Great Basic Phone

Jul 29, 2006 by hdtravel

This is a very good basic phone. Easy to use, reliable, good audio, reception is solid. Highly recommended for users wanting just a phone and not alot of extra stuff that they never use. Great job Nokia !

Nokia is ALWAYS reliable!

I just bought this phone for my 17 year old son (his first cell phone), as I used the 6010 myself for a year or so, and was never disappointed. This is a good starter phone for a teen, or a good phone for someone just looking for the basics. The sound quality is excellent during conversation, the ringtones are nice and loud (also has vibe mode), and the phone has an excellent battery life. I think the display could be a little better (it's a wee grainy), but this phone is perfect for what it was intended for. A speakerphone would have been good, but honestly, I think that's the ONLY thing this phone lacks. I wanted my son to have a good dependable phone for emergency use, and this seemed to be the most logical choice. Nokia always seems to come through, and they definitely succeeded when they made the 6010.

This phone is totally worth the 69.99 paid for it.

Pros:
1. Easy to read display
2. Large Keys
3. Loud ringtones
4. Good Signal

Cons:
1. Very Large
2. Dirt easily gets inside or the phone

Do you want to Talk or Play on your cell phone?

Lets face it. This phone isnt made to be flashy or pretty. This is a durable little... or big... phone that has OUTSTANDING reception. No phone compares.

I give this phone a 5 because the only thing to make it better would be speaker phone.

The Nokia 6010 is a great phone

Nov 17, 2005 by Bob859

I have two of these phones. One is for Cingular (Blue) the other is T-Mobile. I like everything about the 6010. The reception is great. This phone works in places where other phones do not. I used a Nokia 3120 for awhile, but went back to my 6010 because the reception is better. I like the ease of use of the menu. I like the size of this phone. For T-Mobile, my 6010 works well in places where I can't even get a signal on my Samsung E715. I need to use my phones in a loud environment much of the time. The 6010 has much better volume than any other phone that I have used. I can't come up with one complaint.

Good Phone

I bought this phone about three months ago to use with a pre-paid account. I haven't used the phone a lot but from what I can tell it's a decent phone that I would recommend to anyone.

Battery life is good, reception is good in some know difficult areas, and the Nokia quality shows through in comparison to a Samsung 426 I use with a monthly account. Overall, I'd say this phone is above average.

50/50

Jun 29, 2005 by Kel42069

I think the Nokia 6010 is 50/50 for me on T-Mobile To Go
PROS-
nice little phone buttons are big enough though.
keypad glows nicely.
MMS capable (I'm able to send myself pics and sounds except files are small and the sounds are in .mid format)
I think it's a decent color screen better than my 3200.
loud ringers and good vibrating alert
good features for the price.
battery life is good.
CONS-
polyphonic ringers SUCK! I mean I guess it's the chords because I sent an MMS message to my VM Flasher and it sounded so much better.
reception is'nt great but that could be T-Mobiles fault.
no camera.
no mp3 ringers.
I felt that if I got a T-Mobile phone any one of them it would be much better than my VM service and phone NOT TRUE I think I planned on using my VM phone as backup now I'm considering using my 6010 as backup.
I feel dumb carrying around a kinda ugly phone I mean it's not the most attractive phone to me anyway I guess I like flip although 6010 is small.
So I guess I have mixed feelings plus it was kind of an impulse buy so I do kind of regret buying it and wish I'd gone with the Cingular GoPhone Samsung c207. I also realized I'm not the biggest Nokia fan even they are durable. So it's nice but has it's annoying downfalls.

GREAT FOR THE VALUE

This phone is very good for the value.

Great sound quality and good reception. The phone is easy to use. Very basic and simple. This phone is for people that want to just talk.

Con: not a flip phone. No big deal

No complaints with this phone. Again, overall good phone.

3rd phone in two months

Jul 27, 2005 by flybywire

I am on my third phone in little over two months. After two to three weeks, the keyboards locked or would put characters out at random and the battery had to be pulled to stop the characters or make the keyboard usable. Once this happens, it's perpetual and the phone is basically useless. It's not worth the aggravation even for a free phone with contract. I am also getting many more dropped calls than I've ever had. Would not recommend this phone to anyone.

poor clarity - want my "antique" back!

Jul 10, 2005 by zippity

I finally traded in my old, sturdy, back Nokia from 1998 and upgraded to this.

The sound quality is horrible -- I noticed that right away.

Receiving: I have to have the top of the phone placed just so over my ear, and even when perfectly situated the sound is tinny and weak

Sending: What part do you speak into? Where IS the microphone? If I knew, I could situate my mouth just so. People complain that they can't hear me on this cell, and this rarely if ever happened with the old Nokia.

Bells & whistles don't make up for the poor call quality.
