The BEST of the BEST

Feb 23, 2007 by papaG

I would normaly not give a 5 on anything but I traded in my samsung sync A707 for the W800I and couldnt be more pleased.
It has not only the best camera of any phone, but all of the editing software is beyond what I have on my stand alone camera.
But this is mainly a phone, I travel 5 days a week, and work from my phone it has to have the following requirements:
Great connectivity in fringed area's not just Good.
Good clarity
Loud enough to hear Calls
Small and compact
and Great battery life not good but Great!

This phone meets all of those, plus gives great options as to fm radio, Tv, email, and many other options... stand alone mp3 player ( wish sony would go to the standard sd memory although memory is memory...) the only con I have is myself, for taking to much time tinkering with all of the options instead of reading the manual!
The operations are not as simple as my old nokia 6230...another work horse of a phone.

Over all I love both this and my w300i flip phone version of this tremendous work of art.
Kudos to Sony Ericsson you have me sold!

Best non-3G phone

Feb 22, 2007 by jjgreene

This phone is perfect all around if you like bar style phones, and can do without 3G, GPS, and wifi.......This is a very very impressive phone though, reception, battery life, etc......

Great

I have no regrets buying this phone. This is the first phone I have owned that I cant complain about :-) I would recommend this phone to anyone who wants a quality handset.

I love this phone!

Feb 18, 2007 by brandyinpink

Pros:
-Stylish exterior and phone interface. I love the matte black candy bar phone(it feels good to the touch) with the pretty interface that you can change to your liking; and I love how fast you can pan through the menu.
-2 MP camera. It's great for a camera phone. I love every picture I take it with it. I'm proud to have it as my phone.
-The mp3 player sounds FANTASTIC! It comes out of the speakers great, and the earphones sound nice too. I love using the mp3 player when I'm cleaning. The FM radio picks up great as well!
-Bluetooth! This is great, you can send pictures through bluetooth to other sony phones and it has come in handy lately! (you can send it infrared but I haven't tried it)

Cons:
-The brightness of the screen drives me crazy. I have it turned all the way down and it's still too bright for my eyes.
-My biggest complaint is that the volume when you make a phone call is really hard to hear. I can't use it when I am traveling because of road noise.

Overall, I love this phone. The only thing I don't like is the volume, it should be a bit louder. I have owned Nokia and the hiptop 2 and had no problem with phone volume until now. Otherwise, I adore this phone! :) The only reason I am replacing it is because I want to upgrade! This phone is great, it feels good in my hands, it's small and stylish. I am so glad I purchased this phone to replace the hiptop 2.

w810i Review

The W810i is solid. Pros and cons with misc notes listed below:

USING CINGULAR in TAMPA, FL.
Call quality decent, not perfect

Pros:
good camera 2.0 mega pixel
sharp screen
good speaker volume for music
plays music
photos can be tied to text msg or caller
shortcut keys can be assigned
FM radio

cons:
keypad is small
screen is small
cingular branding

Summary: The most cost effective, all around featured phone that I could find.

Misc:
Amazon deal on phone has restrictions
volume rocker can advance songs and show memory status
shortcut set to bright light LED flashlight
pc software good for contact management. transfer songs manually is good
music dj included is fun
good alarms for call reminder and wakeup
press directional pad to invoke screen saver during long call

BODY GLOVE CASE WITH HOLES FOR CAMERA AND SPEAKER from UK a MUST! Better than krussell in my opinion.

remote control for use pointing device with laptop
depress joystick button to answer yes for menus
tapping camera button advances to next picture for taking
predictive text available
vibrate feature
speaker phone not the best

Wow. Thats all I can say

By far the best phone Ive owned. The battery life is outstanding.
The amount of features on this phone is absolutely endless. I cant even say that I have used half of them, and Im a teenager with a hunger for new technology. The phones music player plays very clearly and the speakers on the phone are pretty good quality.
The only bad thing that Ive noticed about the phone is I dont really like the fact that its a bar phone. I always forget to lock the keys when I place it in my pocket and it always presses buttons in my pocket. Theres one button on the side of the phone that plays music, I accidently pressed this button in school once and even if your phone is on silent mode it still plays music. That kind of stinks.
Another bad thing is the phone can get scratched in your pocket easily because there is no protection for the screen.

PROS: The screen is soo colorful and bright, camera is amazing, small and light, battery life, good looking phone, speakers, mp3 player

CONS: bar phone, small buttons, headset volume is just ok, the music button that plays music if accidently pressed in your pocket (even if the phone is on silent mode)

Bottom line. This is the best phone Ive owned, ever. I recommend it to everybody if you really like compact phones with an endless list of features.

Awesome!

This was my first Sony Ericsson. I have used many different phones and have yet to find one that had as many features and was able to hold a signal as well as this one! Read the specs and you'll be convinced that for the money you cant beat it. I had to deduct .5 due to the lack of ear-piece / ringer volume. Its not awful but it could be slightly louder sometimes. If you do decide to invest your money in this one be sure to pick-up some egrips from egrips.com at slap it on there because this phone has a tendency to slip right out of your hand. I scratched the screen when I first bought it (I was livid to say the least) but hey it still works great.

Made me forget about my lost SLVR

Jan 25, 2007 by quinoanut

I am really happy with this phone overall.

Pros:
-great sound on walkman
-great radio, which also works w/ speaker as long as you have the headset plugged in.
-Camara, awesome for a phone
-Flashlight (who thought of that??)
-It's quick, compared to my last phone which I thought was sluggish when you hit the keys.

Cons
-It doesn't come with the USB cable to transfer data
-Some of the controls are difficult to figure but I guess you will have this when a small item does so much.
-Calls are sometimes difficult to hear, as is the ring (volume during headset calls okay)
-Battery life, I don't know what everyone else is talking about, I have to charge mine every day regardless of whether or not I use it.
-Yep, a few dropped calls, reception no better than my SLVR.

Sony does a great job with their Cell Phones!

Okay, I have went from a sony ericsson s710 to a sony 600 to this phone. I did have the w300 for a short while but was quite unimpressed with their lower end model. You get what you pay for. However, every model of sony phones that I have had, (excluding w300) has gotten nothing but better and better. Here are my pros and cons.

Pros
Nice small size
Still has big screen
Crystal Clear graphics
Great 2mp camera
Expandable memory!!
Great reception
Easy to use
I love sony's software
Superb sound with the music player
Lots of additional features than other phones
very fun and unique

now the
Cons
unlike w600 cannot use songs directly for ringtones
Have to custom cut songs down to 20sec or so
bar phone so a little unprotected
not as loud as the w600 but sound is just as good or better
Less speakers than w600
and that's about it.

I would definitely recommend this phone to anyone. It's easy to use, it's fun, and sony does a great job making it very user friendly. The camera will blow you away! Sony Ericsson Carrier FOR LIFE!
