baseballguy2001 submitted this review of the Apple iPhone:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

I got a 4GB on the used market and 'fixed' it for the Tmob network. As a former Dash user, this phone ROCKS. It almost takes the place of my laptop. The screen is nice and bright. The previous owner took very good care of it. I can send and receive emails, search the web, make calls, listen to music, it's a well engineered device. I can't remember the last time the system software crashed, and it's never locked up on me. Now the bad news: It doesn't have GPS built in. (but some how the google map app 'finds' my location to within a few feet) The camera isn't the greatest, especially in low light. The wait time for some things can be on the slow side, starting up apps for instance takes a while. Over all, it's very good, especially for a three year old device.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I was at the friends swimming pratice, reached out to take a photo and dramatically watched my phone hit the pool water, I could have grabbed her and saved her from getting broken as they say (things happen slow) it happened fast, and left me a sad guy with a 2 day old broken water damaged broken digitizer iphone, 8gb I never used that went to waste, after that I crappily had to go to a loaner razr v3, and I miss having the iphone. I really do, and i wish I could get another someday

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I laughed, and asked if its true. Became to be true, and this iPhone has ALL theses GREAT features... but can't even send a picture message...

Honestly, that is instant fail. It's a huge disappointment that probably turned away most eager people looking forward to this iPhone, unless they got over that fact that they can't send picture messages...

If it had picture messaging, this would have probably been the best phone out on market, however, lacking a SIMPLE, easy communication tool, makes it lack that spot...

I give it alot of props for having so many features...however, it all falls back on the lack of being able to picture message a friend...

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

castro517 submitted this review of the Apple iPhone:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

I waited for a while before I finally bought the iPhone. I purchased the tilt, the LG VU and the pantech matrix before the Iphone. I read the reviews on here that said that the battery life was crap, the reception was bad, all about the dropped calls and a litany of other gripes. All I have to say is that I wish I wouldnt have waited so long. As far as battery life is concerned I listen to music, talk on my phone ALL day, send text messages surf the web play games and I have yet to run out of battery on a day where I didn't put it on the plug the night before. For me the battery life is great. The reception? I live in a townhouse right next to some condos and I have a front yard with line of pine trees. The reception is spotty but I can still talk on my phone with no problems. (most of the time) Anywhere else and I almost always have full signal strength. Ill admit that I have had a couple of calls dropped but they were in areas where the reception was weak i.e. the basement at my home and my office building. In my opinion this is the best phone I have EVER owned and I have owned most of the "cool" phones for most of the providers. My wife has the blackberry storm and I get to play with both and the Iphone definitely does better than the storm on nearly all fronts. The only thing I have left to do is sync my iphone with my company e-mail and I will be completely satisfied.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

iamthephonemaster submitted this review of the Apple iPhone:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

I never thought id buy an iphone. mostly because i never wanted to be an at&t customer again...and im not. I finally after a year and a half of using the instinct and the dare and Behold and, various Chinese knock offs decided to buy an unlocked and jailbroken iphone off of ebay....and damn if i didnt fall in love.

This is the best device ive ever used, and ive used them all.Ive been in the wireless industry for about 11 years and have worked for various carriers. Right now its T-mobile
which in my opinion is great. So needless to say i have their service. So unlocked was the only way to go. And much to my surprise it didnt matter, non of the phones features are at&t dependant. youtube, app store, even itunes all work fine. i got safari up and running no probelm. This device rocks on so many levels, the web is unbelievable. the music sounds great just like my ipod i can now sell. the interface is great and easy as hell. even the camera looks better than other 2 megapixel cameras. i think it far outperforms the instincts and dare camera. The behold does beat it out but come on its 5 megapixels. the only two things about this phone that i wish i could change are trivial at best and thats the lack of MMS and no landscape texting.however there is an app you can buy that allows you to landscape text nicely but i dont want to pay for it. other than those two tiny things this device does it all and does it three times as good as any other device ive ever used. I cant wait for the unlocked 3g version to come down in price a little...$599.99 on ebay is a little steep. i used the G1 for three days before returnig it and let me tell you it doesnt even get in the same ring as the iphone let alone knock it out.

i will never own another device again. mark my words its iphones from here on out for me.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Overall, it's the most stable phone that I've ever laid my hands on.

Buy it, and you won't regret it.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

jma6788 submitted this review of the Apple iPhone:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

Ive owned the 2G iphone for about 8 months now and its by far the best phone ive ever owned. having owned just about every smart phone on the market before the iphone, im pretty used to a massive amount of features, and apple didnt dissapoint. I JUST HATE AT&T (even though i work for them lmao) and aparently im not the only one!!

