Very Good Phone

Sep 15, 2006 by Conway1

I own almost every phone that Verizon has out and I am very picky on what they can and can't do. Quality is also a major factor. This phone is a really nice small phone. The battery has great life and the sound quality is also great. The build appears to be as solid as any other device VZW has to offer. Reception is very good. I live in a border area for reception and it performs very well. The finish on the phone is like the Chocolate. Smudges, etc. are visible. Camera is not top notch but just fine for the stuff usually shot with a phone.

If your looking for a good phone with most of the features of the rest then check this one out.

Poor Performance

The Nokia 6215i is one of the worst Nokia phones I have ever had. The hinge seems to me it can break at any time and very poor signal strength even with the internal and external antenna. It does have a good screen resolution and other great features but overall this phone would cause anyone to get frustrated just with the poor performance. I would definitely recommend on getting a different phone.

Terrible, take any other phone over this

I cannot believe Nokia chose to brand this thing. As many may already know, this phone is actually made by Pantech, but branded as a Nokia for marketing.

PROS:
-Black color makes it look semi-cool
-Good size and weight

CONS:
-The screen is way too small, which normally isn't a problem, but the Verizon UI menu icons fill half the screen and leave almost no room for a wallpaper or to see the options in each submenu. Options with a long name wont fit on the screen.
-It appeared that only 2-3 lines of text (maybe 4 in some spots) are visible at a time.
-The dialing font is way too small and does not increase when set on large.
-Reception is mediocre
-Feels flimsy

I'll admit, I never bought this phone, but tried it out in a store for 20 minutes. That said 20 minutes was long enough to know that there are better options available for Verizon customers. If a phone is to be labeled as basic it should be easy to use and have features such as a large font, and easy to navigate menus. This one fails at both. The Verizon UI is a nearly unavoidable feature on Verizon's new phones so it's hardly worth listing as a con. However, on almost every other Verizon phone with this UI, the dialing font is huge and the menu options are at least readable. If you're looking for a basic Nokia, look for the upcoming 2366i, which is a true Nokia and has the Nokia interface. If price is the deciding factor, you can still get better phones in this price range such as the LG VX-5200/5300, the Motorola V325 or Samsung A870.
