WHASSUP WITH RELIABILITY, DUDE?!!

Sep 25, 2005 by MS-13

I've had it for a week (bought it of the eBay new in the box for $200). YESTERDAY I accidentaly dropped it on my wooden (!) floor and it DIED!!! Not only cosmetic damage (crack) on the display but simply won't turn on!!! Took it to my homeboy who works for Cingular and can repair phones. He tried everything but it did not bring it back to life.
So I pretty much just threw 2 hundred [...] bucks away.
THANK YOU, MOTO!
P.S. It was NOT good phone anyways - bad reception compared to my Nokia 6101, bulky size compared to Motorola V180 of my sister, no Edge technology, pretty cheap camera and RIDICULOUSLY small memory!!!!

Ed. note: removed profanity

First and foremost, this phone has got the
looks. Best cosmetic job Motorola has done
with a phone thus far. It's compact and very
durable. For me it's the perfect pocket
phone. The call quality is good and have had
no problems there. Coverage is sometimes an
issue but that is because of Cingular, not
Motorola. I love almost everything about this
phone, except... the navigational key pad is
just a bit too small, I'm hitting the other
buttons with my thumb when trying to navigate, and the other thing is the screen.
At night-time, in the dark, or in a dim lit room, you can see the screen great, and it's
beautiful... but if you get it near any type of light, especially the sun light then it's very hard to see. Also, even in the dark if
you look at it from the sides the screen becomes blurry and distorted, you have to look at it dead-on to see how nice the screen actually is. All in all, it's a pretty darn good phone. VERY EXPENSIVE, play
with a functional demo model at a Cingular store before you buy to make sure you like it enough to throw down that type of cash.
Or you can get a free one like I did...

MOTOV3--NOT BAD AT ALL

Oct 28, 2005 by CINGULAR PHONECHICK

ive used a cell phone of every manufacturer cingular has sold in the last 5 years..not saying i've used every model, just ast least one model of every manufacturer. the v3 is not difficult to navigate thru it's menu, the signal is great, sound is great, color is great, size is great, battery life is great...unless using bluetooth, then it's good, mp3's sound awesome, and the strangest thing is...of all the different manufacturer's i've used, motorola has never been one of my favorite...until the V3. I LOVE MY PHONE! i will not go back to any other manufacturer....at least for now. i am very satisfied with this phone. i average 4k minutes/month and this phone hangs in with me. NO COMPLAINTS!!!

So far it's awesome!

I've had a black RAZR for almost a week now, and I love it!

Pros:

Reception is the best I've ever had.
Voice quality is as good as any land line.
I love the big display.
Looks cool.
Nice wallpapers/backgrounds.

Cons:

I actually don't like the thinness much, it's hard to get my big fingers around it.

Can't store one-digit speed dial #s on the

SIM card, have to copy it to the phone memory to do this.

Overall:

I don't use many of the power features, such as bluetooth. I've always looked for near-perfect reception and voice quality, and I think I've found it. Let's see if the phone lasts and continues to perform well. Motorola may have redeemed itself from the dismal v180s and v220s.

Crap

Absolute Crap, Very unreliable

Top of the Line Phone

Jan 12, 2005 by CingularTechGurl1

I have had my Razr for the past two months and I have nothing but absolute happiness with it. This is my 1st GSM phone and I figured, I mind as well go with the best. I saw it on the Motorola website back in August and fell in love. This is also my 1st Motorola, I have strictly been a Nokia gal.

Pros:

1. Excellent reception, everywhere. Inside and outside. I have dropped 1 call once since I got the phone on Nov 15th

2. Futuristic design, I get that response all the time from friends

3. Head turner. A couple of my friends point my phone out to new people to show it off

4. Excellent camera. The screen is huge, clear and I love the color quality. I have e-mailed many pics and the clarity is great.

