After an unfortunate incident involving the phone a pants pocket and a washing machine, the rizr bit the dust. I didn't have a lot of money and the rizr was dicontinued. So i bought the tm509 from sony ericson and had nothing but problems. I just bought the motorola cliq and was happy with all the features apps, and of course call quality. Everything on the phone works great. The pandora app makes the phone even better and the fact that it plays emulators suprises me. I have come to love motorola because of the quality of there creations. it is a five star phone. It may cost a bit more, but it is a better phone than the iphone. Its nice to be able to run multiple aps. There are only two cons with the phone and they are small. That is very very rare for me and cell phones. I typically get bored of them in a few months or their true colors start to show. This phone has been true perfection from the beginning. If you know how to use and set your Cliq up, you shouldn't have any Cons at all!<br /><br />Coming from a Samsung Behold (my first touch screen) I personally am impressed with the battery life. My Behold's battery life was only about 6-8 hours with just text messaging all day long! Not to mention how terrible it would be if i was taking pictures or web browsing. The battery life on the Cliq isn't the best but for what I do on my phone and how long I use it I find the 14 hour battery life to be supurb.<br /><br />PROS:<br />Motoblur<br />Easy interface<br />Child proof sequence lock feature!<br />5.0mp Camera<br />QWERTY keyboard<br />sturdy make<br />Music Player<br />Memory<br />Size<br /><br />CONS:<br />On screen keyboard<br />Slow shutter speed for camera<br /><br />I really have no complaints. Prior to this phone I had the BB Bold 9700 and I liked it but too many software issues and the browser sucks. D-Pad is very useful, especially on web page links.<br />* Motoblur -- I spend so much less time on Facebook and Twitter but participate so much more. Great feed of friends' statuses and photo gallery uploads. One click to comment on a status or picture. The "News" RSS feed widget is so convenient and very easy to add new feeds.<br />* Multitasking -- Constantly helpful. The switcher is very convenient.<br />* Camera -- 5 MP is amazing and has auto-focus.<br />* No Docking -- Automatically syncs with Google contacts and Google calendar.<br />* Delicious -- Delicious bookmarks integrates right into the "Share" menu of the web browser. Android gives apps power to integrate functionality within other apps.<br />* Buttons -- "Menu" and "Back" buttons really help.<br />* Silent Mode -- Dedicated button for enabling silent mode.<br /><br />CONS:<br />* Battery Life -- Lasts about 4 hours on Pandora over 3G, 6 hours on Pandora over WiFi. Lasts about 20 hours with periodic usage. Let drain completely for 3 days to calibrate meter.<br />* Touch Sensitivity -- Sometimes has a hard time differentiating between swipe and click.<br />* Screen Size -- 3.1 in. is a bit smaller than iPhone 3.5 in. or Droid 3.7 in.<br /><br />NOTEWORTHY:<br />* Hanging -- Hangs sometimes, but always snaps out of it quickly when I open and close the keyboard.<br />* Browser Rendering -- Unlike the iPhone, the CLIQ browser tries to fit the page to the screen. This has advantages and disadvantages. Some pages are easier to read, but some pages are crunched or funky unless you zoom way out.<br />* Multi-touch -- It would definitely help, but not a big deal.<br />* Camera Flash -- I had a phone with a camera flash, but it basically does nothing. I did not enjoy the iphone and I really didn't enjoy AT&amp;T, but that is a completely different story. I love T-Mobile and I love the cliq. I was not real happy to hear that the cliq was not coming with 2.0 OS on board, but other than that this phone is amazing. It allows me to do things with a phone that I never thought possible. I love Moto Blur, and I really enjoy the interface. Motorola is a great company, a little weird about the whole OS thing, especially when the Droid came out 4 days after this phone. I think that the cliq is above and beyond anything you can possibly expect from a phone. The phone's interface is a little complicated, but that is one of the main things I like about it, it is not a easy to get used to, but after you get the hang of it, it will blow your mind. The processor is not the fastest one on the market, but well above popular phones. The one down fall that I can think of is that it does not run 2.0 or 2.1, which is a huge downfall, but GOOGLE has the best available OS on the market, in my opinion, if you do not get an ANDROID phone then you are living in the past because ANDROID phones and phones like it are the FUTURE. Also, cudos to Tmobile for a smooth transfer of a former Verizon number to the new phone.<br /><br />Pros: <br />Super looking phone and the hardware appears to have a solid build quality.<br />Quick and responsive for web and email.<br />Great keyboard - a real feature.<br />Bright and easily readable screen.<br />Lots of interesting and useful applications (but see Con below).<br />Great speaker phone - can actually hear the thing.<br />Better as a phone than the Sidekick which is a death device is one tries to dial while......er driving!<br />Easy setup and seamlessly ported Gmail contacts and calendar.<br /><br />Cons:<br />No intuitive way to stop running applications and exit. For example, the music player doesn't seem to have a stop or an exit feature, .<br />Can't easily determine how to download applications (at least those found at http://www.android.com/market/). Those within the TMobile Marketplace work ok.<br />Battery life - terrible, only lasting about 8 hours or so. Motoblur is very nice whether you use all of the social networking accounts or not. I have mine connected to Twitter and Facebook and really enjoy my contacts being linked across networks. Motorola did a good job throwing in little touches, for example: when a person is calling me, it shows their picture (I chose to display profile pictures from Facebook) and their latest status update.<br /><br />The camera is great and very accessible with the dedicated shutter button on the side. It was difficult to take steady photos with the MyTouch 3G/Hero using the trackball. I don't miss having a flash (they usually wash the subject out too much anyway).<br /><br />Motoblur is responsive. I haven't had to reboot due to any kind of OS hang, and switching between screens and apps has been fluid and fast. Hello, easy multitasking!<br /><br />Music sounds good whether playing from the MicroSD card or listening to Pandora over WiFi/3G. The standard headphone jack is greatly appreciated. <br /><br />The keyboard is much better than I had expected. Although it's a grid layout, the keys are easy to find and the buttons are domed and clicky enough to feel the click and be confident of each press.<br /><br />The only con I can currently think of is the lack of bluetooth file transfer support, even though Bluetooth File Transfer can be downloaded for free in the Market. <br /><br />Battery life isn't like Nokia good, but it easily lasts a day with heavy use (now that it has been through a few full charging cycles). Can't complain there.<br /><br />Great job, Moto! That phone had so many problems and i heard so many horror stories. I was a little resitant to try the Cliq just based on the reputation of the razr but i took a chance and love it. <br /><br />Pros: android enough said... apps its like having an iphone but without AT&amp;T. one app included on the phone to link all the main social messaging sites (i.e. facebook, myspace, twitter, gmail) pull out keyboard<br /><br />Cons: laggy, with the switching from horizontal and vertical screens, also with some apps that you download depending on what you get from the app store. sometimes the phone shuts off by itself which can get annoying. but 4.0 never the less</p> <p><i>(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)</i></p> http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/p_forum.php?ff=2285
