />It only takes mp3 format &amp; iTunes. I have a crapload of WMA files on one of my memory cards that are useless. <br />Headphones and charger share the same port, unlike the ROKR<br />It doesn't change colors like the ROKR.<br />MY 2GB won't work in it (it could be me, though.) <br /><br /><br />Great medium phone. It's better than a lot of these modern ones. For the average person this fon doesn't leave you wanting or needing anything else. <br /><br />I am the average t-shirt and jean guy who talks and texts and checks his favorite scores via the INTERNET connection on the fon when Im not in front of the TV watching the game or games in question.<br /><br />The suggestive text helps me get those one liners out there when I need and has no problem sending multiple pages when I let the girlfriend really know how I feel. <br /><br />Call quality has been great, even though I bought this fon off eBay and it was meant for Germany, the quad band (world fon) aspect hasn't let me down yet and I've had it for almost a year and a half. The phone would display 'calling...' and never connect. This happened while driving through heavily populated ChicagoLand, so it's not busy towers or lack of signal at all. The phone would also freeze up, not responding to any commands. Taking out the battery every other day or so was not an acceptable resolution.<br />There is a menu to program your own ring songs, but the legend doesn't jive. I loved it. It had a beautiful screen and excellent features. This phone introduced me to iTunes. Overall, it was a great phone until I was having some issues with call quality and it was suggested that I exchange it. I did and regretted it. I exchanged it a total of 4 times in 3 weeks. Each time I got one, it had a new problem. They even sent me a BRAND NEW one and it had a major software issue that could not be fixed.
