efrant submitted this review of the HTC Nexus One:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

Bought a Nexus One from Google in June 2010. Was very impressed with the build quality - the best I have seen to date on any device. The device certainly is fast, and Android 2.2 (Froyo) is acceptable for the most part. Here are some of the pros and cons from my point of view:

Pros:
- Build quality is second to none.
- Nexus One has been first in line to get Android updates.
- Comes with an unlockable bootloader.
- Very nice 3.7" AMOLED display.
- QSD 8250 processor is fast.
- Integration with Google apps is fantastic.
- Free turn-by-turn navigation is good (although not as good as TomTom was on WM6).

Cons:
- Touch-screen (i.e., digitizer) is pretty bad.
- MS Exchange integration still has a long way to go on Android, e.g., you can't move email between Exchange folders.
- Only has 512MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM.
- Signal strength is not as good as some other devices.
- Android does not yet support CNAP, i.e., name display.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

JazBaz submitted this review of the HTC Nexus One:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

I loved this phone. It was my first smart phone ever. I recently switched carriers and got the HTC Hero, and was very disappointed so I upgraded to the new HTC Evo and although the Evo is much better than the Hero, it doesn't beat the Nexus One.

The Nexus One was a gorgeous fast slim sexy phone. Everything about it was easy to use. The camera was great, the operating system was great, the way it was set up was great...it was overall a spectacular phone. Very customizable. It left you wanting for nothing!! I miss it.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

siedkick submitted this review of the HTC Nexus One:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

Pros:
Amazingly functional, fast, user-friendly. Solidly built. Best design/shape/size available. Unheard-of customer support.

Cons:
No longer available directly from Google.

I knew I wanted one of these phones as soon as they were introduced, but I procrastinated. Then, when they were discontinued, the after-market price went through the roof. I finally managed to obtain a one-month old unit for about what I would have paid for a brand new one.

I contacted HTC to re-registered the phone since I bought it used. After updating my info, they told me that if for any reason, I should ever need to return the phone, their policy is to ship out a replacement first, after which, I would send them mine in the same box. That way, I would not be without a phone. Now that's customer service!

After a late start, the Android system is leaving Apple in the dust. HTC with Android - it just doesn't get any better!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

eric_cartman submitted this review of the HTC Nexus One:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

I new to this smart phone arena, but I decided to go with the Nexus One with T-Mobile. Call quality is great, and no dropped calls. I haven't had the 3G to EDGE to 3G switching issue that people have been talking about. I wanted something that I can customize to the maximum, and this phone allows you to do that. You can load any custom ROM, rooted apps, whatever. Plus you got the android market (which only keeps growing and growing).

PROS:
-1GHz Snapdragon
-Screen
-Froyo & Flash
-Camera with LED Flash (which inturn is my flashlight)
-Multi-Color Trackball
-Multi-Touch
-Navigation is quick (even on EDGE and GPRS)
-Easy to root
-Tethering & Wifi hotspot
-Plan is cheaper with T-Mobile ($66 for 500min/unlimited data & text)
-Fast 3G on T-Mobile (I get between 3000-5000 down and upto 1700 up in kbps, who's fast now!)
-No bloatware

Negatives:
-I wish they put more on-board memory (this can be alleviated with A2SD), however Froyo allows installing to SD (provided the dev enables the capability) so this issue wont be much of a problem now
-a hardware keyboard would have been nice
-Wish it would work with all 3G frequencies (like both AT&T & T-Mobile compatible)

I heard they stopped selling this, which is bummer. If Google actually advertised this phone on TV (like they did for Chrome) I'm sure they would have sold more.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

tmobileemployee submitted this review of the HTC Nexus One:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

I have used the I-Phone 3g, the Blackberry 8900, the Blackberry 9700, the Mytouch, the Motorola Cliq, & the Motorola Cliq XT, and I can honestly say the Nexus One blows all these phones out of the water. I have never had any significant problems with the phone. My only complaint is that the N1 switches from EDGE to 3g (vice versa) alot.

