Questionable quality

Feb 14, 2008 by Steph30Ayden

Very cool phone with lots of features that I enjoy but shotty quality. Battery issues from the start, went through 4 phones all had malfunctions with certain things. 2 of them the keypads went out of, the other 2 were battery related. Moved on to the Razr V9m and questioning that decision now.....

This phone is way cool!

I just got this phone a few days ago...used by my brother but it is still in great shape. I wasn't all that excited about the razr at first because most of the motorola phones I have seen have been lemons. So I just figured this was one more to add to the list. I was wrong on that one for sure.

Pros:
-Slim design makes it easy to carry.
-Nice color outer screen that always tells you the time.
-Nice volume control and is easy to use while you are on the phone.
-You can use the speakerphone with the phone shut!!! I was excited about this one.
-Nice quality speakerphone.
-Nice big screen with beautiful color.
-Keypad has a sensor in it. If the light is good enough it doesn't light up. When you are in a darker place it always lights up. Very neat.
-Easy to fine accessories.
-Nice graphics.
-Easy to make your own ringtones using phone tools.
-Great reception!!
-The best phone I have ever had!!!!

This may sound crazy but I can't think of anything bad about this phone.

Good Phone!

I recently bought a Cosmic Blue Razr V3 unlocked to use with T-Mobile. So far I like this phone. I'm more into the design even if it lacks a lot of modern features that phones have today.

Pros:
Large Screen
Nice Design
Great Color (Cosmic Blue)
External Screen / Viewfinder
Feels Sturdy
Bluetooth

Cons:
VGA Camera
Holding the Phone feels a bit awkward

Even without a Mega pixel camera or MP3 player it's still a pretty kool phone in my opinion. This is my back up phone for my Nokia 5300. The Razr battery life is much better than my Nokia. Overall, it's a great phone for a 1st time cell phone owner or anyone that wants a phone with bluetooth and a camera.

I hate the razor

Pros the phone is small and a large screen

Cons the battery life is not that great and my favorite issue with it is the screen works maybe a quarter of the time it goes white and I cant see anything it is a constant problem.

Decent

Another phone for its time that was great! A very popular/stylish phone. This is a great phone, it's only drawbacks tend to be durability and the battery tends to lose its ability to hold long charges after about a year. Otherwise a great great phone! Again if you have good technical kung-fu skills, you can really customize this phone!

Motorola IS BORING!

Sep 8, 2007 by vikz99

Well this phone is REALLLY BORING!!!! The interface is always the same as the other phones I have used (V600,V635), i mean come one.. if the phone looks nice and slick why add a ugly firmware... BORRRRRING!!! Another thing is that this phone make this buzzing noise. I'm pretty sure it's not only me, as I know couple of people that have the same phone with the same issue. So I called Motorola and asked them about this particular problem. Who said "sorry, that is a known feature with that model". But lucky me I have an extended warranty.. so I sent it in, thinking everything would be solved with the buzzing. BUT.. there it was back again..with the buzzing..Overall this phone may look good from the outside.. but sucks from the inside. Not worth the money! and MOTOROLA GET A BETTER FIRMWARE ALREADY!

Horrible experience with this thing...

My two year contract with ATT was up a few days ago. I have had this model during the entire time. Well, this phone and five other V3...so that was a total of six phones to fix problems.

First huge complaint...the whistling, buzzing, whirring noise that you hear through the handset. And your caller hears it too. Cover the antenna with your hand it stops. Real convenient holding the base of the phone with a death grip to squelch the buzzing, whistling, whirring noise. Seems to be a feed back issue between the antenna and the mic pickup. Six phones I have had have this issue. I highly doubt it is isolated and common to the GSM razr. Glad to see Moto does something to fix this.

Second WTF on this phone is the metal keypad. Not sure how to describe this but I believe there is a plastic film that covers the keypad. Well, my third though 6th phone the coating has come off. And it reveals the bare metal. So, it starts to corode. Gives it a nice green tint on the metal that corroded.

Maybe I use the phone to much...life timer is around 250 hours and I have used this phone for maybe 6 or seven months consistently.

The phone drops calls all the time (More calls dropped after cingular announced they had the least dropped calls). Some times it never rings, the call quality has been horrible.

I travel a lot and the service coverage has been good though. And Cingular has been more than willing to help me with confusing charges and what not. That I am happy about. They even gave me the unlock code so I could get it unlocked for my travels abroad. And the rollover minutes are nice. And here is a tip that could help. When you check your voicemail it takes daytime minutes to do so. Go to voicemail setup...and change the phonenumber dialed. Change it to your actual phonenumber. It should now be mobile to mobile to check your voicemail. Not DT minutes.

Anyways, my rant is over with this phone. I don't even think they sell the V3 anymore in its basic form.

Horrible Phone!!

I have had 3 phones and six chargers in the past year. Luckily i can get a new phone because i was so dissatisfied with my razor. My phone would not charge so i was sent new phones and new chargers, they would work for a short time then i would have my same problem. It was very stressful and frustrating i would never het another motorola phone agian.

Pros-
-cute design
-good service
-nice display

Cons-
-bad pictures from camera
-chargers dont work
-eventually stpoed charging altogether
-gets fingerprinted

Pros

slim and cool looking

very customizable
keypad is cool

Cons
Battery life is not long enough
VGA camera sucks
it is fragile

MOTO V3

Aug 10, 2007 by haseebmalik

looks good but still too big..
reception is not bad..
battery life is good for the first few months
same software as all motos
after sometime when u open the flip the screen would b blank..
not a strong phone
camera quality is not bad..
good thing u can charge it very fast..
the quality of the speaker is average..
for the same price u can get a very good phone like nokia 668- by adding some more money or u can get the z710 or w300i much better then this phone

i would only give it 1.5..
