love it

it may not be for the person who wants the hero or the evo, but i LOVE it!!

the virtual keypad is SUPER smooth just like the ipod touch! hero NOT AT ALL i HATED HATED typing on it.

internet is a little slow but i am used to a BB so this doesnt bother me at all, sprint tv works GREAT.

i would not suggest getting this phone if you want a super smooth screen or a super top of the line phone this is just not for you, now if you are texter & just want the internet & apps this phone will be great for you.

I really dont have any CONS on this phone so far..

RUN, don't walk, AWAY FROM THIS PHONE

Jul 18, 2011 by Lunazul

This is the worst phone I have ever owned. I came from a blackberry because I wanted to be able to sync with an online calendar. That was the first nightmare.
Without going into the dirty details - I've had to have this phone factory reset 3 times, had it replaced once (so far), and it still doesn't work like a phone should.
It lags, it freezes up, it reboots itself, it sends text messages and makes phone calls by itself - and I'm not talking about purse/pocket dialing - it does it laying on a table without being touched.
A conversation with Customer service drains the battery, not to mention your patience.

Pros: slide out keyboard, it's pink
Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE

Despite thousands of complaints from Intercept owners on their website forum, my carrier has only just begun to have someone attempt to provide resolution, which includes a recommendation to download 3rd party apps which void the warranty, and now he's censoring complaints about the phone and complaints about the service carrier.

Special highlights:
~Sync results in contact information being transferred to the web, then transferred back to the phone, resulting in the same contact being listed multiple times.
~You can't change an email address without a factory reset.
~If you save your doctors as contacts, but use "Dr." for a first name, or even just put "Dr Smith" as a last name, you can't search for them that way - it will say there are no contacts by that name.
~You can't delete unwanted apps that were factory installed, even though they have a tendency to open when you don't want them to, and drain your battery and resources
~The "Service Tech's" recommendation is to not use apps because they drain the phone's resources & battery
~The phone signed itself up for a "free trial" of a voice-to-text translation service for voicemail that was non-reversible. I was told that if the phone also signed itself up for the actual service, I should call in to cancel it.
AVOID THIS PHONE AT ALL COSTS!

Samsung Intercept Is cute in style ONLY!!

My Samsung Intercept has poor sound quality. I can hear the other party but when I speak into my phone, they cannot understand me...sound is poor and garbled. I found the apps hard to download and the touch screen did not always respond promptly. A lot of times my screen would freeze up and I steadily was having to remove the battery and start over again. When I would text someone it took a long time for the msg. to be sent, and a lot of times it was sent to drafts because it was not sent. I am not impressed with the phone, nor will I ever recommend it to anyone. The plan I was using with my samsung intercept was 450 minutes of talk time, and the longest I ever talked on the phone in one month's time was 27 minutes. Please if you are reading this, NEVER, purchase this phone. In my opinion, it's not only a waste of money, but a waste of time and effort also.
Thank You!

Worst android phone ever

Mar 8, 2011 by spacemonkey1

The performance of this phone is incredibly bad. The phone is always lagging and freezing up. When I got the 2.2 Froyo update, some problems went away such as randomly losing my data connection. However, the Froyo update came with several problems. Whenever I went to messenging and began typing a name in the recipient box, it would put a space and a comma after each letter I entered. Also, the phone would randomly shut off, when using the physical keyboard, it would enter keys I didn't press... just weird things.

One thing I did like was the ability for the phone to become a WiFi hotspot.

Samsung Intercept for Sprint

Jan 19, 2011 by batman2k97

This device is yet another excellent device from samsung with google. What made me get this device is because of the fact that the htc hero is outdated and is about to be discontinued through sprint, although it has htc sense it wasn't good enough because it doesn't have a physical keyboard and I'm a man with big fingers so I had to give this phone a try.

Pros:
Battery life (phone lasted me almost 2 days on a single charge and I use my phone for everything... technically I don't even need a computer)

Android 2.2 froyo
Wifi
Android market
3.2 MP Camera with video capture (no flash)
Sprint
800 mHz processor

Cons... hmm I don't really have any cons for this device... I mean sure it would freeze up if you didn't use you task manager that's built in with the 2.2 froyo or download task killer froyo in the market.... learn how to use your phones and the software before coming on here and not giving it a fair review.

NICE

I think that Samsung brought out a nice android phone that has a great responsive touch screen and smooth keyboard, the internet is rev o which could have been a little bit better, but for the price of this phone and the battery life and the smooth quality of how the phone functions is absolutely amazing. I think this phone is a great fit for a starter just getting into the android market. Its not some high powered phone but its very much worth the price that you pay. Cons are battery life battery life and battery life, not one android phone has had very good battery life even with a task manager. Overall i definitely recommend this phone!

A lot of things it is, but a reliable phone it is not

To call this a "smart phone" would be doing injustice to all the other real working phones out there. It does a lot of things but doesn't do any of them well at all.

The "phone" part is my main complaint. It will fail to receive calls about 25% of the time. When it does ring, you may not be able to answer it (phone may lock up, not respond to your touch, etc). On the good days it will start to ring after about 4-6 rings. (from the originators point of view.)

Don't rely on this phone to call 911 in an emergency. Better to send up smoke signals, it'll be faster.

(I may go back to my Sanyo Flip phone)

I agree with all the other complaints about it being s l o w. Why give us the option to run apps when running more than 1 will bog it down?

Supposedly we (Virgin Mobile) get the Android 2.2 update starting this week. We'll see if that helps any.

Pros - Battery has been fairly good. Slide out Keyboard is great. GPS function is cool and useful when the unit is co-operating. Camera isn't bad for a cell phone camera. Speech to text is very handy as is Google voice search capability. Audio output is quite good on speaker/videos.

Cons - You must be patient and wait for each screen to respond which could be 10-30 seconds. Reboot time is 4-5 minutes! Arrgh! Default email program is poor, download another one that actually works. Touch screen, well they could have taken a lesson from Apple (And I'm not a big Apple fan)

Great phone ,If you know how use it!

I can't stand people that put bad reviews out there when they have no clue what there doing there just real fast to get on the Internet and bash things.

Well to start off this phone does about 85% of what other android O.S phone that clams to be better ,But you have to root the phone, Then you overclock it,Download many of the apps that optimize the phone, And it will do just about anything that the evo can do,It's just not as pretty and not 4 g

But with all of that aside this phone (rooted) is great ,And not rooted its slow but with task killers the phone runs smooth but not as bad as the htc hero don't even get me started on that crap now that phone is junk ,but I never rooted that one but I hate htc they make stupid phones.

People need to understand that smart phones are only as smart as the person using it

Why do you think the iphone is so hot because people have no clue how to use a real smart-phone

Please Do Not Buy This Phone!

This phone is incredibly slow and although I do like the ergonomics, it is not worth the money, even of you get it for free. All apps lag and opening any program takes far too long. My wife currently has an LG optimus and it is a joke how much faster it is. I love Samsung and I love Sprint. This device is simply an unusual occurrence of pathetic performance.Do not ignore this review!
