V3..love it or hate it......its a very good phone

I finally got hooked into the Razr. I wasn't sure what I would think of it. I mean it looked nice but I have read way too many negative reviews. But I took the plunge and I am very very pleased.

Pros:
Slim profile makes it fit nicely into pants pocket.

Reception is top notch

Volume on both ringer and calls is loud and clear

The display is bright..indoors

Battery life is very good

Mini usb port for charging and data..nice touch moto

Accessories are a breeze to find

Video capture is above average for an old vga design

Cons:
Same old boring user interface..awesome phone with old os

Still camera is less than impressive

The display is worthless in daylight

Bluetooth is quirky

While not a perfect god like phone like some would say this definitely is not an awful phone like others have stated. This phone has been out for two years and I say it has definitely earned its keep. Way to go moto.....just refresh your software design.

Good Design, Bad Phone

Aug 20, 2006 by petemonge

I was very happy when I bought the Razr, had a sexy design and a nice rebate coming to me. That feeling lasted 3 weeks, when during calls I started to get a hissing noise... kind of like a teapot going off. This gradually developed to every call, so I sent in for a new phone from Cingular, they sent me a refurb. Oh yeah, the side volume buttons and the down button did not work, so yet again, I sent this one back. Not 2 weeks into my 3rd Razr, I woke up and the phone was off. For some reason, it refused to turn on or do anything. Cingular tried messing around with batteries and everything... told me that this one was broken. So here I am on my 4th Razr and I'm pretty pissed. I had a Moto v400 for 2 and 1/2 years with no problems, I thought the Razr would be a great upgrade, but man, what a piece it is.

The BEST Phone I've owned!

First of all, let me start out by saying that no phone is going to be perfect! I was a little shady about buying this phone at first bc of other people complaining, but some things you just have to find out for yourself! And I'm glad I did!! This phone is great and is very user friendly.

Pros:

-It's PINK!
-Nice camera with zoom
-Speaker-phone is loud and clear
-Very loud when it rings
-I love the internal and external displays!
-Multiple alarms
-Has short-cut key to get to messages
-Keypad is great for texting!
-You can customize the home page to fit your wants and needs
-It is Bluetooth capable
-You can record a few seconds of video
-You can set multiple ringtones for like your ringtone, your text messages, alarms, vm
-Picture ID is cool
-You can purchase a data cable for it, and it's super easy to use
-I can honestly say that you can find the coolest accessories for this phone!

Cons:
-I have had the camera mess up on me a time or two but that's it!

I recommend this phone bc it has great features and it is the best looking phone on the market! I love this phone!

Awesome Phone

Aug 16, 2006 by neubom10

Great phone I got in June and so far it's pretty durable, good picture quality. The side buttons get pushed a lot while it's in my pocket. The camera gets turned on in my pocket some how from the side buttons and it takes pictures of my pocket. I don't like that I can't store multiple numbers under a name in my adderess book. I love that it's small and fits almost anywhere.

Pros-
Small and fits almost anywhere.
Great picture quality.
Pretty durable.

Cons-
so small I lose it a lot
Side buttons get pushed easily like in my pocket
doesn't store multiple numbers(or at least I can't find a way to store extra)

Razr V3

Aug 16, 2006 by CallMi

I just traded in my old Motorola V60 for a shiny new black Razr. For a while there I was convinced that this phone was just a fashion statement but after using it I'm really impressed with the call quality. It is noticably better than my old phone. Here are the Pros and Cons that I've found:

Pros:

1) Excellent call quality. It's a phone, after all, so what could be more important than that?
2) No external antenae. I usually keep my phone in my pocket and I can't tell you how many times I jabbed myself when I sat down.
3) Slim design. Fashion aside, there are some real benefits to having a phone this slim. It fits nicely into your front pocket without looking bulky.
4) Metal case. I haven't dropped it yet so I can't attest to how durable it is but it sure feels more solid than a plastic cased phone. Despite being small it has a bit of heft to it and feels solidly constructed.

Cons:

1) Hard to keep clean. It seems to show fingerprints and perspiration very easily although it cleans up nicely.
2) Buttons. I guess I'm still getting used to the flat buttons. In bright light it seems a bit difficult to read.
3) Volume control. As others have mentioned, its on the upper section of the phone so if you're trying to adjust the volume during a call it feels awkward poking around for the volume switch.

All in all, it's an excellent phone. Call quality and battery life are great. You can slip it into your jeans without having that "O'Henry in the front pocket" look. If you're familiar with the Motorola interface you'll have the Razr mastered inside of 5 minutes.

i give this phone a 5 because i haven't had it long enough to notice any flaws,,,so far i love this phone and not being a big motorola fan this is one of the best iv owned! GOOD JOB MOTOROLA! the camera is probably one of the best you could get on a phone...some people just expect to much!

i wouldnt pass up the chace to get this phone! its great! its sleek form makes it easy to fit into your pocket and the perfect fit in your hand to ear when your on it...the speaker phone is loud and clear...the battery for cingular is amazingly long but verizons isnt! the volume is very good and i havent had a dropped call yet!

i get at least 2 bars in my house where i had no service with any of my other phones!

I stongly recommend this phone !!

absolutely positively love this phone

I know everyones like "everyone has the razr" and "it's not THAT great" I will definitely have this phone forever, I love it. Even though I just got it today I am in love with it I went from the samsung e315 to the razr (haha...big jump seeing as the e315 was garbage) and after sooooo many problems with the e315 I decided the razr =) and I'm glad I did. I checked out all the features and they are fantastic and it doesn't hurt that the phones shape is AMAZING. Even my friend (who's not that phone savvy) said this phone was sick. I've used it only twice but so far is great.

PROS:
-awesome sound quality (T-mobile, New England)
-extremely loud earpiece (perfect for me since I'm practiclly deaf)
-when I first saw the cameras and video cameras quality I was speechless
-buttons are so easy to press
-I love how there is a section devoted to personalization of the phone
-battery life is incredible so far
-excellent service (with the e315 I never got service in my house)
-love the buttons on the side (easy to use)

CONS:
-the only minor complaint I have for the phone is in the 4 hours I've had it its got a bunch of fingerprints just to warn anyone but its's nothing a little WD-40 can't help

BOTTOM LINE:
definitely get this phone because it's cheap (I waited until the prices went down a little and its very cheap at T-mobile (I don't know about cingular or verizon) and its beautiful and it has great features :)

RAZR PAPERWEIGHT

Aug 10, 2006 by DADDYDOG

If you are considering a razr DONT!! the only pros are its sturdy construction, size, and looks. cons are to many to mitchen all but include : slow photo speed, outdated software, and poor reception. just to name a few. this is my fifth v3 and it still don't work right. the only reason I've had so many is warranty. but i refuse to have another one. Instead I'm getting a nokia 6682. the v3 is better of a paperweight. Ive had around 30 phones and never ranked one below a 3 on a scale of 1-5. But this one gets a 1 only because of its construction.
