I think that these phones a junk.
I returned the first phone because the master volume would turn completely off for no apparent reason and I was missing calls and alarms. This happened 5 or 6 times in a two week period. I had the same problem with the replacement phone only once in about two weeks and decided to return it for a different phone. When I removed the phone from the case last night, I noticed that the front LCD had a funny looking display on it and nothing else. I returned the phone to Verizon today and they said that I must have damaged the screen and that they would not take it back for exchange. They said that Samsung would not give them credit for the phone and that that particular phone cost them $200.00 from Samsung, (yeah, right). I told them that I had not dropped or abused the phone in any way and that the screen had just gone bad. They said that they could tell that the screen had been hit by the look of the form on the display even though there was no damage to the outside of the phone. I asked them how much pressure it would take to damage the LCD and they had no idea. The LCD appears to be about one eighth of an inch under the plastic cover and I know that I hadn't dropped it or banged into anything with it. We had two LG phones before with Verizon and always had 2 to 3 bars signal strength at home and no dropped calls. With the Samsung phones, we have 1 to 2 bars and have had several dropped calls. Compared to the LG phones we had before, this phone is junk: fewer features, a much lower resolution camera, and poor reception. I will call the Verizon home office tomorrow and see if they will give me credit on these phones for better quality phones. If not, then I guess that I have just been had by Verizon and I will switch carriers.

NOT SO GOOD
I had the LG VX 6000 for three years and decided to try something new. I bought the Samsung SCH A850 for one day. Reception was poor while my old LG VX6000 had full bars. I had a hard time making calls and it took a long time to recieve voicemails. So I switched back to Lg and got the VX 5200 and love it!!!
Pros:
light weight.
menu is easy.
good camera quality.
good size.
cons:
not a lot of ring tones.
didn't like the bright red bars on the main LCD.
reception was poor.
was hard to read the time on main LCD it was white on white.
front LCD was hard to read.