Pros:
Of course all the obvious;
-full, very responsive touch screen
-high resolution
-visual voice mail
-YouTube
-up to 16 gigs of internal memory
-built in ipod
-good weight and feel, very sturdy for a smart phone
-extreamly easy to navigate (user friendly)
-and the envy factor, although it gets kind of annoying, everyone wants to play with it.

Cons:
-first 6 months were amazing, last 2 have been hell
-multiple glitches
-slow internet
-fear of cataclysmic phone failure if you drop it even once
-glitchy touch screen (touching one contact, dialing another)
-inability to open and clean yourself
-updates only fixing one problem at a time
-AT&T coverage in Arizona is by far the worste ive ever used, even cricket had better coverage. (great company to work for though lol)

overall i love the phone, but hate the service. i highly recomend the iphone to anyone, but i recomend getting the 3G and updating it as much as possible. and if you live any farther west than texas, id rethink your decision to go with AT&T.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Mackidockie submitted this review of the Apple iPhone:

Overall rating: 2.5 (out of 5)

The iPhone (running OS 2.1) isn't ready for prime time.

The missing to-do synchronization makes the iPhone less than a business tool, and the software is still too buggy and unreliable.

Typing is unpredictable. An iPhone user has to learn how to type with thick-glass parallax problems and left-hand, right-hand, left-eye, right-eye accommodation. Apple knows this, or else they wouldn't have the technology to correct for user mistyping. Apple has been religious about their insisting their Mac software developers keeping the GUI consistent with Apple protocols. It makes life easier for Mac users. Yet, Apple forces users to relearn how to type. How would you feel if you had to relearn how to read each newly published book?

My old Blackberry 7290 with Missing Sync gave me all the functionality a professional *needs* on the road: calendar, contact list, to-do list, e-mail, and SMS. Somehow I managed to get through life without iPhone's extra virtues. The OS and applications never crashed, the synchronization was flawless, the UI fast and convenient. I rarely needed to clean the bloody glass.

I admit to being an Apple bigot since 1984. I still have my 512k Mac and Newton, great doorstops. The iPhone is too clever by half. It's a Swiss Army knife; it does everything, but not well. If Apple focusses on improving the iPhone's reliability and basic functions (phone, calendar, contact list, to-do list, synchronization, e-mail, and SMS), then they can add all the bling they'd like. My AT&T contract has a year left. No improvement in the iPhone? I still have my Blackberryâ€"unlocked.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Cuz AT&T is the ONLY carrier of this phone! And They Are the absolute WORST carrier on the face of the earth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVRYTHING about AT&T is horrible! Im telling you they SUCK!!!!! The phone is great but its SO not worth having AT&T!!!!! If you are already locked in with AT&T i recomend this phone... Although it does have a few bugs, but i believe they fixed them in the 3G.. So get that one.. But if you are out of your contract a STRONGLY recomend u take advantage of that and quit AT&T!!!! I promise that u will be pleased with ANY other service provider!!!!

Thanks!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

As a chef and a musician, I need to have a phone that wont let me down, and the iPhone did just that. Needless to say, I have a brand new Sidekick 2008 on its way in the mail with a new Tmobile activation.

x.x

PROS:
- Touchscreen, loved the way you moved about the phone, how you pinch it to zoom out and slide your fingers opposite ways to zoom in, and how you could change to landscape view by turning the phone sideways.

- Camera, pretty decent. Seemed to take the pictures fast enough so the moment wouldnt be missed.

- iPod, self explained.

- Full HTML, pretty nice, despite the slow speed. But if you want speed, hop on a laptop or desktop.

- Apps!, very fun and useful, if you dont mind forking over a few bucks here and there for them.

CONS:
-KEYBOARD! im a HUGE texter, and the provided on screen keyboard was nothing short of a joke. It took FOREVER to send texts.

- Lag, seemed like the more you had on the phone, the slower and slower it would become, eventually to the point where youd have to take a few apps off to make it run decently.

- FRAGILE, holy crap. I dropped it ONCE onto my car floor and it shatters? Ridiculous!

- No MMS, I love capturing cool pics and sending them to buddies, but the iphone didnt want that.

- Overall Glitchy, i always downloaded the newest software, when i broke i had 2.0.2 on it. But it still seemed i was restarting it all the time.

