azrockclimber submitted this review of the LG enV Touch VX-11000:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

Recently purchased the enV Touch as "new" on eBay since it has been discontinued by Verizon. All the basic phones with a physical QWERTY pad being sold at Verizon were so cheap feeling and have gotten such bad reviews I went with the a phone that has been out for almost three years - Old tech ROCKS!

The call quality is exceptional - crystal clear both receiving and sending. The screens are also vibrant in colors and very clear. Even the touch screen works great once it is set up to your liking. There is a slight learning curve involved if you are coming from a totally basic phone and the touch screen might be a little intimidating at first but within several days you'll have all the new "buttons" worked out.

My only complaint would be is it is rather slippery so you'll need a case cover for it (rubberized) and the battery life could be better, but buying a phone this old you can get batteries, car adapters, covers and cases so cheap.

Overall this is a five star phone especially if you do not want to go to a iPhone or Android smart phone and need a phone to be a phone with fantastic call quality.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

They are the worst I have ever owned in 15 years of owning cell phones. Loved them when they worked but now both have failed. One replaced 4 times during the 12 months warranty. Issues: turns off by itself, turns off when sending text message, outside screen goes blank or white when receiving a text message. Intermittent operation of the touch screen which has now quit totally on both phones.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

ashleyrt submitted this review of the LG enV Touch VX-11000:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

Had this phone for almost a year and a half.
Positives:
My first touch screen and I was very impressed. The phone is very responsive and never lags. Respectable call quality and overall great signal strength. I am a heavy texter sending on average 1800 messages a month. The battery would easily last three days but I never used the web browser. You can text via the touch screen using T9 or you can use the keyboard. Let me just say the keyboard is the most amazing one I've ever used. It's solid and sturdy. When I upgraded to my first smart phone over Christmas I was very disappointed with the quality of the keyboards available! Ended up going full touch screen. This keyboard spoils you. The camera is great, always took nice pictures for me. I love how much you can personalize LG phones.
Negatives:
The T9 attempts to remember some off the wall words you use while texting. This was just a bad idea since it remembers typos and tries to use them again and again. Contact group sizes were limited to something silly like ten contacts per group. When talking with an automated system like your voice-mail for instance forget relying on the touch screen to give you the dial pad, just open the phone and use the keyboard. Sounds and your personal music cannot be used as ring-tones! The flash is way too bright for close pictures, I just disabled it. Ring-tone volume is very quiet for home-made ring-tones, I suggest just using one that came with the phone, it has a nice selection. After owning the phone for over a year I would have problems with the touch screen going totally white, often I would have to take out the battery/reset it. After getting a software update in the Verizon store it fixed the issue.

Overall I would recommend this phone to anyone that is not looking for a full smart phone. Great job LG!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I just got it today. I had heard a lot of negative things about it, but I think it's great. I like the touch screen a lot, and I love the full keyboard. The battery life is much better than my old phone, and I think the design is also really nice. the only thing I have to complain about is the sound. I tried to make a call, and I couldn't hear too well, but other than the LG env touch is a great phone.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Nice case that it is in. Nice picture on video or pix takeing.

CON: Little battery life when u use it to long. Internet drains battery faster.. Battery gets hot when charging it. Ringtones are quiet even on loudest seting so if someone is calling u and u are in a normal sounding area u will NT hear this phone ring. In a quite room yes u will hear it then and only then..

Lg's quality went down since i had my LG1 and I no longer have that one.. I'm thinking of trying a Motorola and gating away from LG...

Thay did great in the beginning but now no good no more...

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

theroyaltechie submitted this review of the LG enV Touch VX-11000:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

The LG enV Touch is a good phone, although I admit I was reluctant to get it after hearing about how many "lemons" people got.

I decided to go forth anyway and get the phone. I must admit, I was nicely surprised.

Pros:
Large outer display
Reliable touch screen
Fast messaging

Cons:
Short battery life (at first)
Not able to teach the T9 any words.

Now, I've found ways around the cons, they just take some time.

