Call me NITRO!

Jan 2, 2012 by bill0480   updated May 5, 2013

This is the nicest phone I've seen. My wife and I each had a Galaxy S II Skyrocket for a couple of days before we switched to these. The Galaxy had no ability to voice dial the contacts. I had to prove that fact to several AT&T people. But thanks AT&T for making it right!

The screen is amazing, the responsiveness is excellent. Aside from a few minor and very infrequent glitches, I have no complaints about this baby! My only wish is that the voice control were better integrated with the OS. That is, I wish that I could start apps and have some control of the phone's settings. I am admittedly spoiled by Windows Mobile (now Windows Phone) and the included Voice Command that used to be a separate app (since 2003). I also wish the voice recognition were done on board without requiring a wireless connection (al-la Windows).

The battery discharge rate is high, so don't expect more than 4-5 hours of constant use. After 15 hours of nearly solid standby with Wi-Fi, 4G, Bluetooth and GPS all enabled my wife's phone had 79% charge remaining. This is according to the excellent free app "Battery Indicator". I think you can get much more battery life by installing Juice Defender. The free version of that app is something we avoided because it accesses every area of Android and the phone's hardware.
Pros:
Bright, super-sharp HD Screen, sunlight readable
Fast processing and very fast 4G speed
Pretty good voice quality
Excellent 8MP camera and 1080p video camera
Front camera is 1.3MP and can be used instead of the rear-facing camera
Can voice dial with or without using Bluetooth

Cons:
A few minor glitches, but those are very few and far between
Very limited voice control capabilities- but all Android devices have that, and some are worse
Power button position and size allows false turn-on/off when using a holster
USB port adjacent to other controls and its cover can get in the way

Nitro to my HD screen!

LG Nitro HD

Pro's:
Real HD device
Dual-core processor
8 MP HD camera
HD display with 1280 x 720 pixels
Uses Android
WiFi share
LTE compatibility
A lot of app's
Flash player

Con's:
Lag's sometimes even with the dual-core processor
As all the LTE devices if a call it's get during LTE navigation the device drop's to 3G and not 4G and you may wait 15 min to recconect to LTE or force it to LTE
Battery life it's not even decent
HD games are expensive
The front camera its 1.2MP this could be more
The device size it's to small for HD device

The device has the lates in HD funtionallity but actually the device size it's siimple too small, also the front camera has 1.2MP that's a shame for an HD device.

Also this device offers high compatibility for docs and file sharing via the WiFi wich make's all more easy, due no cable needed.

The HD games are expensive, i prefer to dowload the free ones.

The device lag sometimes if forced too much. When playing and changing from app's and not close them.

But in all cases it's an smoot device if you want to have fun with all you'r HD content, and if you don't have HD content there are better deal's in devices

Pretty Much Excellent

I work for At&t and all I do is play with the different phones and see what lacks in them and also what is good about them. I must say that this phone is an awesome phone! Despite its reviews online about its battery life, with the two apps, juice defender and advanced task killer the phone lasted all day just as my other android devices have. Overall sweet screen, quick processor, smooth interface. We have here yet another Iphone killer, seriously

PROS

Sharp screen
quick 4G, LTE
Decent Battery life
Quick processor
Smooth interface
Ease of use
Awesome gaming graphics
Excellent Reception technology

CONS

Could have a bit better battery life
was a bit laggy like twice

well...

I want to like this phone. I really do. I love the interface, especially after the ICS update. But a pretty interface doesn't make up for the fact that this is the single worst piece of technology I've ever owned - and I still have a Sega Saturn. The battery life is absolutely horrid, and this thing crashes more than drunk Lindsay Lohan. I'm honestly surprised it hasn't crashed as I'm writing this. I'll be bringing it back on Thursday and getting something hopefully less buggy, which shouldn't be hard.

PROS: love the interface, very customizable, data speed is remarkable.

CONS: crashes all the time, battery life is horrible, several apps FC as soon as they're launched.
