The best phone I have ever owned

Nov 2, 2003 by Ktollstam

I purchased this phone when it first came out, about 2.5 years now (unlocked). I use it with T-Mobile and sometime Vodafone. I have carried it all over the world (N & S Amer, Eur, Asia, China, Australia and Mid East). It is a work horse. G R E A T battery life, loud earpiece, great reception, auto-tune between bands. Bluetooth link to my iPAQ (very handy for SMS control and phonebook mgmt). GPRS is solid (with latest firmware). Small and light. It is not color (sharp grey scale) or polyphonic (loud ringers and vibrate), but if you just want to make and receive calls - I have not found a better phone (I wish they made a CDMA model or there was better GSM coverage in the US - let's face it, GSM is still very weak in the US). This phone performs the best in the most important areas: RF reception, battery life and earpiece volume. As a bonus it has IR, BT, GPRS, large phbk (500 entries), email client, browser, voice activated dialing/control, is very small and light, flip panel covers buttons, and it automatically changes freq. bands. Why T-Mobile didn't offer this phone is a mystery. I am in the market to buy a second one as a backup.

Not much to say

I've had my T39m for almost 4 yrs now, even though I use other newer phones the T39 has always been kept in a box for back-up. The latest phone that I had was a Moto v180 that just up and died, so even after sitting in a box for about 6 months I took out the T39, charged the original battery and it still works great.

great