PROS:
-The Screen Clarity
-Responsive Touch Screen
-Android Market
-Froyo 2.2
-Flash 10.1
-Design and feel of the phone
-5 MP camera with flash and focus
-Comes with a 16 gig memory card

CONS:
-Switches from 3g to EDGE (Vice Versa)
-Can't see screen in really bright sun

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Axekick submitted this review of the HTC Nexus One:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

The Nexus One far surpassed my high expectations for it. I waited a long time after its release to purchase, carefully reading and analyzing all reviews, contemplating their next move with the phone, possible price drops/increases, etc.. to this was not an impulse purchase. Very little bad information that appeared legitimate was written on this phone, anyway.

PROs:
Fast
Beautiful
Call quality
Comfortable
Android
Price
Available Application for free or little $$$
Google Earth
Car Navigation
Easily configure with Google Email, Voice, Calendar etc..

Every feature of this phone, detailed anywhere has been useful and functioned as intended.

Cons:
Fingerprints (as with any touchscreen)

Overall I really have no complaints about the phone at all. I am uncomfortable with having purchased a phone from Google, that was manufactured from HTC and utilizes T-Mobiles cellular service. It would make "passing the buck" easy and convenient. Based on my research I've not read any reports of that happening. The phone is reasonably priced all things considered. T-Mobile is excellent service in my area as well as the most feasible.

I've limited experience using this phones camera and have had mixed results while doing so. The video does quite well in adequate lighting but the camera has produced both low quality and superb pictures. I have yet to determine why the inconsistency.

Otherwise a near perfect phone, easy to access and fast due to processor and memory as well as the layout of the OS/programs.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

The Nexus has a 1GHz Snapdragon processor which means that it's been as fast as the iPhone 4 since it's release in January. Google did not hold back with this phone at all. They intended to show the world how a powerhouse smartphone should look & feel.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

RobertD19 submitted this review of the HTC Nexus One:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

After going thru several android phones(G1, MyTouch, Cliq & even the MyTouch Slide)this phone is set apart from the rest. It looks great, but the functionality and ability this phone has is incredible! The screen is 3.7" and plenty big without being too big. Sensitivity on it is perfect and works well in all the applications that I have used on it, such as photo editing, reading/editing office documents, creating ringtones from music I had on the phone, etc. The processor shows when performing different tasks with the phone. The camera works well and good quality with 5 megapixels. I've loaded full movies onto it, which play without hesitation. Now having 2.2 on there gives the ability to put apps onto the memory card, also can make the device a wifi router. This phone gives a great bang for the buck! Can't say enough about all of the positives. As with any touchscreen smart phone, the battery life is not great, but is better than any of the previous devices I had. Great Job HTC & Google for making the best phone available to date..hands down!!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

The jury is still out on t-mobile's service. I converted from verizon. It has only been a couple weeks. There has been one issue so far.

I' m still getting used to the touchscreen, but that is no strike against the phone. I'm still a firm believer that buttons are better.

On to my issue with the phone. The receiver volume is low. If u need to take a call in a noisey place good luck. Additionally, the speaker volume is very weak and tinny. Music sounds like crap if you can hear it at all and i frequently miss calls because i cant hear the ringer. My basis of comparison is a lg vx8300 and a lg env3. These seem to me like basic things that should have received alot more consideration.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I love the fact it only have a track ball and volume keys as its hard control, I think that is all todays smart phones need, the screen is very responsive.

OS:

Android is a wonderful system, it seems to have allot of potential to develop and from some if the things i saw on you-tube, the OS is growing rapidly. The app store has valid apps as well as just the fun silly ones so it addresses everyone example dildroid check it out for yourself the settings of the OS seams to be all located together and is not as stressfull as the windows mobile OS.

I love the nexus one i think it brings something good to the smart-phone world and i love the fact that it is not as controlled as with the IPhone

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Here in Atlanta I have great 3g. I was a little concerned that I would not like the phone even after tons of research. I have been a iPhone 3gs user since last summer. Before that I had the 3g and 2g.

I am no stranger to android, having owned a G1, mytouch, and a Motorola Droid. The nexus one is by far the best phone I have ever owned. Does everything an iPhone can but it does it better in most cases.

My only issues are minor. Fixing typos in a email or text is not as easy on android as iPhone. Also the battery life is awful. Even with all the typical battery saving techniques in use.

I love the phone and will continue to stick with android, htc and Google if they keep making phones like this and better.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Slash submitted this review of the HTC Nexus One:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

I have purchase this phone for AT&T and had it for about a week now. This device is awesome I do have to say and very well constructed with nice hardware! How ever I did find a few flaws with this device and it became very annoying.

