ajmanz submitted this review of the BlackBerry 7520:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

I absolutely love the 7520. I had the 7100i before the 7520 but it broke when it fell out of my holster. The durability of the 7520 is far better then the 7100i. It is a shame Nextel does not sell the 7520 anymore because I feel it is the best quality BlackBerry for Nextel. The 7100i is good because of the size but other then that it is a poor quality device. I would recommend the 7520 to anyone interested in a BB from Nextel. You can find the 7520's on eBay for under a $100.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

lotr103 submitted this review of the BlackBerry 7520:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

This device is incredible. I previously had the i560. I decided to get a blackberry :) The signal and call quality was better then any other nextel phone i had. The only problem i had with this was due to nextel's network.... sadly enough at my work i think there's something wrong with nextel's tower. I can send e-mail but not receive it. This all clears up when i get home, or on my drive home. I would recommend the blackberry 7520 to anyone.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Good business phone to have. All I had to do was slip my Boost sim card in, rest the radio setup and use it. Nice :) Definitely would recommend this phone to anyone. It's speakers are loud, awesome display screen with 2 lightings, Awesome PDA features and more. I will have 2 phones soon. I'm gonna buy that cheap i415 phone for out use, because it's made stronger and I don't want to mess up my 7520 :)

Bottom Line... Great for personal and business use. It depends on the person.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I have my 3rd model 7520 in 13 months. The first two died. The third one refuses to work correctly. I spent about 12 hours last week with Blackberry support trying to get the 3rd one to work. One of our secretaries managed to make it do most things. Today was the last straw. I spent 110 minutes with level I and level II Blackberry support. They could not resolve le problème du jour which is the ability to transfer Contacts from Outlook to the Blackberry. Funny, it was doing that automatically. Then, with same computer and blackberry, it simply stopped. Blackberry support bumbled their way to nowhere. I've sent the Blackberry to my corporate office and requested a Treo.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I have had the Sprint Treo for awhile, and it made me sick. Although I never liked Bar Phones this one is great. The internet is very useful and is user friendly. You have to be very phone savy to be able to function in the PDA world. I put all of my contacts email address, home and work numbers in this phone. Not only is this phone ready for the future, but it is ready for that individual who has a very hectic schedule. Nextel keep up the good work.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Mark_A_L submitted this review of the BlackBerry 7520:

Overall rating: 1 (out of 5)

Having never used a Blackberry, Treo or anything like this before, I like the email, calendar, and contacts ease...

However, I think the PHONE STINKS. First, I seem to have a signal only 1/3 of the time I need to make a call (I live in Atlanta; there should never be a problem with this EVER). Second, everyone who calls me says they can rarely get through to me... Nextel recording says "I'm unavailable" and doesn't even direct caller to my personal voicemail. Third, every call I recieve says "unknown number," even if they are on my contacts and SIM Phone list.

In conclusion, I think the Blackberry works well, but Nextel stinks. I had Verizon for 4 years prior and rarely ever had problems. If my employer didn't make me have a Nextel Blackberry, I'd be on Verizon in a heartbeat!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

The keyboard. I like to have the one letter to one key not two. The email was weird to set up at first but after one day it is user friendly. Would reccomend it to anyone over the7100.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

painter submitted this review of the BlackBerry 7520:

Overall rating: 1.5 (out of 5)

I have used my 7520 for about ten months and feel compelled to send in my comments. The email part of the phone works very well. I am always in touch instantly. My complaint however is with the cell phone part of the 7520. In my opinion the R.I.M. phone design is very poor. I cannot count the # of times I disconnected an incoming call because I pulled it out of the carrying case and bumped the scroll wheel. The placement of the thumb-wheel / scroll-wheel and the button just below it are very poorly positioned. I find it hard to believe that the R.I.M. design engineers think this would not be a major problem. I am currently researching other phones and will be giving up my 7520. I cannot tolerate the problems I have with this phone any longer. For those of you interested in purchasing a Blackberry 7520 I suggest you ask "anyone" who has one if he / she has problems with the thumb-wheel and disconnecting phone calls. I will bet that 90%+ will say yes. R.I.M. should take the design engineers outside and smack them all for incompetence.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

MikeCallery submitted this review of the BlackBerry 7520:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

I think if I was given the choice of a Pocket PC device, especially the new version coming out, or the Blackberry, I'd likely choose a Pocket PC due to familiarity with Microsoft Products, especially Outlook.

