LittleDiva submitted this review of the Motorola RAZR2 V9 / V9x:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

How adorable is this Razor? I'm obsessed and seriously can't be parted from it. It is so stylish and actually made of high quality (mine is pink). I use mine on the Tracfone service so with it being prepaid, I save a great deal and get awesome coverage as well. I reviewed this phone to definitely reccommend it along with the Tracfone service to anyone looking for a fabulous deal that gives your money's worth.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Motogirl25 submitted this review of the Motorola RAZR2 V9 / V9x:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

I have had this phone for 6 months and love it! It offers all the same reliability and style of the original razr with some perks.

Pros:
Reception
easy to use
Looks good/sleek and thin
Loud ringtone option
Good music player
Larger outer screen
Clear call quality

Cons:
Battery life
Fingerprint magnet
SD card is under battery door

Overall I would highly recommend for someone who uses their phone as a phone and not a computer. Navigator works well, but it isn't a smart phone.
Battery seems ok on standby but talk time is very limited so you definetly want to have a charger on hand often. The charger also isn't the same as the original razr but adapters are readily available.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

cellgeek82 submitted this review of the Motorola RAZR2 V9 / V9x:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

As a new AT&T customer I have to say this is a great phone. I've always liked Motorola products dispite their recent reputation. This phone definatly brings their name way up. Its by far the best Motorola I've owned and I've had the RAZR 2 on other networks but AT&T and Moto got it right with this one. Here's my pros/cons.

+Pros
Screen - Very sharp
Size
Reception is wonderful!
Internal Memory
Customizations
Voice clarity with Crystal Talk
Keypad has a nice bright light
Micro USB
Micro SD additional memory
2MP camera
Video Share
GPS Navigation (AT&T Nav rocks)
Able to use/access features on external screen (view txt, Cellular Video, GPS etc)
Color - alot better than the first V9

-Cons
-Battery
-Fingerprints - bad only if you're OCD
-Memory card port behind battery door.
-Wish you could have seperate wallpaper on both screens, but no biggie.
-Froze up only once but Motos do that at times, other than that the software is really awesome and rarely has any glitches.
-Didn't come with hardly any preinstalled wallpaper, came with like 3! But its ok I download alot anyway. It seems they were concentrating on the phone quality and not the little things so its cool.

The cons are real petty (except the battery, could be better) this phone is definatly worth the buy! Matter of fact my wife wants one now but she has to wait because all the AT&T stores in the city were out of stock of the V9x! Its a great phone.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

For those that are thinking about getting the Motorola Razr2 V9 here are some things to consider. Not in any particular order

Pros
*Good looking phone
*Excellent Reception
*Feels Great
*Screen is Bright and colorful
*Phone color is pretty cool (if you like that color, I do.)
*Music Player smart key on the left.
*Adjust levels of audio controls on the left
*Music is pretty loud.
*Downloads are fairly quick
*Texting is decent.
*Smart Options button once you flip the phone open has easy access options.
*Ample address space!
*Short cut keys
*Able to receive email and check out You Tube.
*Camera is awesome.
*Video is great if you have a memory (mem) card
*Removing (Mem) card is easy, there is no taking the battery out.

Inconveniences

*Settings Menu, unable to place sub menu in personal order.
*Texting, does not hold the name of the person you texted last.
*FINGERPRINTS!!!
*When phone is open your unable to change the AT&T Logo, (my old Nokia 6126 was able to change the logo.)
*Battery Life, only 3 hours.
*Game & Apps sub-menu, again unable to place in personal order
*Unable to delete phones games or ring tones.

This is why I gave the phone 4.5. All in all, a great buy and phone. If those "Inconveniences" don't bother you... Well you get the idea. I hope this help you in your quest for a new cell phone

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

CellTech submitted this review of the Motorola RAZR2 V9 / V9x:

Overall rating: 2 (out of 5)

I work on Motorola and various other brands of phones in the northern Illinois area, one of the last remaining repair facilities in the us. We have the cdma version of the v9m because we only deal cdma phones. I just wanted to give notice that a minimum of two come back to me (only one of our many locations not counting what comes in elsewhere) When they come in the LCDs are blank or one is deviated. They are not physically damaged or liquid damaged. I am pretty sure the most of them have defective flex cables. The phone has not been a problem at all in performance, but I would push the insurance on this one.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Also the storage is huge. The only down fall is the batter life is a little short, but that is because of the large screen (car adapter ez fix). Good sound quality. Also wish that we could watch tv on it. That would be very nice. Come on cricket...get with it.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I had hoped this new phone would last as long. I loved it...till it fell apart, literally.
Pros;
reception
screen sizes
ease of use (after figuring out the ins and outs of the new systems).
volume levels
photo quality
video capture
blue tooth
size of total unit
Calender

Cons;
Body integrity
Back plate was never secure.
After less than a year I took the phone out of my pocket (where I carry it and carried the old Razr) and i felt the top moving under my thumb. the right hinge had seperated and the phone had literally fallen to pieces. Unable to retrieve my schedules from calender nor any phone numbers not saved to the sims card.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

The review said that there were no micro USB car chargers. I just wanted to let everyone know that I have seen them at BestBuy, micro and mini USB. So they do exist. I also have never used the phone but have heard many good things so I gave in a four.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

phurst submitted this review of the Motorola RAZR2 V9 / V9x:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

