robbby submitted this review of the Samsung SGH-P207:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

i had this phone for a year and a half when i had cingular. it was a great phone and i can only think of a few cons

to get the cons out of the way--
- lack of a speaker phone
- the default ring tones
- when you set your own picture as the background, it only takes up half the screen
- no option to change interior screen picture

pros:
- sleek and shiny-- looks so cool and amazing
- great reception
- aim works well on the phone
- menu layout is nice
- camera is decent
- speech-to-text feature
- holds a decent amount of texts
- battery life is great
- time on the external display
- service light- you can change the colors
- default games

this is a great phone that looks so nice. its looks are the main attraction. even though theres a few things missing, its still a great phone and i highly recommend it

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Aside from the fact that the side button for the camera would go off in my pocket ALL THE TIME and did not have an option to turn off the shutter sound, the phone was extremely cute and well made. That one aspect of it really didn't sit well with me, as my picture gallery filled up with blanks and it became annoying to try to delete all of them. The absence of speaker-phone was also annoying.

My service with AT&T is what drew me away from the phone, not really the phone itself. Cingular/AT&T was not my favorite service provider. I live in Columbia, Maryland and my Cingular service was horrible, to make it short and to the point. It would take me an attempt of THREE tries to call people sometimes. I don't know if it was the phone or the carrier but that really got under my skin. I got my calls dropped all the time and also lost service frequently. I missed calls from important people because I didn't have service and it went straight to voice-mail. ANNOYING!

The technology for the phone now is pretty out-dated but it's still sleeker and more compact than some other newer phones.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

empireinc00 submitted this review of the Samsung SGH-P207:

Overall rating: 0 (out of 5)

I'm not joking. I've owned 3 Nokias, 2 Motos, 1 SE, this is the worst samsung phone I've had in my life.

Pro.
it look nice that why I got it.

Con.
So much I'll try to list them all.
Actually the one I have is my 3rd samsung P207 that I got and exchanged/ exchanged and exhanged. If I had a chance to go back 1 1/2 years ago I would definitely return it but I got stuck with the phone bz I let the 30 day return policy passed so I couldn't return it and also got stuck with 2yr cingular plan.

All 3 phones have the same problem.
1. When I hit send text msg then the screen frozed and reboot or sometime frozed like that and i had to take my battery off to shut that thing off.
2. Worst reception ever. Some time I have 5 bars then all the sudden it lost all bars so I couldn't make any call then had to shut it off and reboot. It has so many drop calls also.
3. I tried to send MMS with pictures, the person never received it but cingular charged me.
4. Voice regcogition doesn't work, it made the screen frozed and again I had to turn it off and reboot.
5. The phone can't sync to PC even though I have a data cable.
6. I tried to unlock the phone hoping that I might be able to load other version of samsung and again the phone won't work with any data cable.

All the problems that happened to me made me afraid to buy samsung again.

Never think about buy this phone even for 2nd hand or even they give it for free. It's really a piece of junk.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Pheonix submitted this review of the Samsung SGH-P207:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

I've had this phone for a good 6 months now, and I'm absolutely in love with it.
I love the screen, I love the feel of it, I love the response time.

The p207 is so sleek and shiny, it's an absolutely gorgeous phone. Except for the slightly annoying fingerprints, but you'll get that on any lacquered phone.

I think the camera is a fantastic quality, and really, if I wanted amazing pictures, I'd buy a digital camera.

I like the sound quality, It gets reception in most places. It does have a few choice spots where it won't work, but all phones do.

Big fan of the Ringtones, I'm with Rogers (in Canada) so a lot of my ringtones are downloaded, but they sound fantastic.

No MP3 player, no big deal. If I wanted an MP3 player, I'd buy a real one.

The only think I don't like about this phone is it's lack of speaker phone. It's fairly annoying to have to hold the phone to your head all the time, but that's the way it works.

There's also the unfortunate lack of blue-tooth, but a corded headset is fine.

All in all, I love this phone so very much, and if it had a speaker phone, I'd consider it perfect.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

VintaqeRomance submitted this review of the Samsung SGH-P207:

Overall rating: 3.5 (out of 5)

A basic phone, the only reason I purchased one was because I found a very limited WHITE edition on Ebay. I actually keep this one as my back-up in case I lose my primary phone. It's a basic phone and doesn't have much going for it except asthetic-wise; people always exclaim at the pretty white, glossy finish (the keys are white too!).

