JUST GOT V710 to disappoint PART 1

Aug 13, 2004 by jamesreyes78

Okay let me start I never write Forms but i'm so pissed right now about this phone.
First of all I have been waiting for this thing since I found out about it 3 weeks ago. I actually lost my LG6000 and was just about tired of that PHONE ALREADY.

So I suspended my account and was about to upgrade to the LG V7000 and I should have, only to hear that Motorola was coming out with a bluetooth phone with MP3 capability.

Now I am a cell phone freak, and I even bought a sidekick from TMobile just for the DATA plan that is a great internet surf device THERE kind of slow and no videos or MP3's. However I thought now I can have it ALL.

Guess what I ran to the store today after calling many in my area saying all V710 MOT sold out. I was p'd off since I have not had my phone in service for 3 weeks due to losing my LGVX6000, so I ran to the store that said it had two left and I was actually the last one to get the last V710. Yes I THOUGHT GOOD LUCK.

I get in my car look at the phone think i'm the luckiest man out there.

Start taking videos and say wow for that money what a disappointment but oh well video is always bad so I said who cares. Okay now the camara is supposed to be superior to all the camara phones out there. Guess what outside it takes real good pictures, Inside OUCH my LG6000 had almost the same quality, Flash is not a flash it is a LIGHT that does not HELPPP.

Let me just tell you about the bluetooth, okay I said let me go get some MP3 songs with my bluetooh, GUESS what you can't send receive protocol data on it, what the this p'd me off, my brother my cousin his friend have AT&T phones and T mobile phones with bluetooth and they can file transfer wave files into their phones as a ringer with words and all.

NO REAL BLUE TOOTH

Not Bad Moto!

While the phone is not perfect, it is not bad!YES, it does have its problems. The keypad does move and from I understand it is just part of the design. I went back to the VZW store and they opened two other units and those keypads shifted too! The ear-piece volume is not as loud as my LG4400, but it will do. The speakerphone is GREAT!!! I would have probably gotten the LG7000, but I need a tri-mode as I work in a rural area. The camera is not too bad. The vibrate mode is weak and could definately used a boost as well as the battery life. Overall, its got all the features and hasn't let me down yet.

Really Cool Phone!

This is the best phone I've bought. I've purchased a couple of Motorola phones before including the 270c Timeport and the T720 (both from Verizon Wireless) and they were both great phones. I decided to buy the LG VX7000 when it first came out but then I saw that the Motorola V710 come out. There's some good news...

Pro's
- Nice loud speakerphone
- Good camera (better than the VX7000's cam)
- Good Video Camera
- Bluetooth headset (HS810) is great
- Impressive reception
- MP3 ringtones (When I hear "Another one bites the dust," I know it's my phone ringing)
- MP3 Player is really good
- Perfect size and weight for my hands

Con's
- Can't change wallpaper in external screen to my own picture
- That's about it - Had it for about a week and a half and found no bugs in it

Overall, amazing phone. It's got all the fun features one would want and all the essential features one would need. Motorola has made another great phone!

almost perfect

just got the phone today. well....iam happy with what it can do, but there is a couple of things that i didn't like.

pros

nice screen
loud speaker
blue tooth
good pic and video quality
and alot more stuff

cons
only thing i didn't like is that the
outer screen cannot be change, that sucks.
i had the sanyo vm5500 and i could put pictures in the outer screen and this one u cant.

almost perfect moto.

Definitely Could Be MUCH Better!

I have been waiting for Verizon to release this and am so disappointed. I think it is a nice looking phone but I also think it feels cheap. The bottom of the keypad feels so flimsy. Too bad they didn't use metal like the V60. I could not hear well at all and it was like the other person was a million miles away and in a well. I was charged $359 for the phone and upgrade and another $59 for the accessories. Way too much for this I think. I think my Samsung 610 is a much better phone and I am going to take the 710 back asap. Hopefully they will get better!!

v710 is almost perfect

I have has Motorola phones for years and this by far is the most advanced. I would have liked the ability to change font size like the t720 and the backlight doesn't stay lit when the car or wall charger is connected.
Currently there is no way to transfer contacts from my T720.
The bluetooth works great with my Chrysler 300C.

Worse piece of electronics I've EVERY owned!

May 17, 2006 by watkino

That's right, I've been a geek for nigh 40 years and I honestly think, if we fellow V710 suckers tried, we could mount a class action lawsuit against Motorola for trying to pawn this piece of junk off as an actual cell phone.

I've owned this about 6 weeks (purchased brand new) and have already sent it in for warranty repair.

Though I question how one can "repair" such a poorly designed phone. I simply opened the flip cover to answer a call and the hinge broke causing the phone to literally fall into two pieces as it tumbled out of my hand onto the ground.

The camera is abysmal. The menu navigation is cryptic. The bluetooth connection with the supplied headset has consistantly horrid signal quality. The stereo headphone jack is unreliable (have to mash the jack to one side to get both stereo channels to work) - making the mp3 player feature worthless.

I honestly can't think of a single redeeming quality this phone has and will NEVER purchase a product from Motorola again.
