dwbdave submitted this review of the Motorola v120c:

Overall rating: 3.5 (out of 5)

I've never experienced some of the problems that have been mentioned in these reviews with this phone. I have the Alltel version, used to have the Tracfone version as well but ditched it. However, you can do better, for less.

Battery life is excellent, but should be, since the battery is almost twice the size of contemporary phones in other brands. I've come across a couple with Chinese made batteries that wouldn't accept a charge; Japanese made batteries seem to perform better. The charger plugs into the bottom of the phone, it has a clumsy connector with three metal hairlike pins that make contact to the bottom of the phone. This did not pose a problem in my experience, but will eventually fail compared to the traditional pin type that Nokia uses.

The keypad will occasionally not sound a tone when you press a button on some handsets, so you have to closely watch the screen to see what you've entered. The small screen size makes this a chore.

There's a zoom option that makes one line of lettering larger, which cuts down on the number of lines that you can see. If you are used to Nokia phones, the button layout will be awkward.

The Alltel version (v120e) has an antenna stub that doesn't retract like the other v120 models, but all are sticking out there, asking to be broken off (but I haven't experienced this).

If you have the Tracfone version, you might want to dump it for the Nokia 2126, it's nearly half the size and weight, and despite the Nokia's size, you'll like the display better. A call to customer service and your units/service can be transferred from an older phone to the newer one, click on my username above and email me for info if you wish.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Static Image submitted this review of the Motorola v120c:

Overall rating: 2.5 (out of 5)

This phone has recently become my emergency phone I keep in my car. It was free from a friend, and it lasted for a while. While I wasn't as rugged on this phone as I usually am on others, I feel it could last through a small explosion. It had good reception for the time it was used in, the layout was odd, but very easy to get used to, and the battery...
Oh wow, this battery just won't die.

So the cons are-
The layout really is odd. It seems backwards, in a way.

The anttena broke very quickly, thought I'm not sure how good it was in the first place.

The charging method gets tempermental at times.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

moheka submitted this review of the Motorola v120c:

Overall rating: 3.5 (out of 5)

Although it's very basic and lacks features, etc, the phone does its main job well.

PROS:
Good reception
Good sound quality
The phone is a tank. Other than the antenna which breaks easily, I think you could drive over this phone and it would still work.
Keypad is easy to navigate. Don't even have to look while driving.
Voicedial is a nice touch too.

CONS:
Very dull. When I pull it out, I don't feel like a million bucks like those with a razr, etc probably feel like.
Not very customizable
Bulky in your pocket

If you're looking for a phone and nothing else, it's a great pickup. Especially if you're a girl and you'll just throw it in your purse (or a guy in some cases;)). If you want games and ringtones, etc look higher.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I was really sad that I had to use this phone but once I got it, it wasnt that bad, actually it was great.

Pros:
-The best battery life I have ever experienced. I could talk on this all day and the next day and still have all three notches. I probably only charged this phone once a week. Excellent!
-Easy to text with! This phones shape make texting easy
-A lot of options for when this phone was released.
-Great sound coming from the phone and people could hear me fine.
-This phone can really take a beating.

Cons:
-Antenna broke off phone really quick. So did my brothers.
-It had some bad service times

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I owned my phone for well over a year and never broke the antenna. What are you people doing to your phones? Take better care of your phone and maybe you won't break anything!! Phone worked well for me, but in the last few months the reception got poor at times, people would sound possessed when I was talking to them. The phone worked fine for a year and then things started to go wrong, poor reception, people would call and my phone would not ring. But I definately got my money's worth out of the phone.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

shirizaki submitted this review of the Motorola v120c:

Overall rating: 3.5 (out of 5)

Ah, the phone that got me through most of my high school years. A solid design, as I've dropped it almost a hundred times and it still works (I even washed and dried it once, the screen was fried, but I could still make and receive calls.)My only grip was the weak antenna. I broke my antenna on purpose because it protrudes like an annoying thorn and has no use with reception. The ringtone creator gave me some good ringtones. The simple phone book was also easy to use. I'd suggest this phone for the absent-minded and those who need a durable phone. Since no one carries this phone anymore, you can either buy it used or go with the blue-lighted GPS V120e.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

MotoUser submitted this review of the Motorola v120c:

Overall rating: 2 (out of 5)

I'm not sure if the poor call quality of this phone is due to the model or the carrier for which we use. My family have 4 of these phones and each time we call one another, we encounter an "echo" for ~ 20 seconds and then it tapers off. This can become very annoying over time. We do like the text messaging with this model.

We use Verizon Wireless in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, for which I'm not too happy with, considering we left Sprint PCS, which had excellent call quality, but poor coverage.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

But if you are a little hard of hearing, Dont get this phone..The volume on this phone sucks..Menu obtions are easy to use and the price is great, But if you cant hear who you are talking to, Whats the point...

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
