best phone sold

This is my second LG phone. Love all the features. Resecptition is BEST!!! Have used others not as good. BlueTooth works Great. Menu is great. Easy to read diplay. Go days before charging. Could'nt ask for any better phone and service. Will be changing Wife and Daughters phone over to LG 300 can't wait to use PTT feature. Sure it will be just as GREAT!!!!!!

ok... but big leap for LG

This phone does NOT have 1.3 mega pix camera, VGA... Pros are large button layout and overall nice design. Personally, I don't like the faux color picture on the outer display, should have just left it monochrome. Strong sturdy feel to it.

I can't believe LG actually let this one loose.

My strongest advice. Stay away from this trainwreck.

Pros: Good speaker phone, Push to talk is cool no matter what, Bluetooth works as it should. (better range than my 6682 even!)

Cons:
Screen: Main: The screen is dim, slow to respond even when warm. Ghosting abounds. External: Not even a "true" LCD. Though they want to make you think it is. They have a cheap static "clouds" background that is nothing more than a translucent plastic peice the backlight shines through. Much like those early FisherPrice toys for kids.

Camera: The 640x480 camera is a very sad on this phone, its almost useless. The "flash" on the phone is to say the least, a hilarious joke. I navigated to the camera feature, saw flash and thought, GREAT, finally a flip with a flash. Sorry folks. It's not a "flash" It's a ultra bright white LED that turns on and STAYS on washing out anything the poor performing camera could ever hope to capture. Build: It's a weighty phone for a flip, but the flip is still chinsy feeling. A couple times I nearly thought it broke when I had to hold it w/ my shoulder. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Candybar phones rule. Period. I don't understand the attraction to these ugly, flimsy flips..

Speakerphone: Yeah, it's a con to. The thing does sound good, don't get me wrong, nice deep sound, very true to life. Of course, the my nokia 6682 does this just as well, and it doesn't require a huge speaker slapped to the front of it to make it happen. I suppose LG just needed to put something on the phone that would grab every bit of dust and debris it can.

Customization: Beyond ringtones, and some crummy wallpapers, forget about it. The menus are about as spartan as they come. Forget about lots of the features you are used to with quality products like Nokia and Motorola.

I have nothing against LG, I liked the 1400 alot. But lets face it. Sometimes you hit it dead on and sometimes you miss by a mile.
This one missed by a few hundred of them.

Alarm

I upgraded to this phone because the alarm on my old phone stopped working.

The sound and quality are great and I like the nature ring tones, however, it doesn't seem to have SNOOZE on the alarm!

Also, I have been unable to customize the set up/display. The menus seem to be set in stone! It conveniently pops up to the Cingular Mall as the first pick if it is icon view OR list view.

Sorry to say, I will be returning this phone to find one with the camera feature and snooze option.

CG300 Bluetooth Lacks Functionality

Apr 19, 2006 by rworden

The Bluetooth on this phone is virtually useless! I just bought 2 of these BECAUSE the phone has Bluetooth so I can download my address book into the phone... Problem is that the phone is only capible of printing to a Bluetooth printer and connecting to a headset - there is NO support for computer interface for downloading contacts, schedule, midi or picture files.

Other than that, it's a great feeling phone. I was in the store choosing between the CG300 and the other Bluetooth-enabled PTT phone, the Samsung D357; and, ended up choosing the LG for it's look and feel. The buttons are easier to feel and push and the camera takes pretty darn good pictures (significanly better than the Motorola phone I was getting rid of). So, rather than getting one LG and one Samsung, I ended up getting both LGs. Then to get home and discover the complete lacking of significant Bluetooth function... Thank goodness for Cingular's 30-day retrun policy or I'd be cancelling my service with them right now for false advertising.
