narn3049 submitted this review of the Motorola RAZR V3xx:

Overall rating: 2.5 (out of 5)

I got this phone awhile back (3 or so months) on H20 wireless, a prepaid service. I LOVED it and it worked excellently. I was giving it to my cousin as he liked it, and it broke when I was showing a family member what I was giving to the cousin with it. The screen froze. Inside screen went black. Outside screen had an upside down M for like when it was open.

So I removed the battery and then tried to power it on. It wouldn't come on, it did eventually, but the screen was out on the inside. Ended up trying to take it apart, but breaking it more in the process. Sorta just tossed it around, to do a durability test. It did a good job then, because it was tough, BUT Should have remained a functioning phone for him.

It had some excellent games, skipping stones, golf, billiards? I think is what it was called. I always played them and it was an excellent phone at the time I owned it. I'm just not sure why it'd shut off.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

What's up with that??

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Tahluu submitted this review of the Motorola RAZR V3xx:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

I'm an AT&T custermer since 12/11/07. I was with Cellular One before AT&T brought them out. I had the LG Trax from 12/11/07 to 1/2/08 because the Lg Trax was a lemon phone. So I went back to Motorola & got this phone V3xx on 1/2/08. I had no problems with this phone at all. I got it wet & got another V3xx on 8/16/08 from insurence. this phone is working Excellent.
Pros:
Everything
The service with AT&T & V3xx is great. Few drop calls, I live in Denali Park, Alaska in the summer & Oregon in the winter & still have great signal & sound quality. I can record my own ringtone on the Voice Record without downloading them on the computer. The camera takes good pictures & i put them on the computer & they're good too. The Video Camera is good too. The cell phones will last a long time if you take good care of it. Yes there might be some phones won't work right. But not all the time. If they had the v3xx again I would get it again. I don't use the data on this phone because I have a computer at home.
Cons: None

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

adrenalated submitted this review of the Motorola RAZR V3xx:

Overall rating: 0 (out of 5)

I hate this phone.

Reception is bad. I hesitate to say terrible, but it's pretty bad. I lose service easily in areas where everyone else on my network has no issues.

It drops calls constantly.

It frequently not only drops calls, but randomly turns itself off and restarts in mid-conversation.

The battery cover on the back of the phone is flimsy. Had to tape it on.

The battery is not very durable. I've had the phone for a year and the battery is worthless already. My previous cell phone lasted ~5 years and the battery was still strong when it died.

Pros: it looks nice and is easy to use.

Since I use my phone pretty much only to make actual phone calls, and this phone fails miserably at that, I must say that I can't recommend it.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

keithfrombm submitted this review of the Motorola RAZR V3xx:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

I had the v3xx for over 2 years. Great phone but showing it's age. Mine also broke and ATT replaced it 4 times each with a progressively more inferior refurb. They claimed they were new but their constant problems lead me to believe otherwise. PROS: Simple functional design. Decent reception. I'm a truck driver and I switch towers constantly but the v3xx had trouble keeping up. Other than that, you'll have no problems from it there. Really the motorola user interface is simply brilliant. I really like it and the personalization options are endless. Great phone here too. The internet was really fast. Use opera mini and it's great for just about everything but streaming media. Also google maps couldn't be set to authorize only once. Yahoo Go! was an acceptable alternative. But there are CONS: ATT dumbs the phone down to try to make you buy it. I work for a living. I don't have time to hack a phone to make it decent. Reception was okay but for a trucker I was clearly testing and beating its limits. My first v3xx didn't screw up much. The 4+ replacements screwed up constantly. Maybe the first one was an exception but I'd like to think otherwise. Last one started crashing. Screen would white out and phone would have to be rebooted.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Calls were clear and strong signal almost everywhere I went. Very few dropped calls.

Now, with the exception of the on/off key none of the keys work. Oh well.....

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

So far, I can hear calls clearly now! My old Nokia brick was a refurb when I got it, and three years of abuse didn't help it. Just remember to charge it every other day. I don't have the Media plans or anything, either. Can't tell you if 3g is worth it or not.

Pro: Clear Sound!
Useful Camera
Reasonably Sturdy
Third Party USB - MiniUSB cable works fine.

