beezer2 submitted this review of the Samsung SCH-T300:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

First and foremost, I am very surprised at what this phone had to offer. Don't get me wrong, it is old and outdated by todays standards but let me explain. Eight months ago, I purchased a brand new Samsung A950 through Telus, all decked out with MP3, Video, Satellite Radio, and TV. Fully loaded, right? Now I am comparing my new A950 to an old T300, which I just bought used because the screen broke on my other one the other day. So far the ear piece sound quality of the T300 is FAR superior than A950, which sounds like its under water. I get about ten times better reception with the 300, as well as 3 times the battery life with a standard battery on it. Its slimmer and fits better in my jeans pocket. The text messaging, although primitive, works fine as well as all of the basic phone functions(caller ID, Call logs, etc.). So what if it doesn't have MP3? The applications and games quit working altogether on my A950, and would just lock up the handset every time. I bought this T300 as a last resort, due to the 28 months remaining on my contract, and right now it sounds like it should have been my first choice!

Pros:
-Slimmer design
-reception quality, sound quality
-battery life
-slick animations are a bonus
-voice memo button convenient
-sturdy, long lasting construction (its over 5 years old)

Cons:
-No Camera, or MP3, or video
-not color screen
-phone setup primitive, may take a minute to figure out, considering i didn't get a manual with it, heh.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

mrhockey123 submitted this review of the Samsung SCH-T300:

Overall rating: 2.5 (out of 5)

I've had this phone for nearly 2 years now.
The first one I got went back to the store the next morning after it showed its enraging ability to shut itself off....there was a problem with the battery.

The 2nd one didn't have that particular problem although it hasn't been a walk in the park either. This phone doesn't drop a lot of calls, but it isn't able to maintain a steady signal strength either. If I have a perfect signal, and I turn my head ever so slightly, the reception will change. I've spoken with many friends that have the same phone, and they have all confirmed this is the case with their T300's as well.

The other problem which is quite disturbing is my phone somehow keeps changing entries in my phone book. When I dial a stored number, I end up calling some place called the 'Christian fellowship.' I've had to remove at least 10 entries from my phone book because they got messed up (as I just described.)

Before this phone, I had a Motorola Startac and I really loved that phone. Reception was always (99.98% of the time) perfect, it was a great phone.

Right now I'm wavering between an Audiovox, the soon-to-be released Motorola T720 or one of the Colour Samsungs (although I'm leaning away from the Sammy's because of the experience with this phone.)

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

kenstee submitted this review of the Samsung SCH-T300:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

This phone is an amazing bargain. Was $179. Now available on the Verizonwireless web site for $29.95 and includes lots of goodies as well. It's not the latest and greatest, but if you are looking for a solid, proven performer its worth checking out.

Sound quality is very good. Ability to hold calls is very good as well. Very strong feature set includes voice dialing, voice memos and alphabetic phone book; features typically found on much more expensive phones. I had gotten a v60i but was very dissatified with the voice quality and the reception. The T-300 is a superior phone in every way compared to the v60i.

Only draw back is its not a flip phone. But, it is lighter than many flips and only about an inch or so longer, no big deal.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