To up your battery life, let your phone completely die. Then plug it in until fully charged. If your phone is like mine, it'll give you about 7 hours this first time around. Use it until death. Charge to full. About 12 hours. Repeat one more time. Now you have about 18 hours of battery life, and that's with a lot of texting, calling, and game play behind it (and I still have touchscreen vibrate, vibrate, and ringer on). All you have to do is plug it in at the end of the day and pick it up in the morning.

Now, about the T9. It's pretty good. It knows a lot of words, like any self-respecting T9 should. Although, if you frequent your texts with vulgarity, pervertedness, or your own made up words, you'll have to use ABC mode. Now, the T9 has short-term memory. Say you want to teach it "carry". Go into ABC mode, enter "carry" in. Before you do anything else, switch back to T9 mode then push space. Continue texting.
You can go anywhere from 24-48 hours without using a taught word before it will forget it. So if you use it enough, it'll learn.

Love the phone, only reason it gets a 4.5 is because of it's T9.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I would keep it forever! I am in love with this phone! It is absolutely wonderful! I loved that it was both touch screen and has a qwerty keyboard which until recently Verizon didn't offer much of. I even dropped my phone on the touch screen and completely destroyed the outer screen adn it still worked for about 3 months but even the the external screen stopped working the internal screen worked fine as well as the qwerty keyboard. If you are thinking about getting this phone just do it! You wont regret it!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I wish i could be these other people, but it's so hard for me to fathom that this is a good phone. I've had two so far, eh, three kinda, one was wiped and redone. Anyway, my first one shorted out and turned off randomly. Then I got it "fixed". Didn't work, so I replaced the phone. It started turning off, and when i turned it back on, it would go back to the factory settings. Then I got the software upgrade. (I was SIX behind because i was never informed of new updates) and then it didn't return to factory settings anymore! It only just turned off randomly. When i was in the middle of a call, replying to a text, or just sitting on my desk not being touched. Today I was replying to my friend and in the middle of the reply it turned off. Took me THREE times to get the text out fast enough before it turned off for a fourth.

There's no way I could honestly tell someone to get this phone. My friends that have it all have similar problems. Maybe this phone just doesn't like my state.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

The first, had issues with the front screen while closed. I would receive a text message or a call, but the screen would not light up. The buttons would, but not the screen. I would have to open the phone, answer the call, close the phone to get it to light up. The second replacement had an issue with the touch screen itself. Even after resetting the replacement to factory settings, and redoing the calibration 4 times, it was not registering where I was pressing. With this third phone, I am having a few of the same issues, but not as common.

SO if you have a phone without any issues, AWESOME phone. But honestly with so many issues that I've had... I'm done with it.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Emjay221 submitted this review of the LG enV Touch VX-11000:

Overall rating: 3 (out of 5)

Most of the reviews I have read are from people who have had the phone for a few days. I have had it for three months now, and I am very disappointed in the screen. It is peeling off at the corner. The Voyager I had was the same scenario, and they said that problem had been fixed. Now, I have a phone that I am stuck with for two years, and hope the screen can last. It looks like a screen protector that is peeling, but it's the actual screen. I got the insurance, but why should I have to pay $50 for a refurb that will have the same issue?

The PROS:
I love the keyboard, the touch screen, the phone book, photo ID, etc.

Cons:
Screen peels, screen protectors don't cover full screen. Batter can't handle texting much.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Naturalherb submitted this review of the LG enV Touch VX-11000:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

All in all, a bit lackluster imho as an upgrade to the voyager. i absolutely hate the lock button on this phone VS the sliding latch on the voyager. I'm constantly taking my phone out to find it either in my contacts or some random menu (sometimes the screen is locked but still showing that random menu ??) or its simply isn't locked. as far as the call quality, its typical verizon quality, so very good. the music player is a true upgrade over the voyager in every respect. still occasionally locks up for freezes just like the voyager did (bout once a week). the Internet browser is awesome, especially the ability to tab between up to 3 different web pages. I'd rate it 5 out of 5 if not for the screen lock and the side lock button.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

darkantoinette submitted this review of the LG enV Touch VX-11000:

Overall rating: 2.5 (out of 5)

So, I got this phone after seeing it on a commercial and deciding I wanted it after having the enV 2 (nothing wrong with that one). It may be just me, but it seemed like it worked at first, but after a few months I started having some issues with it. The first one, it was shutting off by itself. It'd be in my pocket, on. And then when I'd take it out, it'd be off. A phone isn't supposed to do that, right?

