great phone!!!

Nov 23, 2004 by sweetlady314

i absolutely love this phone!!! as mentioned before, the ringers are loud and very clear; great camera quality; i haven't tested the video part of it so i don't know about that; the faceplates are easy to change. The only con to me is that it doesn't have the rainbow led's like the 5500, but i would definitely recommend this phone to others!!

Sanyo - Unique and Exclusive!

Sanyo has definitely done it again! I am impressed with every feature on this phone. the most exciting thing is changing the face plates. I started out with the 4700 series. That phone did not make a fashion statement but at the time was the only one with a speaker on it. I up graded to the 5100 series which was the first color screen phone to come out. My next step was the 8100 with the camera, but this phone is the bomb!!!!!!!!!!! It has a excellent camera and camcorder, not to mention multimedia. I think that this is the best choice to cover all the bases of a great cell phone.

Another Great Sanyo

Ditto on everything above...

The meeting mode is great. Also, when a call comes in, you can ingnore it and it will send it to voicemail automatically! How cool is that? The Speech Recognition is cool. You don't have to train it.

The only thing I miss from the 8200 is when you push the Web button twice, you got directly to the browser functions. This device doesn't support that.

Awesome

I got the phone earlier today in the mail. I love it. It blows both the A700 and the 5500 out of the water. It's a bit pricey at $379 + $20 for a third faceplate (it came with two!) All in all though, I love it. My only complaint is that it's a bit bulky (about the same size as the 7300) but then again I should expect that in the same product line.

Nice Phone

The phone has great ringers. Sounds like an MP3 player in your pocket. I have yet to drop a call and the speakerphone is the clearest yet. The Media player is definatly cool. And it is about time someone came out with talking caller id. And another about time, you dont have to program in voice dials anymore. Now it is convienient to wear a headset. Sanyo does it again!!!!!

Best Phone I've Ever Owned!

OK, this phone has to be as close to perfection as any other on the market. Without getting too in-depth about all the features; the important question is how good is it for calls?

Sound Quality: Beyond compare. Sprint has the best call clarity since they run in the 1.9Ghz range, unlike other carriers who run in the 800Mhz range. But the phone itself is also a determining factor on how clear the call comes through. The MM-7400 has impressed me when I call someone on a landline phone... you never get cut off! Most cells you get cut off when the person you are speaking to talks back at you and you have to stop mid-sentence... not with this phone! (Make sure you're calling a landline though since other cells may break-up on their end)

Signal: Excellent... really. My home is in a rural area which is very hard to get a good signal. Matter of fact, I live in between 2 towers, and only the toughest (like the MM-7400) can pick up the other tower many miles away. What I love is that I can be at work and on Channel 650 (as an example), and then when I get home (where the signal is particularly troublesome, but the phone still shows 2-3 bars), the phone will automatically switch to the more reliable tower, Channel 675. And on that channel, the phone operates great even with NO bars! In short, this phone will pick up signal in areas that other phones can't.

PCS Vision: Very fast thanks to the new WAP 2.0 browser. You can actually surf with ease, and not have to wait long at all to go from page to page.

The multimedia feature is a cool idea, but it maxes out at 15fps (unlike TV at 30fps). It's a bit choppy, so I won't be using this, but it might be better with the faster network of EDO coming up.

The speakerphone works great, even with the flip closed! Different faceplates make a fashion statement; voice recognition is top notch. I'm so thrilled with the phone I bought the extended battery!

In short, I highly recommend this phone to anyone, it is one of the best on Sprint!

Taking the plunge

Alright, so I did it. I went to the store and bought a new phone. This is something I swore to myself I would never do. I'm a ebay cell phone buyer. But I saw this phone and I couldnt resist it. This phone is the last phone I think I will ever buy. I knew i had to have it because It has all the bells and whistles in a phone Ive wanted. Speakerphone, camera, and video camera.

Pros:Very cool, very different look than any other phone. As a long time Sanyo user I've always been alittle bummed they didnt have a alarm...they heard my crys and gave it a multi level alarm on it. Speakerphone is awesome. Reception is rock freakin solid. Great screen and upgrade from any other Sanyo phone you have. Changing faceplates are great and they dont feel flimsy or anything like that. Nice rubbery wrap around the edge of the phone where old phones always get scratched. This bad boy can be charged by your old sanyo charger, or any sprint pcs samsung phone charger. Buttons are nicely spaced on the keypad with a sexy blue backlight for the buttons. Just feels like a very sturdy unit. (mmhmm i said unit..sorry bout that)

Cons: ummmmm....I really havent found one. I guess the only complaint I have is that I wish it was alittle bit thinner. But you cant have it all...yet.

So there is it. Go out and get one, unless you want to get the next one that you will drain your battery listening to mp3's. This phone is the best of the best. Lets see what you have next Samsung...

Simply amazing

I used to work for sprint for over a year, and while there i had the pleasure of demoing multiple phones. By far this phone has exceeded all expectations set by me. the voice recognition is the only downfall, being that it doesn't always go to the contact i need, but other than that this phone has my blessing. Sprint hit open out of the park on this one. Whats next holograms?!?!?!?!
