This phone is great! The software is so simple and easy to learn, but can do so much!

It's a little slow at times, but nothing to really complain about. That's what I get for choosing this over the Pre!

The flash is nice and bright, and it takes better pictures than my digital camera sometimes!

The only real complaint I have about is the rubberish stuff on the back is peeling off, but nothing a case can't fix.

I went from the Palm Centro to the Palm Pixi Plus. Wow - what a change! I've had the Palm Pixi Plus for a week, and it took some time to get acclimated to the changes. I'm a little discouraged that I am unable to end a phone call using the keypad, and maybe that's old-school thinking, but this screen does not always want to come up when it's supposed to so ending calls is almost impossible for me sometimes after leaving a voicemail or getting a busy signal on the other end. The keys are easy to use for texting though, and I am impressed with the resolution of the camera.
Given I have only had this phone a week, it's been hardly used, and it's already got a glitchy screen issue, I'm a little apprehensive to think this phone could handle a 'two year commitment' that most carriers require. This was as insurance replacement, so this one will probably be going back, and I'm not 100% broken hearted about it.
Pros: Good camera (resolution) w/ flash
Easy of typing
I can hear people well on this phone,
so sound isn't an issue.
Ringtones simply added by transferring
any MP3 via a data cable
Calendar fairly user
friendly,but not with any palm
software. (This is a major downfall
for me though. I wanted to transfer
with a data cable, NOT wirelessly. It
wasn't an option without purchasing
add'l software, which I think is
ridiculous.)
Cons: Cannot end a call with keypad, and user guide is very vague when I've needed troubleshooting tips, etc.
Screen has been glitchy from day one - and it's not because of low battery life. Even at 88% it was acting stupid by not being responsive.

User Review: Great first-time smartphone

I'd been looking for awhile for a smartphone that would really work for my wife. I didn't want a high-end device with all the amazing features that she has no use for but really sound great at the big conventions... just a basic smartphone with an easy-to-use OS. She absolutely LOVES her Pixi Plus.

Pros
- WebOS really is awesome!
- Serious Multitasking!
- Small and light
- Touch-screen is easy to use
- All the features you'd expect
- Priced right

Cos
- App market still a little sparse.

Other notes....

WebOS - really is a great OS. Too bad Palm didn't do a better job marketing this. It's incredibly easy to learn and use.

Screen - Specs seem a bit low (small and 18-bit), but you really don't notice. WebOS makes great use of the size and color.

Keyboard - also looks cramped, but I haven't had a single problem with it. Seems to function well.

Battery Life - Typical for a touch-screen, Wifi, Bluetooth and GPS smartphone... keep a charger close.

Processor - while some professional reviews have complained about the slower processor, I think many of them are judging an entry-level smartphone based on power-user needs. In our short-time with this phone the processor seems well matched for a mid-light user's needs.

Would we recommend... absolutely. Me and my HTC Fuze are jealous.

Been waiting for this forever:

PalmOS compatible phone
GSM
world-compatible
WiFi
"candy bar" form factor

Finally ... my dream phone is here. One small problem: no UMTS 2100. Might as well have dropped GSM 900 and 1800 as well. iPhone managed to get all the bands, and so does Nokia.

I almost ordered this 10 minutes ago. Now I'm not sure.

Pros: as above

Cons (aside from no UMTS 2100):

Well, I don't actually like such a thin phone, but could live with it.

Screen is a bit small.

Keyboard buttons not the most comfortable to use (and my fingers aren't very big).

May still get it, but have to think about this a bit more.
