Nice sturdy phone

Dec 11, 2005 by Phillyzfinest91

I've had this phone for about 17 months now and I'm about to turn it in for a lg 9800...Not because anything's wrong with this phone but because I need a more txt based phone.

PROS
Decent camera
Sturdy build
Mobile web
TXT
Voice recorder

CONS
Choppy video
SLOW get it now
No speakerphone
No video messaging

If you are looking for a phone that is straightforward with a FEW features than this is definetly your phone. If you're someone (like me) who'll drop your phone constantly than this is your phone..Hope this review helped.

this was truely a great phone. i really wish i'd kept it. I had it on Verizonwireless in Ithaca,NY
Pro:
great camera
good size and bright screen
color outside display
small size
good keypad
great reception
Cons:
no speaker phone(can be lived with)
battery life is kinda short...but the pros still weight out the cons. i would recommend this to anyone.

i really loved this phone...wish i never returned it for a E815 which i didnt even like, then I was stupid enough to get an LG VX6100! bad choice! i really really want this phone back...

Great Phone

Just got this phone last weekend. So far I'm quite pleased. I do agree w/some of the pros/cons listed here. Pros are definitely the size/shape. Easy to use. Have set up voice calling to work w/minimum of keys. Volume/sound quality great. Camera great. Cons are the speakerphone, but don't think I'll miss it. Wish the front light would stay on for a little longer and perhaps be a little more colorful. One concern I have is that it is all digital. Did not know this when I purchased. Out of 4 bars of signal strength. I normally only show 2. Sometimes 1, occasionally 3. I am concerened that I will at times have no signal. I called Verizon and he assured me this shouldn't be a problem. On my old phone (tri mode) I always had great signal every where I went. If I am already starting out at 2 bars, what does that mean? I look at the maps for coverage and it looks like pretty much every where is digital. Therefore should I not have great signal strength everywhere I go. My husband and son both have verizon phones. If all three are lined up next to each other, theirs show anywhere from 4 to 6 out of 6 lines. Mine will show 2 out of 4. This concerns me. Otherwise, very content.

Good phone

I've had this phone for about 10 months now and overall it is a great phone. Call quality is great. Good receoption. Loud earpiece volume. Average camera for a phone. Easy to use. The only thing that could make it better would be speakerphone and bluetooth. If you don't want/need either of those then this is a good, small phone.

this phone rocks

I have had my a670 for 2 months i have not experienced any problems with this phone. How ever i had to figure out on my own. The only way you can get the outside display to light up is to hold the volume up or down key down for a couple of seconds and the light will come on without having to open the phone.Other than that this phone rocks good color quality, sound from ringers are very loud.

Good choice

I went through 7 phones before eventually deciding on the LG 8000. However, the Samsung a670 was my 2nd choice.

PRO
- Good audio quality, though the ear piece sound is a little tinny - not bad though.
- Decent reception, though the antenna signal bar reads low, which is a little deceptive.
- Menu system ok.
- The keyboard is decent, though the rocker switch is not as good as on some other phones.
- Compact and easy to handle.
- Sturdy pull-out antenna (all steel)
- Battery life average

CON
- Side buttons way too easy to accidentally press. I inadvertently sent several inbound calls to voice mail while trying to extract the phone from my hip holster.
- Camera quality low. Although I've never figured out the real purpose of having a camera on a cell phone, if that's what you are interested in, get one of the newer phones with the 1Megal-Pixal cameras.

If I hadn't stumbled across the new LG 8000, I would have stuck with this phone.

Decisions.....decisions

Nov 3, 2004 by derick1965

I recently was able to upgrade my phone and was in a quandary between the LG's and Samsung. My past phone was the Samsung a310. Loved the phone hated the ringers. Well I opted for the a670. What a great choice. They improved on things that needed improving and made some changes that are the best. More ring options...ie vibrate....vibrate and ring. Also it is much louder. The browser(I have the net) is faster. In my office hard to get good reception. The 670 pulls in signals a bit better....more bars than a310. Phone is a bit smaller than the 310 but has a much more solid feel. Only 1 drawback are the regular preprogrammed ring styles. Just hop on get it now and personalize your ringer for 1 time charge of $2. Love the phone and video. The menu selections are switched around a bit but you will get used to it. If you are in a jam and liked the old Samsung's buy the new ones....they are the best!

Signal and Battery Life

Oct 23, 2004 by 3fingers

I have been a fan of Samsung Wireless Phones for many years. The a670 is another success story with exception to the Battery Life which is TOO SHORT! And signal strength. The signal strength is now where as good as the a530. Samsung, Please improve the battery life of this phone. It is too nice to have such a petty issue.

Thanks

This phone has everything

Oct 22, 2004 by nimoso

This phone is sooooo great. It has everything. The problems with phones in the past, were- it had some things and it was missing the little things.
This phone has everything. Camera (with a flash) You can assign ringtones to each caller, The camera adjusts automatically, you can close the phone to take a picture and it will show up on the outside sreen as well as the inside screen, it has picture caller ID that can be viewed on the outside sreen, its small rather that bulky, it was the only phone that was recommended to me by a verizon employee, the reception in columbia south carolina is amazing (rare in columbia) awsome sounds......the pros are too many to name so find out for yourself- go buy it yourself, you wont be dissapointed.

cons- battery stinks. The life is short. I dont think that you can change the colors of the text or the menu.

other than these few flaws, the phone is perfect.
