Kinda sad

Aug 1, 2004 by drkpsycho23

I "upgraded" (lol) from an LGVX6000 and I'm not as impressed as I was after checking it out for the past two weeks. I'm having a decent time with it though. Only issues I have is that my flash is WAY too bright but I guess since its right next to the camera that was bound to happen. Plus my battery is like devoured by this thing. I had my LG for a whole year and still it lasted a whole day without dying too fast. This phone though, I think I'm gonna have to carry my charger around and charge it at the places I end up. If not then I'll just have to buy a spare battery.

can't do another samsung phone

i purchased the a670 and liked it, but something wasn't right. the first day i used it, i noticed the battery drained pretty rapidly over a 14-hour span. I took the phone off the charger at 7 am, and by 2 pm, i was down to two bars. didn't even make or recieve any calls! by 9 pm, after making 2 ten minute calls, i was down to 1 bar. i called the regional replacement center and asked for another a670, thinking the one i had was faulty. two days later, i got the replacement, and yep, it too did the same thing. plus, i experienced a number of annoying software glitches, especially with the camera functionality. the voice dial commands worked except for "contacts". reception was good, but some calls where distorted. it sounded like static when both parties talked at the same time (normal conversation). same thing used to happen with the samsung s105 i had with t-mobile.

bottom line, the form factor is great, but the phone is washed out with all the other silver flips with cameras. i returned the replacement and got the lg vx7000. my first lg phone and everything is good.

I Purchased This Phone On June 9, 2004. I Live In Santa Rosa Ca., And Last Weekend Went To Monte Rio, Ca., About 20 Miles Away. The Entire Time That I Was Gone, I Was Not Able To Receive A Signal To Call Out And Did Not Receive A Call.My Phone Carrier Is Verizon Wireless.Other Then That, The Phone Works Great.

I want a different phone

Sure, it looks pretty and sleek. Much to my dismay, I have gone through 3 of these phones in the past 2 months. The battery life is poor unless you upgrade to the extended life battery. The external LCD collects dust under the screen if you keep it in you pocket. (Which makes it impossible to see the caller ID in the light.) And my biggest complaint about this phone is it's horrible vibrate feature. Every other phone i have had vibrates well. I work in the television industry and need to have a phone that has a silent ring mode for being on set. I miss calls left and right because I can't feel this phone vibrate in my pocket. I wont notice a missed call until I go to make another one. The camera will constantly turn on in my pocket and snap photos. (Wastes battery life, and i have to go through and delete pics of my pocket.) I am not very happy with this phone because of its features, not to mention it constantly drops calls. I just wish Verizon had a bigger better selection of phones. Damn you Verizon....DAMN YOUUUUUU!!!!!

Samsung a670

Pros.
1) the color on the phone is good

Cons.
1) Phone gets way too hot
2) Every time I would send a text it would just shut off .. for no reason I took it back for repair but i also got the textin taken off so I don't know if it worked
3) My camera is green n yellow and the Color Tone is on normal I also sent it away to get that fixed but .. for some reason its not.

Their is alot more that I dont feel like saying right now but I am just glad I only had to keep it for 1 year and not 2

Sleek phone but poor sound quality

Feb 11, 2005 by tummibed

I decided to get this phone based upon the many positive reviews this phone got on this website. I love the physical appearance and design of this phone and also its compact size is great.

The only major drawback I have for this phone is that whenever I make a call I hear this humming static sound in the background. I'm not expecting it to be crystal clear or anything, but the static gets so loud that it makes it difficult to hear the other person. I also noticed that when the other person talks the static tends to get louder. Overall the sound quality is choppy. I called the VZN customer service line where I was transferred to the tech support department. She tried to troubleshoot the problem by having me reprogram the phone, however the static still remained. She also made sure I was on the correct roam setting (automatic - B) and also said there are plenty of towers in my area so I shouldn't be having this problem. Her conclusion was that its a faulty phone. I went to a Verizon store to see if I could exchange my phone, however there wasn't a single phone within a reasonable price range that appealed to me. I think this is the best looking reasonably priced phone that Verizon has to offer at the moment. Its just a bummer that the sound quality is poor. I mean the whole point of a cell phone is talk and communicate, but when the conversation is interrupted by static and beeping sounds the whole point of having a cell phone or conversation is obstructed.

Another con about this phone is that I get dropped calls. I can handle a dropped call every once in awhile, but its a bit much when I get 4 dropped calls in a row.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and I've used over 6 different cellular phones in the same area and I never had this problem before. So I'm led to assume that it has something to do with the phone.

Not bad but Skip it

Ok Ok its a cute little phone with a pretty good camera for a cell phone. My problem with this phone is the reception and the clarity. Yes I know it is a digital and that is the main problem with it. If this phone was tri-mode it would be a pretty good phone but it is not. Also one last thing, there are to many steps to complete in order to get through some functions.

Pro's:
little
lightweight
good camera
great LCD

Con's:
to many steps to complete some functions
BAD RECEPTION
BAD CLARITY

end of story !!!!!!!!!!
My new story begins with the Lg vx 6100
ah great phone

WARNING: People can eavesdrop!!!

Aug 9, 2004 by phonesage

Be warned about this phone: I simply can't hear the other person on the line unless I turn the volume of the phone to Level 5 (the highest) -- but the problem with that is the phone then becomes the equivalent of a speakersphone and anybody next to you can hear what your caller is saying. IT'S RIDICULOUS and FRIGHTENING!!! I didn't realize this until my boyfriend was trying out my phone and I could hear his friend talking and I thought I had the speakerphone option on but then I realized THERE IS NO OFFICIAL speakerphone function. This is a ridiculous design flaw. Somebody tell me my phone is faulty please....
