An awesome phone

Nov 11, 2005 by samsung_rox_my_sox

This phone is SO much better than my old Nokia 3560. It gets awesome reception and wonderful sound quality with Cincinnati Bell (a part of AT&T). It runs very smoothly and has so many more features than my Nokia did!

PROs:
-Great sound quality
-Great reception
-Wireless Internet is really helpful
-Unbelievably sturdy (has been dropped several times and not even a scratch!)
-Keypad is a cinch to use
-Really customizable (ringtones, ANIMATED wallpapers, colored font, text message sounds, keypad sounds, folder sounds, service light color, etc.)
-You can send little animations, pics, and sounds with text messages
-You can add recorded sounds to MMS's
-Voice recorder is really cool (this site doesn't say it has a voice recorder, but it does!)
-Has a cool little light that blinks when you have service, and then blinks faster when you receive call or text messages
-Menu is really easy to scroll thru, and if you don't like the grid style, you can change it to page or bar style
-Hot keys make opening applications you use often SO much easier
-Call and ringtone volume is perfect
-Games are fun (once you learn how to play them!). And the games aren't demos either!

CONs:
-No speakerphone. It would be nice, but I'll live
-Wireless Internet (GPRS) is kind of slow!
-Comes with bad ringtones, but you can download more. However, if you like plain ringtones, then it does come with two!

Overall, this is one fabulous phone. If you want a small, cute phone loaded with features, this phone's for you!

Best phone ever

This phone has been flawless in the 2 years I've owned it. Highly recommended to anyone who wants a cell phone that just makes and receives calls and does not need all the bells and whistles that most phones have today. The only con is that it does not have a regular ring tone available and the choice of tones were not that good.

samsungs are the best

I never had a problem with any of my Samsung phones really! The colour on my x426 is awsome, bright and attractive! And so was my first samsung, the x105 (which unfortunatly got misplaced)! Sometimes I use it as a flashlight when the electricty trips! The reception on this x426 baby has more power than any nokia or panasonic cellular that i ever put to my ear! one of my friends called me a couple of times and couldn't believe i was actually on a cellular! It was just soo much louder than the usually and just soo clear! CON- it doesn't have a spelling mode where you can save a word that the built in word list sometimes don't have.

Phone is great

I had this phone for a year and had no problems. It has great battery life. The ringer volume is loud enough to be heard from my pocket or purse. You can download ringer songs. I have to admit that I don't use the MMe (internet) that much due to the expense. However, the phone in general is pretty reliable and a great size.

PROS- small, great battery life, loud ringer volume

CONS- no speakerphone

hit or miss

May 12, 2005 by tomroc

this fon is really hit or miss. I bought the fon and loved it, until my friend found another one at the club and i used my Sim in the fon and it was working fine.....untill EVERYTHING started going wrong. I gave the IMEI to my provider (rogers) and it was working fine. I started to get a TM back everytime i sent a TM saying it was delivered. i called Rogers and they told me that they couldn't do a thing for me. then the fon started dropping LOTS of calls and was turning off by itself. many other issue too many to name plus half i cant remember cuz i since canceled and went to Telus.

Too Bad - It Looked Good

Mar 24, 2005 by lowtechmom

Being low tech I was looking for something simple to operate with good display features.
It met both of these criteria in the store, but actually talking to people on the phone was another matter. Every call we placed from San Diego or Riverside failed to make a clear connection. Calls were dropped continuously and when talking it sounded as if we (both my husband and I bought the same phone) were talking from an echo chamber. This is one of the worst phones I have ever used. I'm headed back with my reciept to find something better and I'm ready to pay for quality!

PRO: Nice display
Easy to Use
CON: What is the use of having a phone that sucks so bad you can't talk to anyone?

Im loving it already

I just got this phone today and i have had almost all of the cingular phones since 2000! I love to test new phones and try them out but something catches my eye about the x427m already. I had the LG L1400 camera phone and i hated it the battery life was horriable and the camera suxed.

Pros:
small and sleek
color screen
battery life
charges quite fast

cons:
ring-tones
wallpapers
you cant vibrate and ring all at the same time!

this has design flaw.. do not buy phone

Feb 22, 2005 by TedJr101

My sister and I have the x427 phone. It is thin and has good battery life. BUT.. when Samsung was designing this phone they made the left hinge hollow ( to allow the LCD ribbons to go thru it).. they made it TOO thin and it is VERY fragile. Both of our phones are now out of service due to this manufacturing defect, (and we did not purchase the insurance.. ) Cingular and Samsung will do nothing about it. I have ran across several other people who have had the same trouble with this phone. IF any one else has.. please let me know at tedjr101@pbtcomm.net I am trying to get a class action law suit started against Samsung.

THIS PHONE IS TERRIBLE!!

And yes, I meant to shout. Just what other reviews said, I sound loud to those I call. They sound like they're under water...can't understand most of the conversation. Microphone is super sensitive. Hated it the first day and have gotten nothing but the runaround from AT&T about getting a different phone. Two weeks later and much running around town to different stores, still don't have a phone I can use. So much for being a long time customer. Have been told by AT&T store employees that they have had to take back a ton of these but if you call their toll free number they deny any knowledge. Definitely a mfg. screwup but have had previous Samsungs with no problem. Save yourself a major headache and DON'T GET THIS PHONE.
