This is my SLVR review!!!

I love this phone! All of the workers at the store recomended it! They spoke the truth!!! This phone works great!!! However, it has a few minor problems.....

*****PRO'S*****

1. GREAT bluthooth!!

2. *DECENT* camera

3. LOVE the design!!!

4. (THIS MAY SOUND WIERD!!!) I LOVE the way the buttons pres!!!! I could sit there and press them all day!!!!!!!!!

*****CON'S*****

1. The camera isn't great... It's ok... But if you need an awesome camera, this phone's not for you...

2. The center buttons pop off VERY easily... But it's all good cuz they will still work, the just turn white and blue!!! (THEY ACTUALLY LOOK PRETTY COOL!!!)

3. The mike is on the side for some reason... So i wouldn't recomend calling in a hurricane...

4. Sometimes people have a hard time understanding me when i talk on my SLVR... But it's nothing major!

I recomend this phone to all!!! The main reason people don't like this phone is cuz the center buttins pop off... BUT ITS' ALL GOOD!!!! THEY STILL WORK!!!!

This concludes my review!!! Bye!!!!!!!!! :)

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

justiN0six submitted this review of the Motorola SLVR L7c:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

This phone is a great phone. Verizon reviews are automatically disqualified due to the fact that all VZW phones blow.

I've never had a problem with this phone...Never... Not once.

Motorola deserves a pat on the back for this phone. They're pretty much screw-ups at this point... Putting out more razrs and such. Poor moto.

This phone is the best thing Motorola has ever put out.

***I've had this phone for nearly a year now

PROS-------------

Battery Life - I can use it for a weekend on one charge, couldn't ask for much more.

The Screen - It's BEAUTIFUL! The screen looks wonderful. Great resolution. Nice and large.

Bluetooth - It's never failed me once. I use it with an earpeice and it works great. I've never had ONE problem..NEVER.. Not once.

Reception - Great reception. Couldn't ask for better reception-especially from an internal antenna.

MP3 player works great - I don't use it myself but I have and have no complaints with it at all.

Call quality - excellent - no complaints at all- with and without a bluetooth earpeice. (And I've asked the other party.) Nice loud speaker as well

CONS-------------

The microphone - It's position is very odd and when held up against your shoulder your cheek will cover it sometimes. Its the only downside of this phone.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

blm1219 submitted this review of the Motorola SLVR L7c:

Overall rating: 3.5 (out of 5)

I've had this phone for a little over six months. Its an okay phone; there are better out there.

Pros:
+ Slim, sleek, very easy to carry around and fits comfortably in my hands.
+ Durable. I've dropped it plenty of times and its perfectly fine.
+ Attractive design. I get compliments on it even after its gotten scratched and beaten up.
+ Keypad is just right for me. I have small hands so its easy for me to text.
+ Additional memory allows me to take longer videos, more pictures, and keep my texts so that I don't get that annoying notification about using up 80% of my inbox.
+ I can answer my phone while the keypad is locked.

Cons:
(Most are pretty minor and may not be a hassle for others)
- Mouthpiece is in an awkward position. The first time I used this phone, the other person couldn't hear me. It wasn't until I looked at the phone that I realized my hand was covering the mouthpiece. Now I usually have to talk on my left side so that the other person can hear me.
- Arrow and center buttons fall off easily. I had to super glue the center button back on two weeks ago and its already falling off again.
- Keypad gets scratched very easily.
- Back is a hassle to take off, and the Micro SD card is underneath the battery, making it even more annoying.
- I have to manually lock this phone. Sometimes I forget and make a strange call to a strange country, or the phone will just speed dial someone. My friend got a call from me during class and she could hear people talking through my jeans. (Which I guess speaks for the mouthpiece...)
- Battery life is horrible. I called Verizon to complain since I still have warranty. Turns out my phone can't hold a charge. They are sending me a replacement.
- Reception is horrible. I used to have perfect reception everywhere with my old LG.

All in all, a stylish phone that might not be worth all the hassle.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Chef Brd-Jason submitted this review of the Motorola SLVR L7c:

Overall rating: 2 (out of 5)

The phone was designed to be ultra thin but staying hot, and they needed to make it this way and tey would put in as many flaws as they needed just to make the phone a hot top seller. originally it was, but after a while it stopped.

