SE44 Slider for Alltel--Nice

Dec 28, 2004 by cjg

This is a really neat phone.

Pros:

Nice ringtones
Compact design
Excellent reception

Cons:

So-so battery life
Slider gets annoying
Flush keypad is tough
Screen is a bit dim

All in all, it's a fun little toy, but I ended up taking it back because the slider got on my nerves. I'd recommend it if you like the slider though.

Just get it...!

The 'Slider' is definitely an awesome phone. As soon as I saw this phone on the virgin mobile website I feel in love. It's has just about everything I could have hoped for. It's stylish, uniquely designed, has great reception, almost all the features I wanted (including color screen, downloadable ring tones, and text messaging), but best of all it's pre-paid. Overall this phone is awesome, one of the best I've seen and the best I've ever purchased. If you're looking for a unique 'pre-paid' phone, this is the one to get!

A sharp looking phone

My friend has the MTV edition of this phone and loves it. You can't ask for a cooler slider. It is lacking some of the features of other Virgin Mobile phones but all in all it has all the basics plus MTV content and it will adjust volume when your background noise increases.

VERY NICE

I have had the kyocera slider v5 w/ virgin mobile for about 48 hours and I am loving it. The slider is a very eye-catching phone. This phone looks so nice, one of the best looking phones I've seen. The sliding faceplate really makes it very eye-catching and adds a certain attraction to the phone. There are not many features on the phone but the features that are on the phone work well. I recommend this phone to people who want a very nice looking phone with the basic features and a few extras.

Pros:
Very nice Speakerphone
4 Fun games
Very nice sliding design
Virgin Xtras
17 wallpapers
8 screen savers
extras-scheduler,calc.,voice memo,alarm
Cons:
No camera/video recorder
No superphonic ringtones
Polyphonic ringtones suck
Built it ringtones suck
No downloadable graphics
No downloadable games
Can't record song to make ringtones

This phone does have a few missing features, but they aren't very important. I think this phone is great!

Cute and Easy to Use

Dec 9, 2004 by sms81

My boyfriend and I are currently sharing three different Virgin Mobile phones--and this one is actually kind of fun to use: the design is great, it's very small & very lightweight, and it comes with quite a few features. The only cons are that the screen is always exposed (and thus I don't like to just drop it into my purse) and my boyfriend finds it a bit difficult to send text messages from this keypad. What I love most about the phone is that it is a pay-as-you-go plan, which is so easy & flexible.

i love my slider

i have had this phone for about 2 months and my fiance got hers at the same time. we are absolutely satisfied with this phone it is the best phone either of us have owned!!

the only downfall i have with this phone is the position of the back button (kinda hard to get to with big hands)

I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER LG AGAIN THEY ARE TERRIBLE!!!

Hey this is a good phone

The story on this phone is its novelty and its reception. Yes its reception. I have had the Samsung I600 and the LG VX4500 on Verizon and I can tell you the reception on this phone is hands down the best. I thought the reception on the I600 was horrible and the LG; although it would show one or two bars of service you could not get a call out. I have only seen searching for service once with this phone in a month where as with the other 2 it was a regular occurrence.

I use the phone 3000-4000 minutes per month and I find the battery lasts the day. The slider does have a speaker phone. Speaker phones are like camera phones; I have never seen a great one. However, the Slider's is on the better side and it is useable although I find it easier to use the headset.

I did not give the phone a perfect score because the phone memory is limited to 200 entries and yes the key pad is small. You do get used to it after awhile. Also, you cannot charge the phone if you are using it. So if you run down the battery and try to make a call with it on the car charger you will not be able to use the phone until it charges back up.

If you are looking for a phone which is easy to carry, has good reception and battery time, has a useable speakerphone and you don't care about a camera or limited phone entry storage this is your phone.

AWSOME!!!!

I LOVE MY KYOCERA SLIDER!!! I have been a motorola freak for a long time now and i decided that i wanted to try the kyocera because i really liked the way it looked... I wasnt very happy with the keys being so small when i first got it, but i soon got used to that... I love this phone... i am one of those people that have to have the latest phone, so needless to say i have had many phones over the year, but this one has to be my most favorite... there are only a few things i dont like about it, for one, the text mess when u are texting u cant go from line to line u have to move letter by letter, and the fact that when u are charging it on your wall charger it doesnt charge if u are on a call.. but besides that I love it! i really love the awsome design and for the man who was talking abt the not being able to just change ring volume without going through the menu..U CAN! :) jsut set ur circular key on the front to change ring volume by holding it down... u can find out how to do that in the tools... also by holding down the # key it will set it to vibrate...hopw that helps...:) I HIGHLY recommend this phone, its great!

Good phone

This is my very first cell phone, and I have to admit - I am impressed. It has a lot of pros and some cons.

Pros
- Neat Speakerphone
- 99 speed dials
- Contact Fast find is awesome
- Shortcut key. I have kept my voice memo recorder as the shortcut which is very useful
- NO ROAMING. Big one! I love this feature. Prevents you from making or receiving calls when in a roaming area. Saves $$ for those who mostly use it for unimportant domestic calls.
- Battery life is pretty good. I have to charge it every 3rd day.
- Time pauses between dialing numbers. It is a very useful feature for someone who calls foreign countries and uses calling cards. You can insert a pause of 2 seconds and multiples of 2 before letting the phone dial the second number.

Cons
- KEYS, KEYS, KEYS. They shud've been a wee bit bigger.
- Doest not allow any operation without sliding it open. Thats annoying coz I felt it wud've been lot more useful if I was able to answer calls without having to slide it. My husband has a QCP 3035. He has his keypad locked coz there were several mis-dials. But when there is an incoming call the phone allows him to answer it without unlocking the keypad. I expected the same feature in se47 and was dissapointed not to find it.
- You cannot assign tones to your alarm. Its just one standard tone. I am a woman and thats important for me :)
- Text input takes longer. I wouldnt use it for txt msging.
- Does not use charge from charger when making a call though its connected. It uses the phone battery and disconnects you if it running low but does not take charge from charger. You have to be off the phone to charge it.

ONE COMPLAINT

May 20, 2004 by meoff_69

Just bought the phone today. Have only one complaint so far other than no camera. You cannot charge and talk on the phone at the same time. If the battery is dead and you plug it in you cant use it till the phone is charged. That is my one complaint so far. Other than that i love it.