- Pros -
1 Ghz Snapdragon processor great for multimedia and multi-tasking.

Nice Multi-media features they could improve the video quality a bit more.

30,000 Plus Apps in the Android market

Android is more developer friendly so you see more apps by actual people instead of companies such as yahoo or Microsoft.

OLED screen very nice colors and live backgrounds.

5 Mega-pixel camera with flash better than most smart phones.

Expandable memory up to 32gb with a microsd card.

Noise cancellation technology works very nicely with the dual microphones.

- Cons -

Can't download picture mail on a wifi connection probably just a minor bug that needs to be fixed.

OLED screen is hard to see in sunlight.

Very extensive programing if your on a AT&T provider.

Battery life doesn't last to long as what I thought it would.

Media Player could be better.

Not as many apps as Apple iPhone has.

Great device don't know if it was worth the money paying for one or not seems to be worth it so far.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Versed submitted this review of the HTC Nexus One:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

Excellent voice, excellent connections speeds on AT&T's network. Nice included apps. Screen is fantastic.

Sometimes the screen stalls, honestly I think its more of a difference between an AMOLED screen and regular LCD. But more I use it and learn its feel, the better.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

jmanjohn submitted this review of the HTC Nexus One:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

I gave up my iPhone for the Nexus One. First and foremost the horsepower is very evident and part of the overall satisfaction of the device. Some of the apps I have toyed with lack but are not representative of the phone. The model I have is for the At&T network and unlike the iPhone 3G I don't seem to have the dropped calls as before. The transceiver seems to have a little more sensitivity too, I have bars in more places (reception put bluntly). The Dock for the phone is very sleek. I have yet to find a satisfactory screen protector or carrier. The search is still on.
I also appreciate the fact that the phone surface is not shinny. Less prone to evident scratches save the screen surface. The brushed look not only feels good, it is not slippery as the polished iPhone.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

This phone rocks! Got an xoskin from http://xoskins.com on it for $2 off. Android Tapp did a review and gave a coupon androidtapp2off The first thing I noticed with this phone is the responsiveness. The thing is quick, without jailbreaking or hacking it! I can barely tell its in my hand cus it is so light. I have dropped it twice and the ting still works, can't say that for some other phones I have own. Get this phone 5 blue boxes all the way lol

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Ten min after turning the phone on i fell in love, the screen is outstanding, screen is responsive and the onboard keyboard user friendly. Also its the most customizable phone on the market!

Pros-

-Beautiful LED screen(high res to date)
-5* touch screen responsive
-Pan background as well as live
-Processing speed is outstanding
-Android apps(no need to say more)
-Everything! lol

Cons-

-Guess what.......There isnt any!

Buy this phone and support one of the great American companies! It is also an amazing media phone,it can store a ton and plays music and video better than any iphone. And it streams off the internet well, too. It also has great battery life. It also has the most beautiful screen ever. But, I'm going to wait to buy this phone after the Microsoft phone comes out with windows mobile 7.Because I'm a huge Microsoft fan and I think that phone could possibly be better than the Nexus One.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

thomas_fischer submitted this review of the HTC Nexus One:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

I have had this phone for a few weeks now and it is by far one of the best smartphones I have ever had! I am usually a blackberry person myself but the Nexus One incorporates business and pleasure into one sleek device that fits well in the palm of your hand.

PROS:
- Push Email
- The amount of apps (They have all the ones you need)
- Messaging is threaded (Easily check messages)
- Everything loads quick and easy
- Runs Android 2.1 (The only phone that does so far!)
- IM runs in the background!
- Live Wallpapers! (They move!)
- 5 megapixel camera with flash and zoom
- 3G capable

CONS:
- Tough if you don't use Google resources
- Trackball doesn't change colors
- Ringtone selection is horrible
- Battery life is ok, have to charge every night from moderate use
- Flexes between 3G and EDGE, depending on where you are at

To sum it up, the Pros outweigh the Cons any day! Of course with every phone you are going to have your likes and dislikes but this is one phone you will be happy you bought. Even though it's only for T-Mobile, their coverage is sufficient and I haven't had any problems for the most part.

- Tom

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
