Galaxy S2 Review

Jun 17, 2014 by e_reynolds

I this phone for about 4 months. It was good toward the beginning when I had it. But for the past 3-4 weeks, it's been acting crummy. So I Had an ipHone before and it was ok. I just wanted to see wHat a Galaxy was like. I really want to switch back to the iPhone. But I am not liking it much now. It's slow, doesn't send texts (BTW i live in tHe city) so idk wHats wrong w/ it. It occasionally drops calls. So it's not turning out so well.

Galaxy S2 For T-Mobile a great fast phone.

May 23, 2013 by trevito

I had enough in my budget for the s3, but with walmart offering the S2 for $300 I couldn't resist especially because it offers the same specifications besides the s3's larger screen. So far this phone is like driving a brand new Mercedes! The jellybean update is available and i have it. it runs fast smooth and is for me the screen is the perfect size. If you are a rooter, this phone will do what ever you want it to. Great piece of art by samsung.

PROS:
Good size 4.5" screen
comes stock with ICS upgradable to Jellybean
Lightweight and thin
tough Gorillla Glass screen
Well designed and stylish chrome accents
Fast 1.5 Ghz processor
1 gb of ram
16gb built in memory
8 MP camera with flash and 1080p Video
everything the S3 has but cheaper and .3" smaller screen
perfect 4G signal everywhere

CONS:
Battery life can be better
Fragile micro usb port
without a case this phone will scuff easily

Overall a great phone, If you are in the market for a new high end phone at a decent price this is the phone for you. Samsung galaxy SII T989 is a great well bulit device.

Dont Do It!!

2 phones in 3 months third is being delivered on Monday.

1. I bought my Galaxy SII through customer service via the phone. The first phone they sent me was a used phone NOT a remanufactered and definitely no new (as it was supposed to be. I found music and pornographic pictures from the first user on the phone which tells me that they never reset the phone or even checked it out.

2. I also get constant complaints from people I am talked to that their voices are echoing back at them (both cell and land-line). I finally convinced T-Mobile to replace the phone.

3. received my new phone transferred all my data and then the new problems started, I dial a number, it rings, they answer the call and my Galaxy SII disconnects immediately. It takes on average 6-10 attempted calls where my phone disconnects before it finally holds the call. Then the echoing starts land-line, cell, speaker phone, blue tooth it doesn't matter it.

4. Picture quality is ok but definitely better on an HTC.

5. Screen display is nice but the brightness keeps resetting which is not readable in daylight. This is a pain to have to keep adjusting.

6. WiFi connection is easy but if you leave the zone during a call it drops the call.

Simply an amazing device!

I recently purchased the white edition for this phone online through T-Mobile. After threatening to switch to Sprint, they miraculously discovered a free phone credit on my account. I was skeptical at first, but all I can say is I am glad I stayed with them and got this phone.

Pros
-Processing speed is incredibly. No noticeable lag or bogging down

-The camera is blow away. I sometimes take pictures of random things just to see them in detail close up!

-Best screen available on a phone. Sure, 720p AMOLED would have been nice, but they don't incorporate the "plus" benefits. Plus you get the battery saving benefits, which leads me into my next point.

-Some peolpe claim you have to sacrifice battery life for a smart phone. This is simply not the case. This has slighly over half the capacity as the much touted Droid Razr MAXX battery, and I am getting similar life out of the GS2. Sometimes sheer capacity doesn't matter. It has more to do with how efficiently the device utilizes its power

There is just no where to begin how happy I am with this purchase. The things this phone can do never ceases to amaze me. The T-Mobile variant is hands down the best in every aspect. My friends are constantly coming up short with their devices :-)

T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 T989

I just bought this phone yesterday. I owned the Vibrant previously and what a step up. This phone to me has everything possible. I own the white version and I selected the black case, it looks awesome. This is probably the best Android phone I've had to date. I am a cell phone nerd/techy and its great.

Pros:
- 480x840 24bit 4.5 Super AMOLED Plus Display, this display beats out anything. I wish they could have updated the resolution.(Excited for the S3 to come out. 1280x720 24bit Super AMOLED Plus Display).
- Camera seems to be decent. 8MP w/ LED Flash
- Responsiveness from the Capacitive Screen
- Thin Build
- 2MP Front Facing Camera
- Loud/Quality Speaker Phone
- Android 2.3.5 w/ Touchwiz 4.0, It runs far better versus the older versions of Touchwiz.

Mids:
- 1.5ghz Dual Core Snapdragon S3 Processor, It runs well but not as good as the Exynos Processor built for S2s on other carriers.

Cons:
- There is no dedicated camera button.
- There is no LED notification indicator.
- You are not able to attach a signature to text messages.

Overall, I recommend this phone to anyone. The pros outweigh the cons. The cons are simply small issues. The phone features more than I can hope for. BUY IT!!!

Worst phone I have ever owned

On my second phone in a month. First phone completely died, would not hold a charge and did very strange things. New phone stays charged, but as is the case with all of these there is NO predictive text, NO spell check, NO suggestions when typing. Totally worthless and very annoying for trying to send text, or type anything for any reason.

Garbage and T-Mobile will not take it back and would not take it back when I was 5 days beyond the 30 allowed for returns, despite the millions of problems. T-Modile used to be great, now they are no better than anyone else when it comes to customer service. After 9 years with T-Mobile I am now leaving - all because of this lousy, inferior garbage phone. I will pay my $200 early termination happily to get rid of this junk.