Con: All Demo Games, no freebies
No USB Cable or Software included.
Battery Life.... sucks.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

The main problems with my phone were little or no reception at all and not sending or receiving text messages. Another problem was dropping calls and i kept having a beeping noise when talking, and didn't have a message on another call coming in.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Entropy42 submitted this review of the Motorola RAZR V3xx:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

I searched a lot of phones on phonescoop before settling on the Razr V3XX. My wife and I both got one. While we don't use a lot of the advanced features of the phone (like internet connectivity) we are both very happy with the phone. For normal talking usage, the battery life is more than adequate. I charge my phone once every 3-4 days, but admittedly am not a heavy phone user. The ability to charge and connect to the phone with standard mini-USB cables has been a very useful feature. I charge my phone on trips without having to remember a separate charger, as the USB cable is used for connecting my camera to my laptop anyway.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Mine was pink and beautiful. all my friends loved it. texting was very easy with the keyboard and it feels cool as well. i got very good reception( central indiana) at home and when i traveled. the battery was decent. i usually still had all my bars after use most of the day for texting and such. unfortunately it broke twice around the hinges. they just snapped off. i have no explanation for how that happened.

pros:
pretty looking
good reception everywhere i have traveled.
nice camera
cool skins
texting is easy
good battery life

cons
hinges break easily
bigger than other razr versions

overall good phone but lots of use must cause breakage of some sort because i used mine on a daily basis and it broke for no reason. but overall its a good phone.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

cellularantenna submitted this review of the Motorola RAZR V3xx:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

I'm in the cellular business so I get to use lots of phones. I am giving the Motorola V3XX my thumbs up. It's a keeper.
Pros:
-Damned good reception. This is one issue I am a REAL STICKLER about. I'm a signal strength junkie. And this phone passes easily. One of the best signal phones I've seen in a long time
- Design: Sleek and pretty. I've seen other reviewers here criticize the hinge. I'm rough on phones and I don't have a clue what they are talking about. No problems here. OK, you probably don't want to use it to jimmy a window...
-Inside screen is beautiful and plenty big enough.
-Software is very stable, unlike my old Motorola V600.
-Access to the web is just one button touch away. Has a dedicated button for Cellular Video. I happen to like watching the CNN update that gets freshened up once an hour. COOL! Letterman's top ten list from last night gets viewed by me a lot, too
- Effortless email set up. I CAN GET MY HOTMAIL EMAIL ON THE ROAD. And with just a couple of button clicks. YES!
- Can be connected to an external antenna if necessary.
-Music player is decent.
- Durable enough. I've dropped it hard several times with no ill effects.
CONS
Yeah, like everyone else I'd like to see the outside screen a little larger and a little more vibrant. Oh well...
- Battery life with the O.E. battery can be just a little anemic especially if you're on the net a lot or listening to a lot of music. But I found a solution. I went on eBay and bought an aftermarket HIGH CAPACITY BATTERY. Came with a new, larger battery cover 'cause the O.E. cover won't go over the bigger battery. Now my battery rarely even looses a bar. COOL! But don't tell AT&T. Mums the word, eh?
- I find that sometimes the phone shuts off a little too easily when you hit the hangup button. Like, you should have to hold it for three seconds at least to shut off the phone but sometimes you can hit it for less a second and, "good bye".
Thumbs up! I like it!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

User Review: Poor Voice Quality

phonecritic submitted this review of the Motorola RAZR V3xx:

Overall rating: 3 (out of 5)

Pros:

1. BEAUTIFUL design. This is one of the nicest looking flip phones around, outside of the Razr 2.

2. Strong signal quality. Pairing Motorola with AT and T = rock solid reception. ATT will give you a signal in places smaller companies can't, such as T Mobile.

Cons:

1. Why do Motorola GSM phones have to make callers sound as if they are speaking underwater?

Review:

This is a beautiful and stylish phone with a strong signal on the AT and T network. However, I remain unimpressed with call quality. Voices tend to sound garbled and people often sound as if they are speaking underwater. I know the Blackberry 8300 series sounds pretty good, so I may exchange shortly.

There is beauty on the outside for sure, and there is some beauty inside in terms of signal strength. Only if her voice matched her face...

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I am always having to go back and clear because it picks the wrong word 99% of the time.

Help?

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

timbre submitted this review of the Motorola RAZR V3xx:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

Chose this over the Razr2 because glass
finish of Razr2 shows fingerprints too
much. Have had it 6 months and very happy.
Have the Chrome-Platinum edition which
is a very high-quality piece of work!
Good reception and loud ear-piece.
Clear screen, camera and speakerphone.
Fast command processing - no lags!
Only two things I'd change are bigger
outside screen (should be as big as the
dark outline of the cutout) and extended
battery. Black hard leather case looks
slick too; kind of matches inside black
keypad. Girlfriend has the Chrome-Lavender
which has to be the best looking chick-
phone ever. LONG LIVE MOTO !!!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
