Wonderfully Awesome

Sep 20, 2006 by BRTurner82

I have had my phone for about a week now, and I must say that I am totally in awe.

I upgraded from the 6255 to this phone. I must say that if you like the 6255, then you are sure to LOVE this phone. I am not sure what carriers are going to get this phone, but I am with Cellular South..

Wow ~

Attended a event for Cellular South last night. Person next to me had this phone and let me check it out. The vibrant screen and the quailty of the phone itself sold me and I didn't place a call. Nokia has stepped up it's product with this phone.

That's a cool PHONE!!!

Jun 17, 2006 by idreamoutloud

This is the newest handset in the Telus line, and its a North America exlusive!!
Something for all those Verizon users to be jealous of.... heh heh

Pros

- 2 megapixel Camera is unbelievable. Its hard to tell this is a cell phone camera
- The flash is bright enough to actually make a difference.
- Huge memory capacity, I have a 2gig card in mine.... thats 3966 pictures or 2 hours of movie.
- Display turns 90 degrees when taking photos, makes for good landscape photos
- Small, light weight package.
- Beautiful display
- MP3 Player
- Good speaker phone
- OBEX enabled
- Ring and Vibe at the same time.
- Nokia dependability
- Equipped with Analog
- Its got Snake 3

Cons
- No EVDO

This phone is a great bargin on the Telus system. Its more affordable then the RAZR, A950, & LG8100. All in all its a great package. I'm so happy to see Nokia & Telus back working together.

I work for a wireless company in Canada and was informed that we will not be stocking this phone in store because of know issues with no resolution date.

The main parts of the phone (the phone, the camera, texting) all work fine, however, there are major issues with the downloading capabilities and are not scheduled to be fixed.

I don't know how many sales reps know about this or will be willing to tell you when they are trying to make a sale. Just beware of what your buying.

The 6265i has too many defects

Oct 5, 2006 by CellPhoneTester

Want a reliable cell phone ? Forget this 6265i. My Nokia 2025i is a superb phone in everyway. Criteria of a good cell phone:

1. a very readable screen with a clear date and time. No obnoxious distracting background.

2. Usable speakerphone with adequate volume

3. a phone which will not power off unexpectedly on a charged battery.

4. Display is not blindingly bright at night.

But, this 6265i:

1. The date and time are virtually unreadable. Date font is small, the time font is thin and elongated. The colored background pictures further hinder readability. The font is NOT user adjustable. There is no remedy.

2. Each and every one of the limited four background "themes" hinder visibility and readability of the Contact List and other screens. Sadly, one cannot choose a plain white or other solid color background.

3. The screen is too bright for safe use when in a car at night. It is blinding. There's no way for a user to adjust that brightness. There's only a "time-out".

4. The speakerphone circuit is defective. The volume is inadequate for use in a car, and half the time is not audible. The frequent times it's inaudible, one must place the call again and switch to speakerphone. This defect has been found in four out of four 6265's tested !!! The 2125i has a fine speakerphone which works consistently, and even with the 6265i speakerphone volume maxed at 10, it is not as loud as the 2125i at the minimum "1" volume.

5. The phone gets only 70-90 minutes of talk time using the battery supplied with the phone.

6. The phone shuts off suddenly when simply sliding the front piece to its normal position.

7. The central button is too recessed and/or needs to be larger. The single-handed user will use the thumb and frequently not get the MENU. If right-handed will get the Calendar, and if left-handed, will get CREATE MESSAGE.

I've had this phone for only a week.

Nokia 6265i from Telus

Sep 22, 2006 by jayski

Now i've only had the phone for 4 days, but its been great, easy to use. but one thing...

BEWARE TELUS USERS: you cannot set your mp3 as a ringtone!!! telus has blocked it! I've searched the internet high and low, and there are ways around this, but they involve hacking the phone, and getting illegal software, and ofcourse whe you've just purchased a $300 phone, the last thing you want to do is start messin with its settings.

other then that, works great, service is good so far, havent been out of the city yet, i picked up a kingston 1gig mini sd from tiger direct for $43.99, and the head phone adapter from The source for $7.99, and i've basically got a great mp3 player for road trips!

kinda sucks that telus doesnt include the usb cord, rogers does on their phones...

nice phone, not user friendly!

This is a pretty decent phone, don't get me wrong, great reception, removable storage is fantastic, camera works great, and you can drag & drop music & converted video files right into it. That being said, here are the downsides...
It's WAY too big & heavy, the battery life when using mp3 player only lasts about 5 hours, & the batteries are a pain to change, especially if you use the snap on faceplates. Sound quality with a bluetooth stereo headset is terrible, can't distinguish between s's & f's, & I've tried the headset with my stereo & it's adapter, no problems. Slightly better with platronics 610, but not excellent, speakerphone is not loud enough in noisy environments, voice dialing is impossible, (even my carriers didn't know how to set it up!) I had an LG 5550 before, & I liked it much better. The carrier told me Nokia's voice recognition software is terrible, I'm a believer, next time I'll by LG. BTW, the external speaker for the mp3 is actually quite loud, ironically!