Overall, I dont like this phone and i do not suggest it at all.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

kingslaw submitted this review of the Apple iPhone:

Overall rating: 3.5 (out of 5)

Having had a dozen or more Smartphones within the past 6 years, I know what I need and want in a device. I'm currently running 2.02 software and living in Eugene, OR

Pros

•	High Resolution Screen: This is by far the largest and probably the best screen I have ever had on a phone.
•	Touch Screen
•	Wifi makes the device bearable
•	Slide show
•	Fun apps mySpace, Facebook, and Aim just to name a few.
•	2.0 megapixel camera
•	iPod/iiTunes- I love the fact a I always have a reliable music source with me at all times
•	Video- It has to be pushing at least 30fps
•	Its syncs with my Mac, straight out of the box.
•	mobileME capable
•	Full HTML browser

Cons
•	I’ve had numerous missed calls that automatically get routed to voicemail in exceptional coverage areas.
•	Often, my cell phone will not ring when others try to call me, they just listen to dead air.
•	My phone needs to be shut down 1x/day to function at an acceptable level.
•	Ringtone/Alert Volume
•	Not much of a personal data assist.
O No today screen
o Mobile ical is a little too basic. I have a business to run, and the little reminder they send you are really whimpy.
•	Onscreen keyboard-They should have set up the keyboard with tactile feedback
•	Poor phone design (no easy access to change out battery)
•	Poor battery life (I’m a pretty heavy user)
•	Less than average reception
•	Internet Speed: Slower than dial up.
•	Speaker phone is worthless.
•	No video taking capabilities
•	No MMS (No picture messaging capabilities)

Overall it’s great start to something beautiful. I plan on selling my iPhone this week and waiting for the Diamond to come out. I will give Apple another shot at in a year or so. It’s a pretty good phone, if you’re looking for a fancy phone without a lot of strong PDA features. I believe Apple to will step up the plate next go around.

I hope you found this review helpful...

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

gdub submitted this review of the Apple iPhone:

Overall rating: 3 (out of 5)

I'm going to try and keep this one brief, much like the features that apple decides to capitalize on with this device. First of all apple has an amazing marketing department, who really deserve a raise. All of apple products receive much more attention then they really deserve. Always having a weak operating system and unneeded performance for the application. This yet again, is the verdict with the iphone. Lacking many features that enthusiasts would consider to be essential, the basket case fruit company again decides to capitalize on unneeded features, such as the touch screen, and leave out the essentials such as flash support, java, office support, and even copy/paste, don't even get me started on picture with picture messaging. I write this review for this phone resulting from owning one. The iphone 3g mimics that flagship in many aspects, and receives a more expensive plan. All in all i call this not an advance in technology available, just great marketing.
Here is to hoping history repeats itself with this company
~Gdub...

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

573perfection submitted this review of the Apple iPhone:

Overall rating: 1.5 (out of 5)

The first couple of days, you'll be so psyched that you have it without realizing the never-ending flaws. After that,it will drive you crazy, day after day.

PROS
-OS is the most user-friendly interface out.
-Large display(which probably relates to the battery being so poor)
-WOW Factor(if youre into getting attention.)
-IM simulating text messenging
-Updates
-Wifi
-Accelerometer

CONS
-RECEPTION!!!-frequently drops calls in places that I have NEVER dropped calls.Signal is very weak, fluctuates frequently.
-Phone doesnt react at all to moist/sweaty fingers.(I have to dry my hands completely off to use the phone if i'm outside on a hot day.
-BATTERY LIFE(you can look at it decrease, while your on the so-called internet,or other programs.)
-Internet,crashes and takes you back to the home screen randomly.Sometimes it cant connect to the server. When you finally connect(without WIFI)the connection brings back the dial-up connection days of the 90's(very scary,i know)
-You have to literally smash the phone against your face to hear sometimes.

OVERALL
If you want an ipod, that has the feature to make a few short phone calls here and there, and wifi, then its made for you. On the other hand,if youre on the go and want an actual smart PHONE,THIS IS NOT FOR YOU, I would recommend Nokia e71/e series,BB Curve, Motorola Q9h,HTC Tilt,Palm, or you could wait on the BB Bold/Samsung Omnia.ANYTHING.I am truly not an Apple hater,I was a loyal fan, until this device, it was just a flat out waste of my time.

I'll give it a 1.5 for Apple's attempt.better luck next time.
-

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Fine I hope. Okay so, ihave the iPhone and personally I LOVE it!!! I read previous reviews and Im not the type to feedoff negativity from others. Some reviews of his phone is ridiculous. I'm so tired of people compliankng about the battery life. Apparently if u use the phone for long hours or surf the net or listen to music then it's obvious the battery will drain. Also people complain about what the phone DOESNT do or doesn't have. First of all if u would really get in depth about the phone before purchasin then the small things shouldn't matter. I don't think anyone who complains aboeut the little things needs this phone. Anyway let me share y I love it.....

Beautiful big bright display
Easy touch sensitivity
Great web broweser
Camera takes beautiful picutures depending on lightening
iPod is awesome
Apps easy to install

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

The phone has more capabilities than any phone that exists plus more. The iphone isn't perfect but it's like I would say it's preety damn close. There's no big difference Between iPhone & iPhone 3g but it's name, andhigher cost in the long run because of the 3g feature fee. All in all it's the best overall still mad at myself for not obtaining this phone the day it released. Bronx ny peace!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