PROS:

+ Very attractive
+ Small
+ Big key pad
+ Simple UI
+ Good camera
+ Basic functions
+ Service light (preference really)
+ Loud mp3/music ringtones
+ Internet

CONS:

- Mediocre at best reception
- VERY short battery life (I have to charge it every day)
- No bluetooth
- No Mp3 player
- No speakerphone
- Texting is a hassle you have to go through many menus just send the dang thing
- Circular navigation (left/right up/down arrows) make it so that you constantly hit the cancel button when texting or using the menu -- VERY VERY annoying
- Long ugly antenna
- Menu not very customizeable

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

cellulargod721 submitted this review of the Samsung SGH-P207:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

The Samsung P207 was so close to perfection it just makes me wonder why Samsung stopped there. Small size but yet quality construction paired with lots of features gives this phone a good 1-2 hit. Camera/Video works well but could be just a little better. Not a huge issue. The voice command is neat but does not work very well. Overall though this is a great phone. I would still call this perfect if it had bluetooth that is the only thing missing from the equation.

Pros:
Reception is above average

Battery life is quite long for a small feature packed phone

Great looks and perfect size

Keypad is right on with its ergonomics

Cons:
The black finish while beautiful scratches easily

The camera is just below par for the course

Why didn't Samsung put bluetooth on this one?!?!?

I know that not having a certain feature is not really a con I knew that it didn't have bluetooth when I bought it. On the other hand bluetooth would make perfect sense on this one. It would have killed the 551/557 series with ease. But I suppose they had their reasons. Still a really good phone!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

purple submitted this review of the Samsung SGH-P207:

Overall rating: 0 (out of 5)

I have had this phone for less than a year and I am now having to get my 3rd replacement. I had to have my 2nd one sent to me after having the phone for only a few weeks. It froze up on me and wouldnt do anything. Couldnt turn it off couldnt do anything with it and it got so hot that I had to remove the battery just to keep it from burning up. Got new phone and still could not send or receive pictures and would freeze up every now and then. Now I am having to get a 3rd phone because now when I shut it off or it freezes up and I have to shut it off I lose everything that I have downloaded.
what I dont understand is why Samsung has not done anything about the issues that the phone has. I know that I am not the only one to have these problems and if I have gone through 2 plus phones already with the same issues on each one something should be done about it.
PROS
Looks nice
CONS
Terrible phone
Freezes Up
Deletes my downloaded ringtones every time I shut it off
Cant send or receive pictures
Lose my videos and pictures contantly
If you talk on it for too long you will need a pot holder in order to hold it
Battery life is terrible
Have to buy headset directly from Samsung
Voice recognition is terrible
No speakerphone

I would not ever buy this phone again and would not recommend to anyone else to buy this phone. I think that if you spend that much on a phone it should at the very least actually work.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I have had many people complement me on how sleek and unique it is.Not to mention the good resolution and quality picture for the price. I found out a a cool feature while playing around one day. I found out that you can have a video play repeatidly everytime you flip open your phone. All you have to do is select a video in your Video Album, choose options and Set AS Wallpaper it wil immediatley save and will show the video playing as your Wallpaper. Its pretty sweet.I would defenitly recommend the phone to my friends because of the good signal strength and feature of it.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

tonka4x4 submitted this review of the Samsung SGH-P207:

Overall rating: 2 (out of 5)

This phone is definitely not for me. There is not much I'm happy with, it has been a learning phone about what to look at in reviews.

Pros: yes, the camera does take good photos and there are fun frames to add to them

Very loud speaker volume, I never have a problem hearing people

Nice size if you are carrying it

Comes with 4 full length games

Cons:
Way too small when I'm holding it to talk, I'm a girl and it hurts my hand if I talk too long

Even my fingers dial the wrong number (quite often), strange button config.

Speak to text doesn't work as well as I'd like and is a little difficult to fix words that pop up different than you'd wanted

the outside screen display turns off too quickly and you have to open the phone to see if you've missed a call!! I can not find anything that will stay lit or remind you!

