Really nice phone
I have nothing but compliments for this phone. I love it!! Obviously, the QWERTY keyboard I would say is my preferred feature on this phone. Texting is very easy.
Call quality is great. The speakerphone is nice and loud. The VZ navigator is really cool. It really saved me last week when I was completely lost in LA and running late for an appointment.
Please don't compare the enV to a smartphone
First of all, please don't compare the enV to a smartphone, they're in 2 different categories. Just to let you know, the enV is a regular phone and most regular phones don't do all the multi-tasking a smartphone can do. Please know what you're getting yourself into before you buy a phone. Now onto my review of the phone.
Pros:
1. Good overall phone.
2. Camera is awesome, still miss the quality of the vx8000 though =).
3. The extra stuff that does come with the phone are pretty cool.
4. Stereo bluetooth =), let's see your xv6700 do that.. hahahaah..
Cons:
None that I can think of so far.
Good functionality....sound quality falls short
Ok, this is my first non-flip phone ever. That being said its also my third LG phone in a row.
I love the messaging capability of the qwerty keyboard and will have a hard time ever going back to a normal phone for texting.
Sorry to say though.... the sound quality for the ear piece on this phone is horrible at best. I find it extremely hard hearing with the slightest bit of backround noise present and even struggle with absolute silence. The ear speaker just seems like 50 year old technology. Its a shame with so many other good features.
Another problem i have is the size of the cursor arrow button. Its just a bit small (and i don't have fat fingers).
Last but not least no speaker phone with the phone shut??? Oh yeah, and the screen on the front is waaayyy too small. They could have utilized wasted real estate on the front to increase that screen size significantly.
I know this sounds resoundingly negative... but a phone needs to be a phone first. I'm most likely going to return it for something else...
Oh, on a positive note...chics dig the phone big time.
As good as it gets!
This is a good as it gets folks if you are looking for a non PDA phone but secretly wishes it was a PDA....
PROS:
-Text messaging is easy and smooth with the nice keypad layout and full QWERTY board
-Sleek and slim look
-Beautiful clear display
-Excellent call quality
-Good battery life
CONS:
-Wish they had made the beautiful screen a tad larger.
-A longer battery life would be nice
Overall, the PROS far out weight any cons. This is a really cool phone. You'll understand when you get it.
Nice Phone
Nice phone got it 5-8-07 and i think it is wonderful. Pictures are crystal clear, speaker phone is very loud, bluetooth works great. I had the Samsung u740 for one day (what a mistake), took it back and got the enV WHAT a difference. If you are going to get the Samsung u740 or the enV, GET the enV you won't be sorry.
Great Phone!
This is probably the best phone I've ever owned. I have owned every LG phone from the VX-6000 - Vx-9900 besides the 7000 and 9400. This and the 9800 were my 2 favorites. My least favorite has to be the chocolate 8500. I love all the bluetooth profiles on this phone. I use the FTP profile alot to transfer pix and flix to and from my computer. It has great battery life I play with it nonstop and only have to charge once every 3 days or so, with a standard 950mah OEM battery. I have never lost service although I am in a very strong signal area(Detroit, MI) All glitches and bugs were recently cleared up by the V02 firmware update. The only con I have found is the music player isn't A+ but it gets the job done. I was it had the minimizable music player of the chocolate but this music player isn't so bad I can live with it for now.
Don't be Jealous...of my EnV!!
Just get your own! I highly recommend this phone. It's the most lightest and superbe looking phone you can get with a full QWERTY keyboard. Text messaging is so nice and convenient. Speakerphone is loud enough. Call quality is awesome. Camera takes excellent pictures.
Cons: Your friends will be EnV-ious...:)
Awesome Phone
I have had this phone for a couple of months and have been extremely happy. I read all the reviews at this site for several different phones and decided on this one. The only issue that I have is the speaker phone only working with the phone open. The camera is great and I love typing on the keyboard. I haven't downloaded songs or anything like that yet so no comment. I would encourage anyone that likes to text to get this phone.
