But that is exactly what happened when it was in a padded case. It was not dropped/bumped or anything just in my pocket for about 20 minutes and it was damaged. I only had the phone for about 2 months. Battery life is really bad it appears to be ok for a bit but within the month it got to where after being fully charged it only lasts about 2 and half hours on standby!! (I had initially charged it for 24 hours before using it when I got it, so that is not the problem). But I looked at this and it was cooler, i was just not sure of the touch panel. <br /><br />It seems to just be a touchier lg 8500 and an upgrade to that of course. Then what then the 8550? i forget.<br /><br />Yeah this phone is cool. SO IF you find the Way to get this phone i would definetely choose it. Yeah I chose the krazr but if u have a choice between the Venus and the Krazr, please choose the Venus. It will save you the low battery life seriously. It was horrible on the krazr, not at first but after the first 8 or 9 or so first months it really started powering down fast. The applications work with ease and navigation is simple and doesn't require too much work.<br />The speaker is great and microphone picks my voice up pretty well. Reception is great and I can't complain! (Charlotte region)<br /><br />CONs: Camera is slow when opening up application. Sometimes when I text contractions that end in T, my phone shuts off and resets. <br /><br />Otherwise, there are really no negatives with this phone for my basic needs of texting and calling. And honestly it still looks good. I would probably recommend it, but it is a bit fussy sometimes. The main issue is the touch screen. It sometimes just stops responding to your touch for no apparent reason. And when I'm trying to IM and take pictures it'll sometimes just go to a blank white screen and the only solution is to take the battery out. <br /><br />I don't have any protective screens on it and it doesn't have any scratches, and it doesn't really hold onto fingerprints at all. It still looks great! I love the buttons and the slider still works great. The only issue with that is that the top buttons are a little scratched from the slider. The picture clarity of the screen is amazing. I love the touch screen, even though it is a finger print magnet. I went from having a Palm Treo 700w to the Venus and I am so glad I switched. I've had this phone for about 4 months and it's been pretty good to me. When I 1st got it I thought it was the best phone out, but the touchscreen was a little sloppy. Now that I've had it longer it's grown on me and I'm beginning to love it. It's super easy for me to text, I can do it without looking now. It takes very good pictures IMO. The slider has a nice feel to it, and the rubber/plastic backing is pretty good for gripping. The chrome however chips very easy!! It's almost all the way off and I've had a cover on it every since I bought it. I had version 3.0 software when I first bought, then version 4.0 came out and I updated it. It fixed the touch problem and now it's very accurate. But there are a few glitches when using a custom wallpaper, nothing to cry over but still sometimes annoying. The call quality seems fine to me, although I only text and rarely call. But when I do it's good enough. The Music player is great since it stays in the background playing and you can text/call/look @ the web as you please without affecting it.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Pros:<br />Great photo quality.<br />Easy to text on.<br />Professional look.<br />Nice big LCD screen.<br />Call quality is good.<br />Speakerphone/Sound good enough for me.<br />Music player is a nice feature.<br /><br />Cons:<br />Chrome trim chips off.<br />Smudge-marks, like all touch screens.<br />Occasional glitches.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Overall this phone is actually a lot better than what other ppl have said about it recently. Because of my job, I need a phone that is extremely reliable. Also, even with protectors on it, the "metal" on the side chipped away. When I first got the Venus, I was thrilled with some of the great and easy to use features it had, but as the weeks went on the phone began to annoy me. The touch screen does not respond quickly enough, and when you need or want to get to a picture, text, etc. fast, you can't. The camera lags, and takes at least a second after clicking the camera button to take the picture itself, sometimes leaving you wit ha blurry quality. If you can manage to hold the phone still long enough, the picture quality can be great because of the 2.0 mega pixels. A frequent problem I had was the space button's freezing during texts, forcing me to take the battery out and restart the entire phone while loosing the current text I was typing. I text alot, so when this happened, I had to use periods instead of spaces while waiting for a replacement phone. This happened to me twice. The only problem about the Venus is that the touchscreen is un-responsive at points, but other times it works great. It's amazing for texting, and the pictures aren't that bad either! It's very easy to get to your contacts, and any other tools you want to use. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T DROP IT! I have a couple times, and it got so scratched on the sides. That reminds me, make sure you buy screen protectors, or your front screen will be ruined in about 2 months. So, I've had this phone for 5 months, and it broke, completely. As first I LOVED it, it's so cute and stylish, but that quickly changed. <br />The phone freezes right in the middle of a text or call waiting call, to the point of having to remove the battery to get the phone to restart.
