Without fail, Great reception until the "lovely" people at Cingular decided to dismantle a perfectly good viable network.<br /><br />PROs<br />Good shape, feel, weight and layout of keys; easy to read (no clutter).<br />Easy connectivity (Cable or Irda) w/Computer for backup/sync. The other stuff is cool, but if I can't use it as a phone, it is no good. I mean, I have a mp3 player, a camera, and don't want to spend the money on all that other stuff. <br /><br />I did not have much in the way of choices when picking phones in May, 2003, but glad I went with this one. It was a good phone overall and while I liked the extra stuff better on my Kyo 2255 (bad phone phone, though), this was not a bad one.<br /><br />Pros:<br />Sturdy<br />Easy to use<br />Good reception<br />Voice quality good<br />Big display (back then)<br />Keys were good sized<br /><br />Cons:<br />This was only my second phone, so there was a lot to compare with just the Kyo.<br />I had to lock the keys all the time. On the kyo, it did it automatically in 30 secs. <br />Battery life really decreses in one year, but they told me to expect that.<br />No speakerphone.<br />Hard to turn on and off.<br /><br />There are other things, but since this phone is long been disco'd good luck finding a new one. I was very hard on cell phones back then.<br />> Has a great car kit <br />> Great reception and very few dropped calls<br />> Great date planner &amp; alarm<br />> Nokia provided software on their site for PC sync and worked very well with Outlook and Contacts.<br /><br />Cons:<br />> Not crazy about the ear bud for the phone. Only takes a Nokia headset that sounds like constant scratching, GREEN backlight (YUCK!), very few features.<br /><br />I started w/a Motorola 120t so I got used to many different features. I broke the Motorola so my sister gave me her old Nokia 6360. It's very durable for me dropping it and treating it poorly. While it has some GREAT features - the address book capacity and ease of use for example - I have had more troubles with this phone than I'd like considering how expensive this phone was (still is).<br /><br />The biggest complaint I've had to date is re: sound quality &amp; reception. <br /><br />Often, I can't hear the person at the other end well and must turn the volume all the way up (with &amp; without a head set).<br /><br />At other times the person at the other end is so loud that I have to turn the volume all the way down to one bar.<br /><br />Worse still is that often I can't hear the person at the other end whatsoever, but they can hear me just fine. This occurs at least once during *every* phone call I make. Very frustrating! To rectify this problem, I either have to hang up and re-dial or I have to wait for the call to drop so that AT&amp;T doesn't get more $$ for a new connection.<br /><br />Reception is not always great inside of buildings, but this has varied widely depending on where I am inside a building, architectural features such as windows or columns, interference from other electronic devices, etc.<br /><br />Dropped calls have also been a major problem. I suspect however that this has more to do with AT&amp;T Wireless having the most "dead zones" of any other carrier in the Los Angeles area.<br /><br />I've since ordered a Nokia 3595 GSM phone and am looking forward to trying it to see if I have more/less problems than I've had with the 6360. I used this phone for a period of about 10 months until it met up with a night in the jacuzzi. No I did not drop it in, but the steam must have made its way inside because by the end of a long call I could not get the phone to hang up, it had breathed it's last. While having the phone however it had great reception in Orange County California using AT&amp;T. Volume, screen, brightness, and buttons all worked terrifically. My only complaint, only five "groups" for ring tones, meaning only five different tones for different callers. <br /><br />One added benefit to this phone is the antenna connection on the back, I purchased a portable antenna that increased the signal strength when I went to the mountains around Big Bear. There is no way to keep the backlight on constantly. I find that irritating, especially driving down the road at night. (Yes - I know - I shouldn't be driving &amp; using cell phone - thanks for the lecture.)<br /><br />2. Even if I could keep the backlight on at all times, I wonder if it would really matter. The backlighting for the keypad is not very effective, although it seems fine for the LCD panel.<br /><br />3. The bland color leaves a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, no simple snap-on covers are available for this phone.<br /><br />4. It is a royal pain to turn the phone on and off. The puny power button imbedded at the top of the phone is a bad joke.<br /><br />5. Why on earth is Nokia determined to use the horrible plug interface for the earphone? Why not provide a universal mini-type plug? It is far from user friendly. I hate really hate it.<br /><br />6. There is no option for a security code when turning on the phone. That's downright stupid.<br /><br />The phone isn't all terrible. I have found it to be dependable, it is solidly built, it has acceptable battery life, great reception, it's light, and has many nice features. The phone book is large, and each entry can be assigned multiple numbers.