So that was fine, and I got a second one free of charge. It worked....for a couple of days. The screen started fading to both black AND white, and it shut off at least two times. I gave it a bit longer so that I wouldn't have to go back again, but when it froze twice in less than 5 minutes when I was just trying to write a text message, I had to go back again. So I did, and I got another one.

This one came in the mail, and it took a couple days to get to activating it because I had to transfer everything over from one phone to the other. So, I moved over half of it and had the nice people at Verizon activate it for me and all that. A day later, no less, the touch screen was being horribly wonky and wouldn't work right no matter how many calibrations I did. So after work that day, I went back and they gave me a choice of getting yet another enV Touch, or the Samsung Rogue.

I'm going with the Rogue, and I'm looking forward to getting it in the mail.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

SugaR-E submitted this review of the LG enV Touch VX-11000:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

Well I have had this phone for a few months now and it seems to be working fine. The drafts issue was fixed so this made me like the phone a lot more now. It's kind of funny because my fiancee plays with it non stop, he'll go through my messages and play with the settings, and even though he will not admit it, he loves the phone, and that is a huge thing considering that he hates Verizon phones due to an incident with our previous phones.

Pros:
Large screen
Responsive touch screen
Internal keyboard perfect for big fingers
Stores a lot of text messages
Camera is ok, if you are outside
Internet is fast
Media player is awesome
Charger is helpful
You can edit your pictures
Battery life is good

Cons:
I'm guessing it is the network but I cannot send pictures to AT&T customers, I have successfully sent at least 2, at most? I can receive pics from them but cannot send out to them. Verizon is aware of this issue as we speak. I made sure of it.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Good call quality signal could be a bit better but is decent. Speakers are clear and powerful, touch screen is good. I'm a big guy and have little problems with big fingers/small keyboard.

Battery life is very short... half a day to full day depending on use.

Came from AT&T bold to this, switched carriers and it would be nice to have a bit more 3rd party app capability, but I understood there would probably be a bit more restrictions due to downsizing.

Overall I would recommend. Probably buying an extended life battery to fix the problem.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

SatisfiedWithAPhoneAtLast submitted this review of the LG enV Touch VX-11000:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

I had the Dare as a company phone, but turned it in when i left. I wanted to research getting a replacement cell phone, since i was now going to be shelling out the monthly fee (cheapie here :)

I looked at EVERY company, EVERY cell, EVERY plan (when you're unemployed you have NO LIFE so you can obsess over small things like "a new cell" lol

At first i went looking at the Motorola Droid, and other droid phones, but i just felt they all were "boring to look at, to hold, and especially to use. For the hype and all that they cost, they just didn't "wow" me at all. They all seem to be "all pretense and very little substance".

Nothing compared to the En-v Touch, i thought the Samsung AMOLED screen might be a "dealbreaker" but it wasn't all that compared to the beautiful screen of the En-v.

Here Are my Pros (but i might run out of room :)

PROS:
1. BOTH Screens are beautiful - great size
2. Easy as all get out to set up/change things
3. Layout/Software so user friendly
4. Screen - COMPLETELY responds to every keystroke
5. Has a voice keypad- As you type it says the #
6. Little "pen box" so you can write with stylus instead of "keying"
7. No fingerprints on front no matter HOW hard i try to make some!
8. Camera - Awesome pictures/Soooo easy to edit
9. Video Camera- Couldn't ask for more fetures/better quality
10. Has 3.5mm headphone Jack
11. Memory Card NOT located under battery (like the Samsung Moment)
12. Keyboard is awesome to use (and i have Fred Flintstone Thumbs :)
13. Love the clicking noises when you type on front
14. The "Send Caller A Quick Text?" feature when you reject an incoming call is soooo convenient- You just hit 2 keys and that tells them you will "call them right back"..

Running out of room so here are the Cons:

No wifi
Must have a Data Plan (only $9.95 but REMEMBER, i'm cheap!)
Can't use speakerphone from outside (or i haven't figured it out yet :)

GET THE EN-V - It's going to wow u too!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
