Good little phone
Ok. I have had Cingular/T-Mobile/Sprint and I must say that this phone is not that bad. The menu options are laid out a little funny, but overall a good little phone. Reception is great on this phone. The display is better than 3595 which is probably the only comparable model. I could not get the email client to work, but I don't know if that is Cingular/Sony or my email provider. I will agree that the buttons are a little bit small, but it is a small phone, so if you buy, get use to it. Battery is awesome, 2-3 days between charging. For an entry level phone, I'd recommend it.
Excellent Phone
I give it a 4.5 rating but might as well given it a perfect 5.
My only complain is the size of the buttons.
It rates with an "A" in battery life, ease of use, sound, etc.
Exactly what you expect on an entry level GSM and then some.
I LOVE THIS THING
First I had Cingular, then changed to Verizon because they supposedly had "better" phones. Well, I had the Audiovox 8600 when I was with Verizon and I hated it due to both service and phone. I love this T226 because of reception, call quality, and user-friendliness. Great phone -- compact and light. Get it!
NO GOOD
I don't like this phone. The coverage is the worst of any phone that I have ever had, and the display is a poor excuse for a color screen. It is, however, lightweight and compact, with an easy-browsing menu, but the bad far outweighs the good. Maybe it is good in other states, but in Nevada it sucks. Then again, most AT&T phones that I have had in Nevada have not been good.
Very Disappointed
I am very disappointed in the T226. I have switched to GSM from TDMA in order to get all the new features and options available. We recently had an emergency where my daughter was involved in an accident. We had 6 dropped calls, no signal, and when we finally got connected we couldn't hear each other. This is local in Oklahoma City so there shouldn't be a problem with a signal.
You Could Do Better
I work for Cingular this was the first Cingular phone that I owned. I recommend a Motorola or Samsung product instead. This phone is not very good. I now have a Motorola V400 and it is an improvement. The one thing I can say is a plus is the battery life. For the phone to be so small, the battery is very good.
Awsome Phone!
This phone has a great color screen. Battery life is great. the ringers are LOUD and sound good! you can download ringers and pictures! there is an optional camera that you can get,but i havent tried that yet. Ive had this phone for about a month now and the only problem i can think of that im having with it is sometimes it doesnt turn on right away, but that might be me? i could be pushing the button to lightly sometimes! HaHa. It always has a great signal sometimes when im in school though it doesnt. but inside at home it has a full one.Menus are real easy. For some people the keys might be a little small, when my dad used it he complained that he could barley see and push them.(he needs glasses though!) Sometimes when i am accessing my voice mail the recorded lady on it cuts in and out but my normal calls are always fine! GREAT PHONE!
Great phone for beginners
I have had many phones in my life. I own a Samsung x426 as my main phone with AWS and this phone is my secondary phone also with AWS. This phone is good for a first time user or someone who doesn't care about the bells and whistles like a camera, 65k color screen. etc. Ok here are the straight pros and cons...
Pros:
Nice small size, easy to use, lots of space to download games and ringtones, LOUD ringers and strong vibrate feature, pretty soft buttons considering their size
Cons:
No camera, screen color only 512 colors, Calendar is non existent (you can only list "events"), Standard ringers are cheesy, screen hard to see in direct sunlight
I do highly recommend this phone if like I said you don't care about "bells and whistles" and you just want a phone that rings. If you want something with more bells try the SE T616. You will not be sorry.

gettin it soon cuz att sent to the wrong adress but is jus as good if not better than the nokia 3100 and its free as an upgrade unlike the nokia 3100 which is 50 bucks. the only thing nokia has that this doesnt is a glo in da dark thing.
GSM
I do not own this phone but will be buying it soon. Why not right now you might ask? GSM coverage is not ready yet. For those of you who don't live in NYC or California and most of the Gulf Region this doesen't apply to you because your area is primarily GSM. GSM is the technology that works with something called GPRS which is what your phone uses to do the wireless internet express. Or WIX. TDMA is the other technology which has been around for a long time but doesen't have the capabilities that GSM has. Cingular, AT&T, T-Mobile are 3 MAJOR players in the GSM market and are vastly expanding it with new towers. I would say that by the end of the year it will be a whole new ballgame for those of you who live in rural areas. (just outside of town not Podunk, Egypt). Until then the T226 is the most valuable phone pound for pound.
