Kpoke submitted this review of the LG C1300 / G4015:

Overall rating: 1 (out of 5)

I am in the Computer Industry and this is just another inferior LG product. The only reason I have this phone is because it was the only free phone offered by Rogers at the time. Since the first day I owned the phone I noticed pressing one too many back buttons and the phone automatically tries to connected to the Internet. Secondly if I have an incoming call and try to pick up the phone and accidentally just touch the external buttons the phone disconnects the call. (more wanna be engineers I guess) On many occasions my phone will display 'user busy' when trying to place a call. I have to turn the phone off and back on to make a call, only to find out my phone has not been receiving calls either since it gone into some sort of user busy mode. I could go on with more design flaws, like red led light comes on and stays on even after disabling it. Believe me stay away from LG products.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

lotherius submitted this review of the LG C1300 / G4015:

Overall rating: 1.5 (out of 5)

Your basic phone.

I didn't use this one for very long - it was given to me by a friend (who only used it for 3 mos previously) when my Motorola V220 died. I replaced it as soon as possible.

It had a good feel, and loud ringtones, however reception was very weak and some bugs made it very difficult to use for me. By bugs, I'm referring to in-call volume. It was stuck at 3/6. You could go to the volume menu, change the volume for ringers, alarm, everything, just fine. But if you selected in-call volume, it would just "stick" at 3 - it wouldn't go any higher. Same thing if you tried to change the volume during the call - stuck at 3.

Also, you cannot silently turn off the phone, nor can you silently turn off the ringer. If I am in my Grad class (which you will get kicked out of for a cell phone ringing), and realize I haven't turned off the phone prior to coming in, the only way to turn it off silently is to pull the battery. Otherwise it plays its stupid "turning off" jingle loudly. Turning down the ringer gives a "sample" ring at each volume level too, so that's not an option.

PROS:
Lightweight. Feels solid for a cheap phone.
Easy to use.
Loud enough ringer.
Clear screen (though no camera, so not much point)

CONS:
Bad reception.
In-Call Volume too low (stuck due to bug?)
Determined to be noisy when you're trying to turn it or the ringers off.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

bamavamp submitted this review of the LG C1300 / G4015:

Overall rating: 2.5 (out of 5)

When I first started using this phone I liked it. It was my first web graphics, poly ringtone phone. After I started using it, the phone would start beeping as if my battery was low, when it was fully charged and I had full reception. The volume buttons get pushed wayyyy to easily and it starts dinging and making noises in my pocket and in my purse. Voicemail alert pops on screen when I have no voicemails. I am looking for a new phone.

So in short:
Ringtones are NOT loud enough
Volume buttons are pushed to easily
Beeping during phone calls
Voicemail alert appears when I have no voicemails

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Live near Atlanta, GA and do alot of traveling to New England and to Texas. Use these things constantly and we are very pleased with them. Eventually we'll upgrade (wouldn't mind having more features like "camera" & "blue tooth") but at the time of purchase these were fantastic, have never had problems with dropped call. While on the road may get a week signal once in a while but not too bad. I know that these have been discontinued by most providers, but for a first phone, I have been very happy with these two. I just don't understand why all the negative reviews out there. (You just can't please some people)

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

You lose your calls all the time it drops, it always says not available or emergency use only. It breaks your conversation constantly like a broken record. You can hear the other person but they can't hear you or vise versa. The ring tones are terrible. Sometimes it just rings and don't stop so you have to take the battery out LoL. DUMB CHEAP BORING PHONE!! I was so disappointed, it's a total rip off.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

TYCELL submitted this review of the LG C1300 / G4015:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

To quote another review...

"dropped calls are a function of where you are and who your provider is--NOT YOUR PHONE."

Get a better provider. The phone has little to do with dropped calls... this weighs almost soley on the provider. YES... phone does matter, but not as much as provider.

I've sold dozens of this phone. I've not had one come back yet for any warranty issue.

Excellent, durable, CHEAP, flip phone. Needs speaker phone. Thats about my only problem with it. I personally dont like LG very well... but this phone is one of the better and cheaper LG phones made.

GREAT starter phone, or basic flip.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Russian_Gem submitted this review of the LG C1300 / G4015:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

The biggest warning I will give you about this phone is that in stock photos it may appear to have a front window that looks like Caller ID - It's not, but simply houses a little light that blinks when ringing or if you have a voice mail.

It does have smaller keys, which could mean a harder time dialing for some people.

Otherwise it was very durable phone, I dropped it a couple of times and it still worked fine.

Overall if you want a simple phone with no fuss, this would work fine.

Pros: Durable, good sound quality, easy to use features.

Cons: Small buttons, no external Caller ID, and limited ringtones and only one game (if those are a high priority).

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Well I bout for 150 bucks with AT&T back in June 2004. It was a good looking phone compared to the g4011.

Pros: Light, small, good reception, good battery, intuitive software design, great quality ringtones.

Cons: Needed an external display, screen was a bit too small, ringers were not loud enough because they played through the earpieces.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

hexydes submitted this review of the LG C1300 / G4015:

Overall rating: 2.5 (out of 5)

I'm going to give this phone a 2.5 rating. I'm sure there are worse phones, but I know there are better ones. I actually had two of these phones, one for me, one for the wife. I'm sure I was a lot rougher with mine (she has a case on hers, I didn't). Anyway, the phone doesn't have hardly any features. The screen was fairly nice (bright OLED display), but not super large. The two failing points of the phone, from my experience, were the battery, and the reception. The reception could be contested, because my wife doesn't have quite as many problems as I did, but both of our batteries had/have problems. When they got low, we would charge them up; take them off after 8 hours, and they hadn't charged at all! This happened numerous times, with each phone.

The phone was small, making it nice for pockets, and had good support for games and ringtones. It didn't use a standard USB cable for data transfer, so that was kind of lame. The vibration was nice on it, you knew when people were calling. The mirror on the outside was weird, but admittedly, useful on rare occasions (remember, this is coming from a guy, yes, I'll admit it).

So in summary, it was an ok phone, with ok features, but so-so reception and a crappy battery. You could do worse, but you could easily do better.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

This phone is a great basic phone.

Pros:

1. small, and light
2. nice color screen
3. easy menu
4. durable
5. loud ringer, and speaker volume

Cons:

1. battery drains quick
2. lack of features
3. alot of dropped calls with full towers. don't know if that is a cingular problem or the phone

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Nitemare7 submitted this review of the LG C1300 / G4015:

Overall rating: 1.5 (out of 5)

I accepted an upgrade through Cingular from a Nokia 5100 to the LG1300. The only complaint I had with the Nokia was the items in my pocket damaged the screen. So I changed to the clamshell style phone.

I have had the LG1300 with Cingular for almost 2 years and dropped calls are my major complaint. Initially, the phone worked well. I have exchanged this phone 3 times due to the dropped calls, but the problem always reappears. I received a replacement antenna from Cingular that promised to solve all my problems. I have seen no improvement. There is a partial fix that seems to work. According to Cingular Technical Support, turn the phone off for about 2 minutes in the morning. When it is turned back on, any updates will be automatically downloaded. The dropped calls have been reduced but there is an increase in clipped conversations where words disappear during calls.

Recommendation: Knowing what I know now, I would have stayed with the Nokia 5100 and avoided the LG1300. I plan to buy a Nokia 6061 for about $60 and drop the LG1300 Sim card into it. According to the sales rep in the blue vest, this is easily done. The card will be installed for me when I purchase the phone and will be tested before I leave the store. Cingular says it can't be done that way and you have to upgrade through their service (where they hook you with another contract).

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
