Good perfomance

Dec 20, 2005 by elamperti

This phone has been working excellent with me. I love it.

Known bug:
The OS crashed while runing chronometer and I had to reset it "the hard way" (removing battery) because it didn't made response to any button through several minutes).

PROs:
- Very good polyphonic ringtones feeling (the sound quality in midis is better than in lots of other phones).
- So customizable interface
- Lots of functions that I discovered while using it.. (it has a "paint" program!)
- Big storage for photos (150 photos in 640x480 with the best resolution)
- You can record more than 10 secs in video mode, but you have to enable it (warning: if you set it to "unlimited" you won't be able to send via MMS the videos larger than 9~10 secs.)
- Good antena power. I had signal in places where others didn't.

CONs:
- You can't select your own ringtone for incomming messages (you must choose between 6 predefined sounds, a "click" or nothing)
- Connection trough IR is good but slow, and if you plan to transfer by IR your photos to the computer, I sugest you to download the SE File Manager so you can transfer all with some "ease".
- It doesn't have any exapnsion slot and you'll want it if you want to listen MP3s or to have lots of images/videos.

Amazing- New Sony Ericsson Fan For Life!

Aug 16, 2005 by nave462000

I bought this phone from vodafone spain for about a hundred dollars (prepaid/without contract) and it was the K300i version.

This phone is amazing! Unfortunately, mine doesn't have the 850 band, so my cingular sim causes it only to operate on the other bands.

I love the interface, and that is the standard sony ericsson interface. It is my new favorite! THe phonebook is perfect, and stores all kinds of information. Menu's make perfect sense, and, i must admit that the no end/send key factor turned me off at the beginning, but now i realize how amazing it is. This means that there's a dedicated power key, somthing that has been missing from new phones for whatever reason.

For a phone that price, its features rival my vz lg vx8000. Obviously the screens are not nearly comparable, but considering the size difference, I would take the k300i any day! It has a speakerphone, videocapture, high-speed data (vodafone live), the equivalent to get it now, infared (even my lg,$200 with a contract and post-paid,doesn't have this)

I used this phone for text messaging too while in europe, and this phone has REAL T9, not that crap that LG has. A real dictionary, and everything just works perfect. Also, it works with many languages without changing it.

When I came back to my lg, i realized that the clear key never really operates as a clear key. It just moves me back to the previous menu, which doesn't make sense. The clear key on this phone actually deletes everything when you press it. The back key makes everything easier!

I have no way to judge the reception of this phone because I have no other phones that are on vodafone espana or (currently roaming on) cingular 1800/1900. Compared to my vz phone, Cingular has much better coverage everywhere so next may, I will be moving to cingular.

The navigation key takes a little getting used to, getting to the actual menu from the home screen might be a bit challenging, but you get used to it.

I love it!
