They got it right with this one!!!!!!!!!

Jan 9, 2006 by ratboy66

Wow Nextel/Sprint took the Verizon Wireless Treo 650 right out of my hands. Getting the Treo 650 which is one of the best handhelds in the market and Verizon Wireless is one of the premier carriers. However when my wife mentioned that she was intrested in a Nextel Blackberry 7100i, we both ended up with one. We both agree that this is one of the most exciting, useful devices that we have ever seen.

Pros:2way radio,BB messenger free incl in data plan, MMS SMS, Photo gallery,Sure type,Tele Nav or Mapquest 10.00 or 3.99 with Mapquest basic.Free weather, games, rigtones,Supersonic speakephone,Oustanding email capability & ability to copy most sim cards used in your prior Nextel phone.

Con:Plastic feel, but who cares be careful...if you break it buy another one.The deductible is $100.00 in MI and you can grab one on ebay from $150.00 to $200.00

What a powerful tool!

RIM has developed a great tool, and I am glad that NEXTEL has picked it up. Smaller than all previous NEXTEL versions and much lighter, it is a joy to work with. After running over the learning curb on using the keypad, the rest is very workable. The ability to read attachments without a subscription service is a savings. The TELNAV feature (For $10 month) is like having ONSTAR or a $1000 GPS at your fingertips!

Only downside was the lack of .wav ringtones. You would think the technology is there to add this feature, which has really pushed many 'new' Blackberry customers. I was shocked that the cost was not an issue with them as much as a lack of .wav tones. Maybe there will be a firmware upgrade to fix that. Then the 7100i would be perfect!

The Best Nextel Phone Yet!!!

Oct 25, 2005 by chris434

THIS PHONE HAS BE THE BEST NEXTEL PHONE OUT YET. I JUST GOT IT TODAY 10/24/05 AND I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN. IT'S SMALL AND COMPACT UNLIKE THE OLD BLACKBERRY NEXTEL HAD. IT DOES EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING BUT TAKE PICTURES.
PROS:
-BLUETOOTH
-BIG SCREEN
-GREAT KEYPAD
-GOOD RECEPTION(NEXTEL)
-COMPACT
CONS:
-TRACKWHEEL CAN BE ALITTLE ANNOYING AFTER A WHILE.
-NAVIGATION GETS TO BE CONFUSING

BUT OTHER THAN THOSE LITTLE THINGS THE PHONE IS GREAT I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PHONE TO ANYBODY!

Great Unit.

What a great unit. I have had many Nextel units, both Blackberry and non, and I really like this unit. It feels great both for emailing as well as talking/DC people.
The screen looks great, stil getting used to the new stle keyboard but i am quickly learning how it works.

Pros
- Blue Tooh
- Bright screen, very crisp.
- Good Battery Life
- Same Great Blackberry Email Push technology.
- PTT moved to side to make DC easier.
- Great Nextel reception.
- Copy phone book from sim card.

Cons
- Feels more plastic, less durable then i would expect. Feels cheaper.

I have had the unit less then 5 days and already I noticed on the top back corner, where the antenna is, my unit has popped apart. This is bad cause when it is out like that, the antenna is not making contact on the board. I am still trying to debate if i should send it back or super glue it. Hopefully this is just my unit and not a production or manufacturers issue. The data also seems to be fast on the unit when browsing web pages or sending/receiving email. I also like the fact you can copy your phone book from a sim card. Finally. If your a blackberry user, and can get used to a new keyboard lay out. GET ONE.

LOVED IT FOR 3 DAYS

This 7100i I absolutely had to get the day it came out. I am also a T mobile customer and loved the 7100t..but needed nextel for all my two-way buddies! At any rate, I keep up with all the new phones out there. Infact, I have to have a new phone...prior to it being released!! I have spent 12,340 dollars on phones this year alone.
Why doesnt rim/nextel (or any other carrier) higher me? Why not have a 71oo series blackberry..that really does it all. I mean all the bells and wistles. Camera, Push Email, Video capture, MP3, highspeed web brower, Phone, bluetooth, I mean EVERYTHING under the sun. I thought the blackberr was the bomb. Then tonight, a buddy sent a picture and ask for me to send a picture back and for the first time I didnt have a camera! (i am not a big fan of camera phones) However..IT WOULD BE GREAT TO HAVE ALL FEATURES>>>>FINALLY! I can be reached at Wescott23@aol.com
