I gave 1 to each of my teenage sons. They love them &amp; are still going strong (the phones &amp; my sons) &amp; they must be about 5 years old now (the phones, not my sons who are 17 &amp; 20). The camera has stopped working on one of them but other than scratches they are excellent. I've tried other phones but keep coming back to my A707. You can also email them to yourself and friends.<br />I've actually washed it and gone through the dryer and had it be OK. Listed below are the pros and cons I found while I had this phone.<br /><br />PROS<br /><br />- red (if you like the color)<br />- good speaker phone and ear piece speaker<br />- ringtones <br />- buttons were easy to press (no sticking or resistance when pushed down to dial a number)<br />- good internal and external displays<br /><br /><br />CONS<br /><br />- dropped calls<br />- low memory on the device<br /><br /><br />I'm giving this phone a four out of five stars because of the dropped calls. Other than that, the phone was great. This phone I had in black, it surely was really durable. It was a great basic phone. Had one of the most beautiful screens ever for a phone. It was easy to use, but not as customizable as the Nokia's I was used to having, eg, you could put pictures on the phone, but could not set them as wallpaper. I could put songs on the phone, but couldn't use them as ringtones. Lots of little irritations. The size of the phone seemed too large to hold comfortably for me. But if you just want a basic phone with a nice screen, this one is great. The resolution is great! As stated above, this is #3. Battery life must be 4 hours when you first...after a month or so I only got 2 or 3. Yes, the baby and I have dropped the phone, which is sturdy until about the 4th time. Once dropped to whatever the capacity is the sound is jacked up. You may or not be able to hear the caller and if so, they cannot hear you and vice versa. I love the keyboard on this phone, it is great for texting. The only thing i dont like is the battery. I text alot so i usally charge mine every other night. Great Features, and to the other people that said that you can only record 30 seconds, you just go to the recording settings and than change it, and than you will be able to record more. One more thing that i dont like is the camera, every time a take a picture it gets lighter when im viewing it. But i reccomend this phone to everybody, i mean every! Phone got left on bumper by relative and ran over by vehicle behind us. Can't get it fixed cause it's out dated. New ones at other websites don't come with warranty. I needed to go into the at&amp;t store about 5 times to get a huge problem fixed. This problem was that at first i couldnt get any text messages, then i could only get them from one phone and one year later i finally got it fixed. Also, i cant set something for when i get a text. One of the only good things about this is that this is one of the phones that you can really personalize. I've regular everyday phones, PDAs, Blackberry but in reality none of them can match this phone. I went for 2 wks w/o my laptop. I was able to access the internet (Netfront &amp; Opera), paid my bills, play music while excercising or just relaxing, acess youtube, chat, make grocery lists, used it overseas with full coverage, wow with so much more.<br /><br />I got my laptop back and I can tether it with better than average speed with so much more. Once again it's simply the best. Check it out if you haven't. I liked it when it came out, but now it's cool-factor has gone down significantly. One nice thing was it's camera, which takes very nice pictures for being 2 megapixels. One not so nice feature about it is during video recording, it will not save your video if the phone is closed on accident. This is rather irritating. It plays music pretty well, and with a memory card you can hold a lot of it. I did not like the inability to assign a tone to replace the sound made when a message is received. That bothered me. My dad's A707's front screen broke at work. Now it just displays a weird orange crack pattern. One thing that bothered me a lot about this phone is the crappy reception it gets. This is my second a707- the first one was replaced by AT&amp;T due to an earpiece failure on my first phone. Have current phone for about a year.<br /><br />Menus- Going from the simple motorola UI, it was confusing going to this Samsung. The menus are deep with many options and it often takes time getting to where you want. <br /><br />Calls- call quality is good but my earpiece volume is VERY LOW. I can barely hear people when I'm outside. Also, about 10 times since i've had it, it had no service while showing me several bars. The speaker is average volume and average quality.<br /><br />Messages- Saves like 500 of them, but theres no option (as far as i can tell) to auto- delete texts. When the inbox is full the phone tells you to delete some texts. Deleting many at a time takes a long time. Like 3-4 minutes to delete 100 texts.<br /><br />Camera- This was the most dissapointing part of the phone for me. I took over 400 pictures with my v635 and I loved the candid shots. With the a707 the camera is VERY SLOW to take a pic. So, despite the 2mp resolution (a major factor in buying the phone)- literally 70% of day-time photos are blurry because it takes 2-3 seconds to snap a shot. With less light it's even worse. Also, it takes way too long for the camera app. to load. If I call someone, it drops the call on an average of 3 times before I am actually able to have a conversation with them. All the gadgets and gizmos that most people would probably want from a phone.
