worked amazingly for 6 months, JUST NOW spazzed out.

Hmm. well, i got the LG Genesis through US Cellular on my birthday in July of 2011. at first i was weary of the phone only because the size and it was the first smartphone ive ever had. it took me a very short amount of time to figure out how it fully worked, and when i figured it out i fell in love with my smartphone. mostly pros, but a few cons come with everything.

pros; the mobile hotspot. it allows you to play your games, get on the internet, and do just about everything you want to do while youre on the phone with somebody. its not very laggy all the time, but when it is it usually does the auto reboot & starts right back up. never crashed fully.

cons; when it was laggy, it was stupidly laggy and made me want to snap the screen from the keyboard! but i worked through it since it would auto reboot & be fine when it came back on. the size; the keyboard is perfect and i absolutely LOVEE the double touchscreens, its great for multitasking! the storage it has on it us overwhelming! i have a little over 300 songs, over 200 pics, and 4 video recordings on it. and that hasnt even taken up 6mb of the internal memory. my 8gb micro sd card that comes with the phone only has work files that i choose to save on it.

Just about 10 minutes ago, the screen would start flashing and then it just, boom! shut itself down and hasnt came back on since. it WONT come back on. ill be visiting US Cellular tomorrow. just because of this crash, i will be replacing it. good thing i have free replacements with deductibles!

IF ANYBODY DECIDES TO BUY THIS PHONE, WORK THROUGH THE LAG. BUT IF IT CRASHES, I WOULD RECOMMEND SWITCHING, as im going to.

Overall, Great.

I bought this phone about 3 weeks ago, to replace my Samsung Caliber that had finally died out. At first, I was a little wary of the phone, it seemed a little odd running, but then things smoothed out. Overall, this phone is great, the keybaord is just the right size and has a great layout, but is sometimes a little laggy. The spell-check program is very great. Just a few pro's and con's:

Pro's:
Very high audio quality - Sound is perfect, even for songs with very high details, such as Dubstep music.

Easily accessible - This phone has so many different options for accessibility, from just a slider to open the phone, or the famous pattern lock. All of the menus work well and the layout is easy on the eyes.

Fair memory size - Mine game with 500Mb of memory on the phone itself, with an 8Gb microSD card, which is more than enough, unless you want full movies or a large quantity of music.

Fully customizable - The apps for this phone make almost anything possible, from data trackers, to moving wallpapers that react to sound during a phone call, it has endless options.

TWO TOUCH SCREENS - This feature makes for a heck of an opportunity for multitasking.

Finally, my personal favorite...
Browsing the web during a call - You can do almost anything while taking a call on this phone.

Con's
Slightly bulky - Not too bad, but won't fit some pockets.

Lagmanaia - Unless you get an application managing app, you will get lagged to absolute death by background programs.

Occasional crashing - This is somewhat rare and usually app-related, but the phone will sometimes crash, and do a quick reboot.

Syncing Problems - For the first few times trying to connect the phone to a PC, you will want to throw it at a wall. It can be extremely annoying for the computer to detect it as a storage device.

Overall, I enjoy owning this phone. There are a few problems, but everything about it is still far above average.

LG Genesis... I'm impressed!

Jun 21, 2011 by RedwoodCellularGuy

Let me start out by saying that I do not personally own this phone, but I DO work at a retail location, I have sold several, and played with the phone at length. I personally own the LG Optimus U, and I LOVE that phone... but the LG Genesis is soon to replace it, I think.

Pros:
*Quick and responsive
*x2 Touchscreens
*MASSIVE keyboard
*Android 2.2
*Feels good in hand

CONS:
*Expensive... After tax, in California, it comes to $294.99
*Might be too heavy for some users at 6oz
*Uses a processor that has been on the market for a while... 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8650, same processor as in the HTC Desire...

Now, these cons could be seen as neutral or even as pros in the right light... The HTC desire is a very popular phone, and the processor is a pretty good one. I personally like my phone top have a bit of weight... I used to work for AT&T, and I wanted the Samsung Rugby during that time, which is a pretty heavy phone.

As for call reception, the people I have sold it to have reported no problems, and we are in a mountainous region that is notorious for 'blind spots'... but that is a running theme for LG (having a pretty good signal strength)...

All in all, I recommend the LG Genesis, and when I can, I'll be upgrading, and passing my Optimus to my wife. :)
