kideeboyee submitted this review of the Sharp Z-800 (Audiovox 7900):

Overall rating: 2.5 (out of 5)

This is a pretty OK phone. One of my relatives has it and i decided to test it out. Pros, color display, antennae placement it cool, (more phones antennas should be placed on the top, i think) and BREW. Cons, battery life and display is weak. Overall, this is an average phone by audiovox or sharp. i really enjoy the antennae placement because lots of cell phones in japan look like the sharp Z800. but there are other Japanese companies like sanyo, panasonic, and nec so just be patient and maybe sharp might make a phone like the Z800 but with better features or other manufactures may be ahead. Come on Sharp!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Okapeto submitted this review of the Sharp Z-800 (Audiovox 7900):

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

I must say this phone is the best verizon has come up with. The unique Japanese phone antenna placement is what I've been waiting for on American phones. I know people say it's awful and it's Japanese style is well... annoying but for those people who want to be different, this is the best phone.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

User Review: Do not buy the z-800 phone. It is not worth it

aa799 submitted this review of the Sharp Z-800 (Audiovox 7900):

Overall rating: 1 (out of 5)

First, the battery life on this phone is horrible. If you are planning to play tiger woods golf, only plan on playing it for less than an hour or so. This goes for talking on the phone too. Second, I've had more then 3 people tell me, while using this phone, that they hear an echo when they speak. Maybe the microphone is too close to the earpiece, I don't know but turning down the ear piece seems to work only if your in a silent room and can concentrate solely on the conversation. Third, if you are ever at the Met in New York waiting for a show to start and you are down stairs at the gift shop, don't rely on the z-800 to keep track of the time. The phone will be unable to find a signal and will continue to search until it finds one. However, it is good that the phone is always searching for a signal, but it is bad that it does not display the time while doing so. Fourth, The Address Book is god-awful, god-awful, god-awful. One number per name was a nice feature about 10 years ago. I've had a Samson sch-850 that has a better address book then the new Z-800. Fifth, where are all the useful things on the phone? I'm talking about a calendar, calculator, world time, count down, voice dialing and, memo recorder. I'm not going to pay $3 to download a brew app for these things, they should be built in. Finally, they overlooked the design of the phone. It is big and bulky. The antenna comes off the top of the phone instead of, where most flip phones have it, on the base of the unit next to the place is flips from. Let me check who's calling with out opening the phone, O wait, I can't, it doesn't have an external lcd screen. I think that is a must on all flip phones nowadays.
Now for some good points?
Um, It's color and you can download games. You can download and customize the ring tones. You can assign a picture to Caller id (This was cool for about an hour).
I had the z-800 for less then a week and I took it back.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