5. Very light weight, I have it in my pocket and forget it am even carrying it.

6. Great color keypad. It is a nice blue glow, a nice change from Nokia products.

Cons:

1. The battery sucks. I pretty much have to charge it every day and a 1/2 if I have heavy use. I now just turn it off for 1/2 the day at work to conserve battery. It makes sense, I guess since the battery is so thin and small. It was quite a rude awakening from years of being used to Nokia's long battery life.

2. Ok, the cost. But I didnt really care, I wanted it and I wanted now. I saved up and bought it. No big deal.

3. On incoming calls, if you have a pic assigned, it shows up very small. I read somewhere here you can get a program to make the pics bigger. But, I am not that advanced to actually do something like that.

4. It is very delicate. I handle it like an egg 100% of the time. I have a only 2 small drops onto carpet. Not too bad. But man, if I dropped that onto concrete like I have with my past Nokia's... forget it. I have nightmares of it shattering into 1000 pieces.

5. No insurance available. The only way I have found to deal with that is to never let that thing leave my side. I NEVER leave it out laying around at work or wherever I am.

Not The Greatest~ But It Works.

I've NEVER Dropped A Call with this phone, and i find that my service is 2 - 3 Bars higher than my other phones when i stand in the same place and put my SIM in them.

ALTHOUGH! I've Found That The Cingular RAZR Is HORRIBLE!!! I've Got Cellular One And I Haven't Had A Problem Yet!

Pros:
-GREAT Reception
-Nice BIG Clear Screen
-Decent Camera
-VERY Thin

Cons:
-NO Advanced Voice Dialing
-Lots Of Finger Prints
-TOO Wide
-Menu's Are HORRIBLE
-Screen Blinks While On GPRS
-Phonebook Looks As If A 5 Year Old Desinged It. Very Simple & Boring.
-If Bluetooth Is On, There Is Sometimes A High Pitched Noise
-NOT A NORMAL MOTOROLA CHARGER CONNECTION
-Video Camera Is HORRIBLE QUALITY

THIS PHONE IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!

THE ONLY REASON I HAVE IT IS FOR A STATUS SYMBOL!!! DON'T BUY UNLESS YOU HAVE $250 TO TOTALLY WASTE!!!!

whoever thinks the razor sucks is trippin'

I just recently bought the razor because my v551 sucked. This is by far the best phone I've ever had. The memory capacity is awesome. I've stored more 60 ringtones in my phone on top of about 20 pictures, 3 videos, and a s***load of games. The speakerphone quality is phenomenal and the screen is awesome. Its a big step up from the v551. My reception is better since getting this phone. God Bless Motorola. I won't go with anyone else

Great reception; great sound; great phone

Nov 22, 2004 by bigowl

I am not a phonenik. I am a simpleton; my only desire for a phone is that it be a great phone as a phone. In this regard, the Razr is everything I want or need in a phone.

PROs

(1)The reception is excellent. In a highrise where I use to search for a window for some type of reception in the past (and it had to be the right window), I had great reception in an interior room with the Razr. In other areas while driving where my reception formerly faded in and out or just went bye-bye, the reception remained strong and sound was clear. I also have had no instances in which the party I called could hear me but I could not hear them. Although it has just been three days, I have had no dropped calls, my messages appear within seconds (not the next day in certain rare instances in the past) and those receiving my calls claim their reception is also loud and clear.

(2)The sound volume without Blue Tooth earpiece is also excellent (on level 7). Sound has been so clear that I don think it could be any better---and if there were a level 8, it might possibly be too loud even in an automobile with windows down while I smoked my cigar.

The only two minor cons would be:

(1)I think I have my bluetooth earpiece as high as it will go; the sound is o.k. but I wish the sound could be a little louder.

(2)I wish there were some additional choices on various types of "rings".

Although the phone is not inexpensive, I am willing to pay almost any price for excellent reception and sound---and this phone delivers in both regards. I have had LGs, Nokia and the original Startac(it's been so long I can't remember if this is the correct spelling), but this is the best of all when it relates to sound and reception.

For my simple (but extremely important) purposes, Motorola has an expensive winner.