Pros;
-nice and thin sleek beautifull design
- 4 hour batter life
-average mp3 player for a phone
- great service for an internal antenna
-beautifull screen
-fast and easy teaxting.

But there is more to the story of how something went from hot to not, and how it dropped and stopped selling for cricket.

Cricket discontinued selling this phone because it was costing them more of replacing them because how poorly they were made.

Cons;
-not even a mega pixel camera
-freezes alot( mostly due to low memory)
-The Buttons was the main issue, they just simply fell off and you cant just snap them back on they were terrible.
-Battery failures occur every so often
+tons of more things you wouldn't even be able to fit in this one single box.

Cricket stopped selling them in their stores and website for a reason, and if you do buy one for cricket service be warned, they will not replace it or even give you a store credit for another phone if you have any problem with it at all. If you do buy it for any other service then research it before you buy it and buy the downgraded version if anything the one with hard buttons and not the razr styled numeric pad. recomended ages 16-18, for more responsible and carefull people but not recomended for business users.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

worldfamoussam submitted this review of the Motorola SLVR L7c:

Overall rating: 2.5 (out of 5)

This phone is cute, it runs well, and it's nicely done overall... until you get to voice quality.

What absolutely, totally, and completely 100% ruins this handset is the placement of the microphone. Unless you hold it up to your right ear with no wind whatsoever and very little background noise, nobody can hear a word you're saying. It's frustrating to have to keep repeating yourself - especially because Verizon is generally a good network for voice quality.

Everything else about this phone is pretty great - except the somewhat cramped keypad design. It's easy to accidentally hit soft keys when you're trying to send a text.... but that mic destroys the utility of the phone.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

BUT do not buy this phone if you just want a phone for video capture, because the video capture is horrible.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

davegm submitted this review of the Motorola SLVR L7c:

Overall rating: 3.5 (out of 5)

Pro's - I get the best reception I ever had. I never had MetroPCS service before and that may be part of it. I used to not receive calls and drop calls in my home ALL THE TIME because of bad coverage and a steel roof (I think). WHY DO YOU OWN A CELL PHONE? TO USE IT!

Con's - Why do Motorola engineers go backward? The jack for the charger and the earphone is the same. I would like to meet that IDIOT ENGINEER!!! What happens if you are driving down the road with the headset and your battery runs down. Plug in the car charger (which in my case does not work unless you keep pressing it into the lighter socket) and hold the phone to your ear and get a traffic ticket or accident! IDIOT MOTOROLA ENGINEERS, don't go backwards! Also, this jack is on the side of the phone. One thing I loved about my Nokia 6230 is that I had a charging cradle so I could charge a battery in the cradle and the one in phone at the same time. SMART NOKIA ENGINEERS!!! Also, the Nokia was not limited to 1000 contacts on the Motorola? I deleted a few and they still would not download when I got it under 1000! IDIOT MOTOROLA ENGINEERS!!! It has a bunch of memory, what business it is of some idiot engineer to judge how many contacts you put into your phone as long as there is lots of memory. It is a phone, not a picture album or IPOD. Also, Motorola GETS you for another 35 dollars for crappy software to transfer contacts from Outlook. This software was responsible for losing my 1000 contacts! Then, my backup service did not work. Luckily, a business colleague had 99% of them for me to rebuild with. Nokia's comes with the software or you can download for FREE! So, why did I not get the Nokia? Because MetroPCS has a very limited selection of phones. It will be good news if their offer to buy Leap Communications goes through which will put them in the largest 200 markets in the US. But, CDMA does not work in most of the rest of the world so choose carriers wisely. GOOD LUCK!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

But as long as you treat it right you should be set.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

The mouthpiece is located on the side of the phone instead of being located on the bottom like most phones. You have to hold the phone at a rather uncomfortable position just to be heard or use your left hand but my sister is a left handed person and still people could not hear her either. Plus it froze on my twice, I pressed a button released it and the phone kept beeping anyway like I was still holding the button down but I wasn't and only having the phone for two days the key pad stopped lighting up properly, example if I press number 5 it wont light up but if I press another button it will and it was more than number 5 that wasn't working. That was disappointing but the most disappointing part was the mouthpiece being on the side of the phone and having to be in a uncomfortable position just to be heard.....its very annoying and even though I liked the size and colorful screens on this phone I had to get it exchanged.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Vehemoth submitted this review of the Motorola SLVR L7c:

Overall rating: 1 (out of 5)

Where to begin? This phone is utter crap in terms of practicality. I can't stop finding things I dislike about it. I'll start with CONS:

For texters:
-No t9 word (iTAP instead; worse, in my opinion).
-Tiny keys = slow and painful texting.
-CRAMPED keys = constant typo frustration
-No way to set default texting mode to anything other than ABC (have to switch for every text if you do happen to like iTAP). Even if there is an option, it's very well hidden from the user and makes the phone a frustration from the get-go.

