And the ringer is extremely loud, which is good for me since I'm usually in noisy environments.<br /><br />It is quite bulky though, especially when open. However there are a few limitations.<br /><br />First Pros<br />Lightweight<br />Bright Screen<br />Bluetooth easily transfers between my PC and back<br />Task Switching: This is awesome. I love being able to switch between a text message, a open call, any of the menu screens, the camera, and galleries at any time. And it is just a button on the front. Its genius. This will be the feature i miss most if i get a new phone.<br />3G network i suppose... though i don't use it.<br />Menu screens respond instantly. <br />Battery life. It is rare that I ever see it anything but full. I just charge it every night. And it takes about 20 minutes from there to get a full charge.<br /><br />Cons<br />Its not the best for balance. One handed texting isn't a chore like it is on some phones, but it could be better. <br />The camera is absolute crap. Low light, good light, it doesn't matter, it will suck. <br />Email no gmail = dumb at least i haven't found it.<br />Some of the menu designs are convoluted and unnecessary.<br /><br />My biggest problem with this phone is the audio options. You can turn off the keypad tones but not the confirmation alerts. Thats annoying. There are only 10 text alert tones and they all sound stupid and/or are too quiet. While you can have custom ring tones there are not custom text tones. But by and by far the biggest offense is the lack of Vibration AND tone alerts for text messages. It can vibrate and ring for calls... but not texts. This is stupid because the text sounds are too quiet like I said. It will vibrate in vibrate mode... but then everything else is silent as well. <br /><br />So its an ok phone. I have dropped it on ceramic tile, concrete, and every other surface known to mankind, and most of the time it didn't even come apart, and keeps right on working. The couple of times it has come apart, you just snap the battery back in and she's fine! It's also been dropped in the toilet, and gone through an entire wash and dry cycle. You get it wet, you just take it apart, dry it out and it's fine! I've gone through many cell phones, and never seen anything like the durability!<br /><br />Pros:<br />1. Durability is really amazing<br /><br />2. Nice big buttons<br /><br />3. Decent camera and video player<br /><br />4. Intuitive <br /><br />5. Great for texting or talking<br /><br />6. Reception is above average<br /><br /><br />Cons:<br />1. The darn thing is slippery, or just shaped where it seems to slip out of your hands alot. Good thing it won't break!<br /><br />2. Con's. I dropped 3 calls just minutes ago. My wife dropped 2 calls yesterday.NO camera!NO MP3,No Radio,nothing extera. I paid for a basic phone.It does nothing but phone calls. When I upgraded I thought I was getting a phone with a camera,but AT&amp;T said this phone does not come with a camera,mp3 player,radio,nothing just a phone. The phone is a nice phone but not for 50.00 to upgrade too.I found out after I bouhgt the phone that it has nothing else. It has music and video streaming but I don't use those features. I used the phone for about 8 months then I couldn't charge it. The reason? I bent one of the pins in the charge port. I see this as a DESIGN DEFECT. It's one thing to put pins on a CPU but quite another to put them on a device that you charge every day. Of course Cingular aka/ATT won't replace the phone because I broke it. I have dropped this phone more that 25 time and yes it has some scratches but the phone still works perfectly fine.I was kind of disappointed that it didn't offer a memory expansion car(micro SD). I was also disappointed there was no MP3 player. of now of the PROS and CONS<br /><br />PROS:<br />very loud and clear speaker phone<br />ringtones are also very loud<br />very fast text messageing( im a big texter)<br />camera is great for a regular VGA camera<br />very good reception<br />bluetooth works with any bluetooth capable device.<br />big bright screen<br />keypad feels and works great <br />battery life if the best I've ever had<br />not bulky in your pockets<br /><br />CONS:<br />external buttons are useless when phone closed(except push to talk button)<br />shows fingerprints easily<br /><br /><br /><br />Overall this phone is great. As you can see there is a greater amount of pros compared to cons. i would definatly recomend it. I still have this phone, but im most likely getting a new one not because the phone is bad.. just because im liable for a free upgrade.. so im thinking about upgrading to the Nokia N75. I absolutely love it. I've only had it about a week, but so far so good. <br /><br />Pros:<br /><br />1 - Long Battery Life - Charged Saturday night, it's Wednesday and still says it has a full charge <br /><br />2- Loud speaker volume. I often find myself turning down the volume when I am talking to someone. This is the first phone I've had to do that with and I love it!<br /><br />3 - Great Reception - My house is in a weird spot, I usually have full signal down the street, but hardly any signal at the house. I have a minimum of 3 bars with this phone - YAY!!!<br /><br />4 - Size - The phone is nice and small. A little bigger then my last LG, but smaller then the RAZR I attempted to use (sold it within 2 hours of buying it, lol). It's easy to open with one hand. <br /><br />5 - Button locations - Easy to navigate just by touch. I dont even have to look at the phone when I'm writing a text messege or adjusting the volume.<br /><br />6 - Great Little camera too!<br /><br />7 - Phone Book - I love being able to store more then one phone number per person. Also it's easy to set individual ringtones for each person in my phonebook<br /><br />8 - Ringtones - I didn't care for the ringtones that came with the phone, but it was REALLY easy to create and transfer my own. It only took a $15 BlueTooth adapter for my computer, a free MP3 editor, and about 2 minutes to create and transfer ringtones to the CU400 - CANT BEAT THAT!<br /><br />9 - WONDERFUL, clear, bright display - both inside and out. <br /><br />10 - Clear voice recorder <br /><br />11 - External display shuts off after a couple minutes - saves battery - easy to turn back on <br /><br />12 - Feels sturdy - Looks GREAT<br /><br />13 - The price! Within 2 months, I was back at the store where I purchased it and they replaced the battery because it wasn't holding a charge. It needs to be charged daily and I rarely use the phone. The second battery replacement didn't fix the problem either. I am really frustrated. It is supposed to have a 12 day stand-by, but it only lasts maybe 24 hours. I would not recommend to anyone. After reading all of the positive reviews, however, I'm thinking I may have a dud. The only way to avoid them is to put the phone in the vibrate mode. Also, all the alert tones can not be changed.<br />-If you copy your contacts from the smartchip to the handset, you will have 2 sets of contacts. There is no way to view only the contacts on the handset without erasing them from the smartchip.<br /><br />These are the only two issues I have with the phone. Overall I am very satisfied with the CU400.