Downloaded ringtones are very quiet on the loudest setting.

the green light on the outside constantly blinking is annoying

I'm not good at T9 messaging and this phone offers that, speak or regular long typing for texting, no other options

There are most of my complaints, read the other reviews as I did not want to repeat things often remarked on!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

tara_jackson submitted this review of the Samsung SGH-P207:

Overall rating: 1 (out of 5)

when i saw this phone, I thought it was the coolest phone I had ever seen! But once you get to calling people, you know, the true essentials of a phone, the samsung p207 falls very short of a good working phone.

Pros:

-Awesome camera..the pictures are amazing.
-Cool games
-really nice menu, easy to use. And to personalize.

Cons:

-The reception is horrible! The phone would be connected to the person and just cut off!...I would have full reception bars and the minutes would still be counting on my phone but I couldn't hear a thing. I have cingular, and there would be people with Cingular phones in the same room as me and they would get perfect reception. And my phone wouldn't get connected to the person.

-when the phone would be connected I would be constantly trying to turn up the volume and press the phone up to my ear to where it would hurt.

-The front LCD display doesn't stay on, you have to hold down the side button to turn it back on, for that amount of time i could just open up my phone and see the time. And I couldn't choose one of my own pictures as the LCD display.

-When not on a phone call, the side up and down buttons only deal with the keytone level, not the ringtone. Who cares how lous the key tones are?!?! I want to access the ringtone right there!

-The camera couldn't be programed in any of the shortcuts, ie. left, up, down...

I got this phone for free on Cingular...but the saying is true, you couldn't give this phone away for all the problems it has...Cingular tried with me, but it's just too awful of a phone...As far as the camera, and sleekness is concerened, it's such a shame becuase it's suuuuuuch an awesome phone...but an awesome camera isn't going to get me connected to anyone during an emergency...

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Ic3pick submitted this review of the Samsung SGH-P207:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

I've had this phone since August of 2005. I was waiting to leave a review because I wanted to see how good of a phone it was before I left a review.

Pro
-----
~Nice design black glossy look

~Camera Quality is really good

~Price only $80

~Speech to text feature- takes time to get use to but eventually works really well

~Phone works well. Haven't had a single dropped call. But that is due to Cingular not the phone. I'm in the Southern Chicago area

Cons
-----
~Video is too short. If there is good lighting the video will be really short however if the lighting is bad the video can go up to 59 sec

~No bluetooth

~No speakerphone

~Have to buy headset directly from Samsung

All in all this phone is the best I've had yet. I dropped it in the bathtub and just turned it off and unplugged everything and later that day it was working again. I'm one of those people that likes to show off what I have because I'm still in high school so its fun to brag. Can't find this phone that easily because most Cingular stored don't sell it so its one of a kind.

I would recommend this phone to anyone unless you absolutely have to have speakerphone or bluetooth.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

TATSUYA submitted this review of the Samsung SGH-P207:

Overall rating: 3 (out of 5)

Many of you readers have been interested in this phone because of its eye catching appearances. Though, if you are really interested in this phone, then it is recommended for you to meticulously read the pros and cons of this phone written by the people above because in fact, they are correct. This phone is quite fantastic and has numerous features beyond the technology of the old phones created in the past 5 or 10 years. Though, it has numerous cons that must be fixed or changed. I will not list the pros in this review because I am sure that you are familiar with it already after reading all the comments so instead, i will explain, in details, the cons. The very first thing I noticed about this phone when I purchased it was the fingerprints. Every time you touch this phone, your fingerprints will show up instantly. It doesn't affect the physical appearance of the phone but it is pretty bad. Also, since this phone was actually my first camera phone, using this feature was one of my first action when I purchased it. I noticed that it was impossible to erase the shutter noise, even in silent mode, and also the pictures you've taken doesn't quite fit the whole screen, when it's a wallpaper, so it looks very dreadful. Those two are the most significant features that must be fixed and the other features such as a speaker phone, mp3 player, etc, should be added. What I am trying to inform you is before you purchase this phone, just think about the pros and cons of this phone and ask your self, "Do you think this phone will satisfy you? Does it have all the features you need? Will the cons affect you in any way?" As I, one of the people who purchased this phone basically by the appearance of the phone, was extremely exhilarated when purchased this phone, but is not quite satisfied with it now. I am not trying informing you not to buy the phone because it is still a GREAT phone with a fantastic appearance and numerous great features; all am saying is to think about it.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

idreamoutloud submitted this review of the Samsung SGH-P207:

Overall rating: 2 (out of 5)

I have to admit I was really surprised by this phone. I'm a huge samsung phone, but this phone didn't do it for me. heres why...

voice to text... junk!, after you spend forever teaching it how you talk, it still doesn't work all that good, you can't talk at a normal pace, you have to pause between each word. have you ever tried to talk like that?... its hard and frusterating. I can t9 type faster then this thing can listen to the words. Course with buttons the size that this phone has, you pretty much have to talk to it instead. If you have any vision problems at all, this phone is most definately not for you.

The ringtones that this phone comes with all suck, i can't even find the words to describe them, they're just that bad.

Whats with the grapics this phone comes with? oooow, moving crystals, how exciting.
oh well, that 7 color flashing LED more than makes up for the crap graphis....not!

how come you can't change the display colors on outer screen?

Oh and don't be fooled by the "chrome" strips on the side, they will fall off shortly after you buy the phone.

The only good points this phone has is, EDGE data, good sound quality, and samsung reliability.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

enigmaz submitted this review of the Samsung SGH-P207:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

The design of my phone, the Samsung SGH-P207, is very sleek and modern. It feels very nice in your hand, both while talking and when just pulling it out of your pocket to check the time or to see if you have any messages. All the buttons feel like they are where they should be, including the volume rocker and dedicated camera/voice button on the side.

The features on my phone are amazing and have worked without any problems. Text messaging is the feature I use the most, I especially like th T9 predictive text input and the VoiceMode which turns SPEECH into TEXT which is pretty amazing. The accuracy of the VoiceMode feature is very good. Other features include downloadable ringtones, 3 games, multimedia messaging, full color interior and exterior screen, and of course the camera. The camera on this phone is great, theirs no delay or problems with light as with some other phone cameras, its a good point and shoot cam. Resolution is good, and it also takes short 1 minute video clips.

Battery life is amazing also, I went on vacation for a week once and I forgot the charger. The phone lasted ALL WEEK without it, this was about a month after I got the phone so I knew I had made a very good choice.

Call quality is very good. It never drops calls or gets that weird "rushing" noise that other phones sometimes get. Very clear, on both ends. My friends never have a problem understanding me.

My Overall opinion is that the Samsung P207 was the best choice for me. It has amazing design and features and a very well to do price. I would highly recommend the P207 to any Cingular customer.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

utrach submitted this review of the Samsung SGH-P207:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

I have had my Samsung P207 flip phone for a few months now and my favorite aspect of it by far is it's eye-catching looks. It's black with sleek chrome accents. It has two beautiful crystal-clear color displays, and the camera takes better pictures than many other, more expensive handsets I've seen. The only problem with the camera function is that since the button to activate the camera is on the side of the phone's clamshell body, it often takes numerous pictures of the inside of my purse that I have to waste time deleting once I find out. I chose Samsung because I find their menus to be highly intuitive. I also like to have things that are either rare or new and different than what's out there. This phone was both. I don't see everyone-and-their-mom carrying it around, and it has new technology: voice recognition. As far as features, text messaging works great though I've had some problems sending Multimedia Messages lately (admittedly due to user error most likely). The music tones this phone can play produce great quality sound. The phone comes with 4 games, none of which are that interesting to me, though I'm not that much of a gamer. As for call quality, the volume is a bit inconsistent, but I admit that could be due to the phone/provider/volume of the caller on the other end. Either way, it's simple to quickly correct with the easily accessible side volume button. The battery life on this phone is good; I usually charge it every night, but I have no problem making it through the next day if I happen to forget. The only functionalities I wish this phone had are a voice recorder and Bluetooth. Overall the P207 has been a great purchase, especially for the price.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I really only used Motorola and this phone is really nice. I would like to give a 5 however I do not like the fact that I can not change the ringer volume with the side keys. Plus there should be a quick way to change alert to vibrate. Other features are really good. I love the voice commands, once you train the phone you will love this feature and forget how to dial and not have to pay for voice activated dialing

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