Everything else:
-One USB port for everything from charging to bluetooth to computer hookup (adapter required, though included, for bluetooth)
-A stingy 18MB memory for mp3s; about three or four songs. You can expand it with a whopping 64MB card if you want, but you have to turn the phone off and take the battery out to even install it.
-VERY. SLOW. SOFTWARE. It takes a half a second or more to switch to any program or menu. It's egregious.
-Screen is extremely sensitive and gets smudged and scratched far too easily.
-Camera quality and resolution are aggravatingly terrible.
-Difficult to hear the other person if there's any sound at all around you; crickets and an air conditioning unit outside drowned out my call.
-Weak vibrate; difficult to feel, even in my front pocket while sitting.
-Very easy to accidentally drop due to sleekness; virtually no grip.
-A "smart button" is on the left side of the phone directly below the volume keys, but I have yet to figure out what it even does. I checked the accompanying manual and all it told me about the mysterious button was its name.
-Apparent low bat. life; one 30-min call from a full charge = 1 bar gone
-Countless others that I lost track of.

And now for the PRO:

-It looks good?

Really. That's it. I'll be returning this phone within the week I bought it.

Do NOT buy this phone unless you only use a cellphone for making calls in quiet areas where you can readily charge it when it starts to die.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Machka submitted this review of the Motorola SLVR L7c:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

This phone is one of my personal favorites because of it's great look and outstanding performance.

PROS:
-Looks
-Interface or whatever it's called
-The reception is pretty good I guess. I'm with Alltel in Minnesota though so in the Twin Cities area it gets a little worse.
-Pretty much everything else
-The battery life is OK. Mine usually lasted around 3-4 days and I texted and called on it moderately.

CONS:
-Well I don't know much about Micro SD cards and stuff but the place to put the SD card in this phone is (1) behind the battery and (2) hard to understand. So I may be a little slow with that but I didn't get it.
-I don't like locking the keys every time I get done texting or calling but I got over it fast. -The predictive text can be a little frustrating at times when it just won't get your words right but it's easy to get used to.

So, if you're thinking about getting this phone I'd say go for it. It's a great phone that you won't get sick of fast.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

fotomat70 submitted this review of the Motorola SLVR L7c:

Overall rating: 1 (out of 5)

I used to work for Cricket and sold the SLVR. And if I had to choose between the two I would take the T509 any day of the week and twice on Sunday over the SLVR.

I'll start with the one CON that I have with the T509. The speaker is too soft, I don't always hear it ring when I am in the car, but I fixed that by getting a Bluetooth earpiece.

Now the PROS vs the SLVR.

T509
Durability, my T509 has gone into the dogs water dish and come out working (I took the battery out right away and let it sit for two days to dry out first.) It has been dropped and still works including the charging port.

SLVR
This phone looks great and even feels more durable than the T509 but it has some serious durability issues. I had multiple people who had the phone have the center button come off and get lost. If you do happen to drop it the phone will break an internal connection at the charging port, so then you won't be able to charge it anymore. Now if you do that before the warranty is up and the phone has been in a case then great! It's only a $40 fee to get a new one, but if it looks like the phone has been dropped or even gone through normal use no warranty coverage, hope you have insurance.

Ease of Use
The T509 is head and shoulders above the SLVR. For example, I can set up a Bluetooth device in 15 secs or less on my T509. The SLVR takes about 2 mins and that is if it works the first time! And I was trained on how to set the Motorola phones up! No training for the Samsung, didn't need it.

MP3
Yes the T509 doesn't have an MP3 player built in, but it also doesn't drain the battery or shorten the overall life of it. So my phone works when I want to use it as a phone! The SLVR drains the battery and reduces the overall life of the battery because it heats up when using the MP3 player. Not to mention 95% of the people I sold the phone to couldn't get the thing to work, even after reading the manual.

The T509 is way above the SLVR, no comparison!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
