I miss this phone

Feb 28, 2009 by Rehtef

This phone had excellent reception. It always worked. The Antenna was it soft spot. If you want games this isn't for you.
It was a classic.

Not to Shabby

I am extremely happy with this phone. I broke my moto E815 and bought this one off of Ebay for $30. Works almost just as good as the E815. Reception is not as strong, but overall comparing this phone from the past to current phones I give it a 5 out of 5.

Good

I had this phone for verizon for over a year and it worked very well. The only things that I didn't like about it were that it was very thick and bulky, almost twice as thick as most newer phones, it doesn't have very good ringers, you can either choose plain or weird music-y ones, and the screens are black and white. I had very good service with this phone everywhere I went, and I don't really care about cameras and all that stuff, so I thought it was pretty good. It held up well and didn't get too scratched up, either, even though I wasn't very gentle with it. My parents like it now because it's large and easier for them to hold than the new tiny phones that are popular now.

Its good

Its a good phone for just talking and texting. Has no video games, poly ringtons, color background, camera etc. Its a sturdy phone though, can say I've dropped it out of my car and pocket a few times, and yet it doesn't even scuff up on the outside! A little heavy though, but gets excellect reception indoors and such. Very loud speaker phone and ring tones!!! Overall its okay for the none tech person who wants a simple phone =p

Best Phone Ever

I think that this is the best phone that Verizon has ever offered. I've owned them all. From t720 v60s and other models. E815 v710, Kyocera Slider and swivil phone..this phone beats them all. Just buy the high performance battery. NOT THE extneded battery. I doesnt add any size to the phone, it just increases the talk time to 300 minutes.

The Worst Cell Phone I've Owned

Pros: Nice appearance design

Cons: Major flaw in the charging port. We have (2) of these phones. (1) began having charging problems almost immediately. The other after about 9 months. When you plug the charging cable into the port...it just won't charge. (1) service technician even told me....if you get it to charge make sure it's laying on the floor and nobody touches it. That was about 6 months ago. Both service technicians and other cell phone users have expressed having the same problems with this phone. We currently have to switch batteries to a good phone to charge them since the port and cable won't work.
The other con is poor reception or signal, being cut off frequently on calls in low signal areas. We had a Kyocera which was great in the same areas, so go figure.

NOT GOOD for a biisness phone

We decided to try Verizons PTT feature for our small buisness. I have used Nextels for other company's for years and really liked them. When we started this company 2 years ago I personally had been with Verizon since they bought out Airtouch with great service, so we decided to give their PTT network a chance. The only phone offered for that service at that time was the Motorola v60 Not good, PTT limited areas and dropped connection often. We just dropped the PTT feature and oped for cell to cell contact. They sent us out new v60's without the PTT feature and the phone is junk!!!
PROs
it is a phone

Cons
Poor reception
Drops calls often
Short battery life
Constantly says "missed call" without ringing

V60Perfection

I have recently purchased a V60P off of E-Bay after loosing my Audiovox CDM8910 while deep sea fishing. At first I was sick at the idea of loosing this phone. I had an old T720 that I was using in its place until I read up on the V60P. I purchased my V0P and am happy to say, I am glad I lost my 8910. This is a very user friendly phone. No bells and whistles, just a solid well built, nice phone. The reception is outstanding compared to other phones I have used (Aud. 8910, Mot T720) even with the stub antenna. It is great if you need a phone to do what a phone is designed to do, communicate on, not take pictures (buy a camera) and stuff like that. I have had no dropped calls or any problems with this phone. I have not signed up with the PTT so can not comment on its usability. I was so pleased with this phone that my mom and dad also bought one off of E-bay. I love the speaker-phone on this phone. I can sit it anywhere in my truck and talk and hear just fine. The ring tones are so loud, I have to keep the ringer turned down so it doesn't heart my ears. I have constant ringing in my ears and it is hard for me to hear ringers and the people I talk to on some phones, but not the V60P. It is crystal clear! This is one awesome phone, and I will use this one till the buttons fall out of it, then I will find another one. You can find these phones under $50 on E-Bay and I recommend you buying one today. Are you still reading this? Get going and go buy one of these awesome phones, You will not be sorry! I back this phone 100%!! If you are still reading this, someone has just bought the phone you could have bought, so don't waist any more time, GO GET ONE!! P.S. Thanks to Motorola for such a great phone. I am sorry I didn't buy one when they first came out. Shame on me....

Wish they were still available

Rugged- Reliable- Clear- Loud- Overall excellent. Not for kids or the trendy but for people who want a phone that works with no fancy extras.

Great phone

I've had this phone for over a year now and it has been the best phone for me so far, i never dropped a call or never had any of those problems that other users mention.I live in south Fl and travel to CA frequently, i noticed that battery lasts longer in Fl than in CA, I asked a Verizon technician about this, he said Verizon uses 1900MHZ in Fl and 800MHZ in CA.
If you want a simple phone with excellent call quality and reception and ear piece volume with no bells and whistles,go with this one, this phone first came out in late 2003, a year & half later Verizon still sells this phone (on line).
For people who can not see well screen and the buttons might be too small.
