The most dependable, exceptional phone ever!

Jan 7, 2007 by country_dj

I work in all kinds of areas. For years, I carried the Motorola 270C because it was the only phone that offered dependable service. I told someone the industry would have to pry my 270C out of my cold, dead hands, as I would NEVER give it up.

Bad things happen, and even a Motorola 270C can't survive a drop into the ice cold water of a swift flowing creek.

I was going to have to change phones! I need dependable cell phone service, and I work in places, especially in the national parks, where signals are marginal at best!

My service provider is Verizon, the best, without exception. Their coverage and customer service is outstanding. In recent years, I've been through SEVEN major service providers.

I selected the LG VX5300. It was a trimode phone, which was a must. It had a speaker (not much of one), and it vibrated. I bought the BIG battery and off I went to a remote area of the Great Smokey Mountains.

As we were filming in a very remote area, I decided to test the phone. I picked a number and pushed the send button. Nothing...

My camera man handed me his Motorola V325i. Wow... the number rang! The signal showed NO bars, but there was a hint of a digital signal, and the call went through!

I tested the V325i in several other remote areas where even the "dependable" 270C had failed to work, and the V325i worked. When the digital signals are gone, the phone easily switches to analog without having to be forced. The V325i is the best CDMA trimode phone available today.

The Verizon V325i has a good speaker, it vibrates, the battery life is acceptable, it is trimode, and the display is good. It doesn't play music, and I don't use the camera, but I do want a phone that is dependable and makes calls in marginal, remote areas. This is, without exception, the best cell phone I have ever used.

The V325i when matched with the service of Verizon, is a winner. I'll have a V325i until they pry it out of my cold dead hands. It works!

Phone looks great, is durable, and the camera is awesome!! Keypad and screen are by far the best. only complaint is outside screen is small. VERY DURABLE!! Good speaker can not find almost anything wrong except no Vib and ring at the same time. One of the best phones currently available!!

Motorola V325

I have never written a review so here goes.
I came from another carrier and left because
the didn't carry Motorola phones. I had a Samsung that I wasn't happy with to say the least. I picked this phone up Dec 16th 2005
and like so many, it had some problems. The
one I couldn't deal with was, sound would
just go dead Would have to re-start the phone and sometimes it would freeze and I'd have to remove the battery to shut it off. I read on HF from a VZN Employee that if the phone doesn't work just get another one. Went to VZN Feb and replaced the phone. Two days later I went in and replaced that one. I have had this phone a little over a week and it has been just well behaved. No freezing and everything works well. It's a great phone for making and receiving calls and that's what I bought it for. If you get one that works you'll be very happy with it.
If you have problems get another phone. If
enough people return phones you can bet they
will take note about quality control, maybe.
I hope this will help someone, as when I read the VZN employee it helped me.

i just wanted to respond to Kilarney's post. when i first got the phone, the ring lights were working, but later they stopped working. i did a master reset and that made them work again. maybe this would help you, too...i hope so.

take care.

Nice phone, if size & durability don't matter.

First off, let me say that my biggest problem with cell phones on the market right now is that they are losing their intended purpose: that of a cell phone. Cell phones should be small & handle your calls, store contacts, and do txt messaging. Keep that in mind when reading this:

I bought this phone from Verizon and ended up returning it, although I was very sad to have to do so. It is a great phone--very well thought out, intuitive, features placed accordingly. However, I returned it because it was just too big and too delicate for what I want in a phone. The phone is too long, especially when you include the length of antenna stub which sticks out the top. Also, the "soft-feel" plastic on the outside of the phone will easily scratch and rub off. I keep my phone in my pocket, so it gets a lot of wear and this worried me.

PROS:
-very nice and intuitive features (speaker phone, message system, selecting call volume--Moto's got it all down)
-cool blue light on the outside
-looks nice
-good reception (limited testing, but seemed very good)
-clear speaker & microphone
-fast interface (browsing menus)
-syncing/charing via USB (I used phone as a USB modem w/ my laptop too!)

CONS:
-too big for what it should/could be
-soft plastic on outside seems to easy to ruin (especially if you keep your phone in your pocket all day)

I really do not like having to return this phone, but it was just too big and delicate feeling for what I needed. (I came from a Samsung A650, which is small & takes a beating.) However, if size is not much of a concern for you, you'll love this phone! It really is a great phone. Also, I would say this is probably Verizon's best phone as of right now. All their phones are pretty big and awkward, which is why I am returning it to wait 6 months to see if something smaller comes out...

Depends

Ok. I had this phone on Verizon for the first phone (V325i) and it was excellent. Every feature worked great. So when I got a silver version of this phone from a family member I believe it was the v323xi? But it had horrible battery for the second phone, couldn;t send or recieve pictures and almost all of the time I got a message back saying that My message had been delivered. I was so happy to switch back to my Jest phone. At first this runs great/but getting it again is a big no no. But it is a very durable phone. For that I think it deserves SOME credit

UGH!

This phone is not a good phone by any means! I have gone through 2 of them along with 7 chargers and 2 batteries all because of phone malfunctions! I purchased this phone because my step father had it and he had had his for a few years and then I got the gray one! The black verision is a good phone but this gray one is full of glitchs and malfunctions.

Pros:
photo editing?

Cons:
I have to many to list really everythjing but photo editing.

Old Faithful

Aug 18, 2008 by jaxmo

I've had this V325 (Verizon) phone for several years now. I've upgraded twice but had trouble with the new phones or just plain didn't like them so I went back to Old Faithful. I'm rating it a 5 not because it has the best features but because it's always has a strong signal and the sound is loud and sharp. I don't need a phone that plays music or takes great pictures. I need one that's sturdy and dependable. If it keeps working I may have it another couple years. It's like an old friend.
Pros: Rubberized housing
Blue alert lights
Great sound quality
Loud ringer
Speakerphone
Rugged
Dependable
Cons: Low res camera (fine with me)
Keys are a bit small for my big fingers.
