pvtryan83 submitted this review of the Motorola Admiral:

Overall rating: 3.5 (out of 5)

For nearly two years I was a two cell phone guy: an iPhone 3gs for personal, and a run-of-the-mill Motorola Push-to-Talk Nextel phone for work. I really wanted to consolidate to a single phone, but didn't want to give up all the goodness of the iPhone, especially considering Nextel's "smartphones" were sub-sub par and the data speeds are a joke. Finally, Sprint came out with a PTT smartphone that was worth sacrificing the iPhone for. The Admiral runs on Sprint's 3g network (not the 2g Nextel network), but the PTT can cross networks and work with Nextel only users (ie. the majority of my coworkers).

The Admiral is not in the same league as the iPhone 4/4s, or some of the uber smart Android devices, but for someone who needs PTT, this can be a good phone.

I'll just list the Cons:

-Occasionally PTT service does not work after loss of cell service when going into a parking garage or similar. Sometimes takes up to 15min for PTT service to return.

-I've had a couple freeze-ups...not sure why

-Words with Friends isn't available!!!

-No front-facing camera

-It's not an iPhone

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