With that said, and being that Nextel does not have a Pocket PC device, I find the Blackberry relatively straightforward, easy to use and very, very functional.

If you are looking for a phone which can carry your contact into, calendar, to do, this unit will work fine. If you are looking for mobile Outlook which also happens to be a phone, I'd lean towards the Pocket PC. It's a matter of your priorities.

I've had it now, just outside of New Orleans, LA., for about a week and have had no dropped calls and no problems, lockups, etc. It's running the latest software, which nicely enough I installed from the website. My webclient is working fine, sending mail as I require from three different email sites.

Can there be improvements, sure. I'd love to see a few shortcut keys (programmable), like F1 to F10 across the top for quick access to certain features/functions. I would love to see a cradle/charger combo for it to sit in, but everything has pros and cons and nothing here is critical.

It does a good job for what it is designed and I'm quite pleased with my purchase.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Select it and click on the wheel. For some reason this is completely diffrent then the other google. It will look just like google on your computer just type in your search and your on. I've not found one site I could not look at just like I could on my desk top. Good luck.
if you have any questions email me
thomsrq@comcast.net

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I have a few issues with this phone....after using the blackberry for tmobile this phone doesn't even come close.

Pros.
Great speaker
Loud crisp conv
Great Email and Organizer
Bluetooth
Display

Cons.
1.When placing a call walkie talkie you need to move the speaker up and down a little to get it to work normaly.
2.No shortcuts for locking keypad
3.No end and send buttons like tmobiles edition
4.cant dial from phone book
5.Drops calls more often than my i860, and i830
6.Shortcuts are limited on this phone you need to use the side buttons for everything.
7. THE BIGGEST COMPLAINT IS THAT IF YOU PAY $199 FOR UNLIMITED PLAN YOU NEED TO STILL PURCHASE $35 DATA PLAN TO USE THE BLACKBERRY WHEN DATA SERVICE IS INCLUDED IN SUCH A PLAN.
WHAT A RIP OFF

Over all its a good phone for business users who need email and stay organized. If you have tmobile or are thinking of switching and don't really need the walkie get the blackberry for tmobile.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

russellmbrown submitted this review of the BlackBerry 7520:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

Pro: Everything you need for business planning at you fingertips in one tool, easy to learn and use.

Con: Can't figure out how to make non-completed tasks automatically fwd to next day.

I am a recovering Palm user and can't believe I waited this long to upgrade. Not that the Palm PDA was a bad product - Blackberry is just that good! The menu is accessed by a small "trackwheel" on the right side of the unit that is moved by the thumb. Lefties beware - you will need to use you right hand!

All menu functions are intuitive. I have an old Jabra Bluetooth ear piece (BT200) that is meant to fit non-Bluetooth phones - charger plugs into the jack. However, I don't need to plug it into the BB 7520 - I just paired the ear piece with the phone and it works perfectly! Sound quality and reception is great with or without the Bluetooth earpiece. Contrary to other reviewers' comments, the Nextel Direct Connect function works well with the Bluetooth except that the ear piece times out after 4-5 seconds. But you can still hear through the speaker.

I was worried about the larger size of the unit as compared to my old cell phone (Nextel i60) but it only took a day or so to get used to it.

