Pretty decent

May 25, 2005 by farain1

This phone came out last year so bear in mind it is not as advanced as some phones out there but people who like Nokia style non flip phones will love this phone. The SE menus and navigation takes a little getting used to but once your figure it out you can do so much. I just like SE so much more than Motorola. Picks up great service and you can do things like copy all ur contacts to the Sim or copy all the Sim contacts to the phone without making duplicate entries like the v551 Motorola. I like the games included in like mini golf and rally racing. Sound quality is very good but some people said the mic picks up a lot of surrounding sounds as well. So they can hear others around me on top of my voice.

The camera quality is low but you can do cool things like timer and black and white pics and zoom. No speakerphone also sucks. They should do what Nokia does even on smaller phone and put in speakerphone. Battery life is definitely not 9 hours of talk time. I don't know where SE gets their estimates from. Highly exaggerated.

Hey no phone is perfect but this is a very attractive and sleek phone with a lot of features.

Not a Bad Choice...

This phone definitely isn't a horrible choice. Nokia users will find it decent to use in comparisson to the Nokia Models. The screen is pretty bright and big enough for most applications. The games are fun and the themes make the phone customizable to match your personality. The camera isn't great especially in low light situations, but it's a cell phone, not a digital camera. The IR port and Bluetooth work very well so anyone with a PDA or network will find them very useful. The screen is easily scratched which I did not like about the phone, but other than that it wasn't so bad. The buttons are rather small and close together as well. Overall it is a pretty good phone with a fair price for what you get.

PROS:
Small size fits nicely in a pocket or purse.
Ease of use.
Great reception.
Fun and practical for business or pleasure.
Bluetooth and IR are very nice features.

CONS:
Screen easily scratched/scuffed.
Buttons are small and close together.
Camera isn't great quality.

Juuuust right.

I bought this phone feeling very fortunate to have found a small, unique-looking phone. I tried the camera, made a few calls, and now finally I have a bluetooth headset. I have had absolutely no problems with the phone and I would recommend it to my dearest grandmother.

I don't text or use the wireless internet, and I can see how it might be difficult with the small touch pad if I were into those things but I am not. I just call and this phone just works.

I get lots of comments and I am proud of it. Buy a real nice case, you will want to keep this phone in good condition for a long time!

(by the way, reception is fantastic in ST. Louis, on Cingular's network. I have also travelled to more rural areas of MO with no problem)

The camera isn't as good as I thought

Well I just got the phone on Friday, and I've been waiting for it since a month, I've heard a lot of comments of users and friends, and they told me that the phone was better than t610(it is), When I started using it, I realized that it was the same as t610 but the camera was a little faster, but it doesn't take good pics as I thought. The Bluetooth works perfect and the IR does too. But in "night mode" I can't see anything i think it doesn't work.

Awesome phone!

Pros:
Everything the t616 was, but with a better screen!

Cons:
No speakerphone

I have come from many expensive phones, but I find that this phone is the best packaged deal. I feel like I payed for what I got in this case compared to other phones where you feel after 3 months that you over spent.

I use the NEW Cingular Wireless and they are great all over CA, because my family is in San Diego and I am located in Sacramento. I travel back and forth all the time taking breaks in between different cities and it never lets me down. Great reception and great sound quality!

I believe this is a must have phone! Keep in mind that Sony Ericsson is rolling out with a walkman phone.

One of the best

This phone is pretty sick... i just love the fact its a bar phone that feels good in your hand and works as it should. The phone is designed well and has advanced features that are masked from users not wishing to use them but available for those that do.

Pro:
Decent RF (not the best)
Battery owns motorola phones
Looks sweet
Bluetooth

Cons:
Camera blows

Best. Phone. Ever.

I've had this phone since November, and I love it. I'm a petite person with small hands, so the buttons are just my size; however, my husband has no problem hitting buttons either. The menus are clear-cut and easy to navigate. The display is nice. Camera isn't all that great, but what do you expect from a cell phone? The battery life is decent; I have to charge it every day, but I talk for about five hours each day.

The ascending ring really drove me crazy at first, but it is rather convenient when someone calls me in a store- I can pick it up before the ringtone starts to annoy everyone. Ringtone volume is excellent- I can hear it across the house.

But I didn't completely ADORE this phone until today.

A friend called while I was cooking, so I answered and proceeded to take food out of the oven. I didn't have the phone securely lodged between my head and shoulder and- yes- the phone went flying into the oven.

It must've been in there for 20 or 30 seconds.. I was kind of in shock at first. Pulled it out, and my only problem is now there's a small scratch on the display.

425 degree heat directly on the phone, and no signs of melting. None.

So if you like small, cute phones, and you inadvertently torture them from time to time - this is the phone for you.

Pretty Good

I've had this phone for about a week now and I enjoy it quite a bit...

Pros:
- IR and Bluetooth work immediately.
- Screen display bright and colorful
- Controls are very intuitive
- Voice calling quite reliable.
- All in all, fun to use.

Cons:
- Camera sucks ass. Pic not clear
- No speaker phone.
- Does not play Mp3. Come on... this should be a standard new releases.
- 2MB storage... you've got to be kidding me.

Great, great phone!

I just rec'd this as upgrade of my t616 ... free w/ 2 year extension. Earlier I rejected the Moto v551 after a 2-wk trial because I hated the software. This phone matches the t616 user interface, but it's faster.

Pros:
Size & Heft are great
Screen is terrific
Keypad - better than I expected
Lighting of keys - better than I expected
Data mgmt from old phone to new - just copy the entire contact list to SIM, move the SIM, copy back to contacts, back in biz!
Bluetooth - works great, like before

Cons:
Hate SE's power connector
Hate SE's speaker connector
Seems to burn battery quicker than 616

Overall, great basic phone with great Bluetooth implementation. Highly recommended as a keeper - better yet, it's free! Migbt still try a Smartphone 5600 when available, but this will remain as my backup forever!

Blue Tooth is Nice !

Nov 20, 2004 by hdtravel

I got this phone for $29.99 from AT&T Wireless with a new 1 year contract. The color screen is sharp, bright, and clear. The phone is a nice size, but too square and angular in shape. My biggest complaint about the phone is the somewhat poor reception. There is always a static heard in the background of every call. The phone does not drop calls, but the static is annoying. It sounds like you are talking on an old analog phone. When I put my SIM in my basic Siemens C-56 reception in the same places is crystal clear and solid with no static.

Pros:
Color Screen
BlueTooth (works great with my MAC)
Cheap Price

Cons:
Poor reception
Lack of accessories
Camera is worthless (VGA low resolution and no flash) No worth a penny.
Slow software (IM, theme changes)

Overall I would NOT recommend this phone. There are better choices out there for sure.