As a Store Manager for At&t i carry a Blackberry Curve for my business phone. I use it for all my emails and even for entertainment purposes such as mp3 player and also to watch Dvd's. I recently purchased the v9 to use for personal calls so i can free up my business phone for sales. The v9 is a great phone. Aside from the obvious clarity when it comes to phone conversation, its easy to use and is a sharp phone. Now obviously motorola could have made the battery life a lot better but with all the pros this phone has its bound to have some type of flaw and battery life is it. Now if it was me a car charger would be a necessity which it should with all phones so if your traveling you can be charging, which a car charger gives a rapid charge so it should fully charge in less than 45 minutes. As far as reception, you should have no issue unless you are in a area which is limited to coverage. If you experience issues in a good coverage area, i recommend you stop by a At&t store and allow them to put your sim card in the reader and make sure it has received all its updates in a timely manner. Also, its recommended you shut your phone off 5-10 minutes per week so it can receive updates. A phone or sim will never receive an update powered on.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

dsara submitted this review of the Motorola RAZR2 V9 / V9x:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

As I have found phonescoop very beneficial when looking for a new phone I wanted to drop a short but sweet review on the V9.

I previously had a Motorola 815, which eventually was rendered useless due to the infamous charging port design flaw. Nice phone, but had to go.

I reviewed all of the phones that Verizon was offering and decided to stay with Motorola as a familiar brand and reputation, but was very quickly disappointed with the current models that were out there. I got word that there was a new RAZR coming out and decided to wait it out to see what the V9 was all about. Being a big improvement from the 815 I have to say that I am VERY happy with the V9 both in performance and features. It is always somewhat of a gamble when picking out a new phone, but I think that I made a good choice and it was worth the wait. I am still working through all of the features, but so far soo good. The only CON like everyone else eludes to is the battery life seems short, but you can optimize this by setting up the phone right to save juice.

Thumbs Up!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

CM23 submitted this review of the Motorola RAZR2 V9 / V9x:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

I definitely love this phone. It has GREAT reception, great screens, nice feel, and good speakers for music, etc.........BUT..........and this is a big one........the battery life is terrible. I wished the battery would last longer than it does. You would think Motorola would get more juice out of this one since this is the latest version of the Razr phone. I don't like having to charge a cell phone on a daily basis and having to worry about running out of battery life. I am possibly thinking of trading it in on an 8GB iPhone. I'm still doing research on that........
I'm rating it a 4.0 simply because of the battery life. For a phone that costs $249, it should have a better battery.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I've had several dropped calls and a lot of static in places I never have before.
Speaker phone only works when open and isn't very loud
Must keep phone open when on speaker which is awkward cuz the phone is HUGE when it's open and the speaker is on the bottom.
I have yet to get a full day out of the battery and I barely use the internet. This is just from average amounts of calls and texting.
I had to return it 2x. Once b/c the camera, video camera and alarm clock didn't work. Then again for the alarm clock. Too glitchy for me. Now I'm waiting for my Ericsson 580i.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I can barely get 2.5 hrs of talk time.If I could switch to the GSM mode, I could probably increase talk time considerably.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

irbrenda submitted this review of the Motorola RAZR2 V9 / V9x:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

Like everyone has has said, all outstanding features and more! I ported over from Verizon after many years of really excellent service but I do not care for their latest round of phones. I had just switched my boss over from Verizon to ATT last week and after getting him the new V9, I had to have one too!

PROS:
Almost everything: looks, build quality, reception, screens, camera, voice clarity, and so on and so on!

CONS:
My 2 biggest concerns:
No dedicated speakerphone button. I'm used to putting the speakerphone on from my E815 and leaving it on, closing the clamshell. Can't do that now. You can put the speaker on once on a call but the clamshell has to remain open or you lose your call.

No Talking Phone feature. I like to hear what numbers I'm pressing. Now I really have to look at what I'm doing. Not good for me as my close vision ain't what it used to be.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I already had an iPhone, but I purchased this phone because I needed a smaller second phone. I purchased this phone after trying the underwhelming A-717.

PROS:
-Reception
-Call quality
-Volume
-Overall build quality
-Music Player
-XM Radio
-Screen (external and internal)
-Fast
-Voice Dial

Cons:
-Color

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

User Review: Minor Learning Curve :)

George Knighton submitted this review of the Motorola RAZR2 V9 / V9x:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

Users are going to find a minor learning curve moving to the V9 from a K1 or other P2K phone, I think. Although the V9 uses the time proved Synergy OS instead of the Linux/Java system of the V8, there are still many differences.

The menu system moves with a speed I have never seen before. Much faster than the K1, and slightly faster than the V3xx. Every change seems to be a change for the better, and generally well thought out.

Battery life is good, slightly lower than the K1. The battery life can be compromised by the phone's trying to hang onto a low strength 3G signal instead of holding the stronger GSM signal. This can be mitigated if you buy a version of the phone with the network options unlocked, allowing you to manually configure the network to hold 850/1900 GSM instead of looking for 3G in fringe areas.

I got my phone from the eBay seller Aria Cellular. Costs a little more, but ships unlocked with menu options opened up and with full rate already forced. Since there is so little software support for hacking the V9, this might be a good idea for people looking for that little bit more. :)

Exceptionally good RF signal capture. I can hold a conversation straight through an (evidently) zero-bar signal area where every other phone drops a voice call.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