I figured out a great way to mount the unit on my dash board without buying another aftermarket mount. Radio Shack carries a heavy duty velcro-like fastener, like the kind that comes with the windshield mounted turnpike toll transponders - EZpass, or Ipass. You can stick the desk stand cradle that comes with the unit on you dash and put your phone in it. It holds the unit pretty securely and allows you to see who's calling without taking your eyes off the road.

All in all, the most useful piece of technology I have ever invested in.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

artaid submitted this review of the BlackBerry 7520:

Overall rating: 1 (out of 5)

The phone is a beauty, it is great for getting emails. But that's all she wrote for MAC users. Otherwise it is pretty useless. Maybe it is NEXTEL's fault?

It took days of research to find recently released 3rd party to even get it to synch data over the USB cable, but that is not bundled with the device, which I have not had any success getting to sync with my MAC.

And forget about bluetooth...that's only good for the headset, won't work for data synch or modem.
AND it simply will NOT work as a wireless modem with my MAC, which would be a saving grace, since I cannot us the 7520 to browse the internet with any success except for seeing the first couple lines of text on a small percentage of sites. Most pages won't load at all. IT SIMPLY DOES NOT SEE HTML, even though I have the $100 monthly unlimited plan.

I can get a $50 phone and plan from Sprint that will do this in a snap. I thought the Blackberry would do at least this...

So what good is it to a MAC user.. it's just another expensive gadget and slavery to crappy technology.

I can use a $20 device if all I need is to check my email

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

jackies35 submitted this review of the BlackBerry 7520:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

I am hooked! This phone, 7520, is the bomb! I love it. I get all, all of my emails from 4 different accounts (through Berry Web Client) with easy!! I don't have to worry if I checked my email or which email I didn't check.... This is God sent...

It fits my personality straight through... It was a breeze to setup the web client. I am coming from the fancy i730 and i860 with tons of ringtones (mp3s, and wallpaper). So, when I notice the ring tones were low and limited, I frowned for only 2 seconds (ha hahah). Then, I went straight on the web and start surfing....

Nextel gives great customer service like mentioned before. So, I didn't have to call them at all... The screen is very bright and beautiful (even when I am outside). Three great options on the light level!! The lighting could be a little annoying and searching for the button could be challenging... The ESC key, is another thing... I hang up on all my

calls. hahah..ahah.

Again a great thing is the direct connect and the speakerphone is awesome and needed! Thank you Nextel and BlackBerry... haha...

The Battery life seems about 1 1/2 days with heavy usage but I only use it for about 55 minutes then, it starts going down.... I guess the screen light, the icons, and everything else, drains the battery. I hope RIM or NEXTEL get a longer (battery-time) battery... I think it should be about 6 hours of talk-time and 6 days on standby (haahhaha.. boy do I wish! )

Bluetooth/Gps/BES --> Didn't get to try these yet...

FOR 50.00-Bucks! You can't beat this!

Overall, it's "popping"... It's my little BLACKBABY!!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Just think the price on this unit is $149.00 thats a deal and with the antenna it gets exceptional reception.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

USA_CA submitted this review of the BlackBerry 7520:

Overall rating: 2.5 (out of 5)

My blue-berry finally hit a puddle of water, and off to Nextel I went for the 7520. It really is a Blackberry now with it's macho black case. I can actually hold it in public now without giggles from on-lookers refering to the blue color.
OK, seriously, though, they almost got it right. Key spacing is better. Two stage backlighting, very nice, escpecially if you work in the dark alot like I do. I can even actually find the light button now without looking at the phone. Setup is easy. Email flows without a glitch. Bluetooth is great with a wireless headset - it even works in direct-connect mode with the headset!
What I am really waiting for though is for Nextel to take a step forward and designate a new model, let's say the 7530, that will look and feel like the Blackberry 7730 (larger display, not quite as wide as the 7520, which would make it pocket friendly.)
I would even like to see a camera, maybe even active GPS directions. Yes, I want everything.
Come on Nextel, as a 11-year customer, I'm waiting, it's 7230 time!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
