Not as great as everyone says..

Jul 6, 2007 by angelic2806

I dont understand why people are so into this phone. It's not THAT great.
Yes, I love that it plays music and its small. But it breaks WAY WAY WAY too easily. Seriously, if you have slippery fingers or not it will end up breaking on you within a year.
I am on my 5th Chocolate.
My Chocolate I have now is breaking. The two parts are de-attaching.
So if you want a phone that breaks extremely easily, then this phone is for you.
But don't get me wrong, this phone is good, but not at all amazing.

Pros: It's small. It's nice looking. It has good quality.
Cons: It breaks in less then a year.

terrible phone

Got rid of my 9800 for this phone which was a mistake cut it is a piece of garbage. After 2 weeks of owning it, the touch screen buttons went haywire and started doing random things. When I slid it up it would call random people. Phone was too small and easy to drop. Sold this and bought a 9900 which is the best phone verizon has right now. It had decent battery life but that was about it. The chocolate is by far the worst phone I ever had.

Just wanted to comment on the chocolate phone. Mine is through Verizon Wireless, I have the Strawberry Chocolate. You had commented on there being no speakerphone. Actually there is, anytime you are dialing, connected, or in the middle of a call, your camera button on the side is the speakerphone. It took me a long time to find it but while on a call I just started pushing buttons and found it. My old phone I just used to be able to hold down the clear button and speakerphone would come on. Hope that helps whomever couldn't find that!!!

Thanks!!
Sandy

Great Phone

I have no problem with this phone other than the VCast coverage which really has nothing to do with the phone it's the carrier. But I love verizon and I love this phone. I work at RadioShack and have had experience selling Verizon and Cingular, I have yet to see Cingular top the Chocolate in style, coverage, and price. Some people put that they didn't like it because the black chocolate doesn't have speakerphone but if you take it to a Verizon corporate store they can load software into the phone that gives you a speakerphone option while you are on a call. I have had the black one now i have the green, my sister has the white, and my friend has the pink. The black is a smudge factory but it has an awesome look to it. The white, pink and green don't show finger prints as bad. But seriously I've feel in love with the phone I'm not sure I'll ever want another!

Pros.
-Great signal
-great voice pickup people can hear my music in my car VERY clearly when it's on volume level 2
-good pictures but it's still a phone they aren't mean't to be printed
-Great price
-Love the MP3 Music Player
-Loud Ringtones
-Awesome design for the exterior of the phone and interior!

Cons.
-Bluetoothing from one phone to another is blocked that's not the phone though that's Verizon's doings

This Phone Rocks!

This phone is great!

The Chocolate has serious reception, more screen customizations than your usual Verizon phone, and the size and form factor are very cool--it feels unobtrusive in a pair of jeans after a winter of overeating!

It keeps connections where my old Samsung SCH A-930 and Motorola Q, and my girl's RAZR V3 all dropped calls routinely. When I'm on a crowded elevator, I watch others lose their calls while I stay connected.

And did I mention it's just plain COOL?? It features a touch technology that takes some getting used to (a couple days) and the number keys are smallish, yet work fine with my upright bass-playing fingers, but may be tough on long nails. Battery life also suffers when you use the Bluetooth feature constantly as I do.

Pros: Reception, reception, reception! And this phone is as cool as a cell phone gets in terms of form factor, features, and operation.

Cons: Battery life is a tad low--210 minutes would be considered almost fair, but with the Bluetooth feature on, the battery drained too quickly. I found a new battery with 50% more power for $10.

Thought not perfect, I gave this cell phone the highest possible rating as I've owned them all and I am happiest with this cell phone by far.
