Mixed Feelings With This One

Apr 6, 2010 by thesuperbatman

Let me start by saying that this phone is absolutely amazing have had it four days now but there are a few things that I have mixed feelings about!

-Mixed Feelings
The screen on this phone is out of this world, but how it operates can be a bit better. I say this because the screen only rotates when you turn it 90 degrees to the left but not to the right. Not a big miss but eh ill get use to it.

Started to like the HTC Sense when I first got it like how it swypes down to view your favorite programs, people, music shortcut, messages, e-mail, etc. But there got to a point where things didn't go so wlel for me. For example you can only play music on the HTC Music Player when you access the music directly through it, but if you go to your explorer and try to play it from there it goes to Windows Media. Just, something qwerky about me I guess.

Now, the big one for me. I love my music to death especially when in a relaxing type of mood. So I have my phone on the Normal Profile listening to music through my headphone then I go to change it to Vibrate and then the music cuts. Turns out in Vibration mode there is 0% system volume so you have to go through and turn it up manually every time because the setting does not save. Yikes!

Because of the second point, turns out that I get a much better experience with the Windows Default theme than covered up with HTC Sense. Not sure if thats so good for HTC Sense.

+Pros (just to name a few)
(+++++) Amazing HD Display. Not too GLASSY.
(Gotta watch Transformers if you have this phone.)
(++++) Wireless Router Capability
(Cool to whip out if your friends have no data plan.)
(+++++) Unlock Screen
(Efficient unlock screen.)

-Cons
(----) Windows Default vs. HTC Sense
(---) Internet Explorer & Opera
(Double whammy with those two. Go Skyfire!)
(-) Windows Mobile 6.5
(WM? Sure wish I could load Android 2.1 on it)
(-----) No Windows Mobile 7?
(Heard this one couldn't upgrade to it when it releases.)

Owner since it came out in may.

Other phones previously owned:
Nokia n97
Iphone 3g

Pros:
Great screen size
Great picture quality
Great camera w/ auto focus
16g of memory
tethering

Cons:
When texting on this phone, it can't really tell what letter you're trying to press. I got to space and it goes back, i got to b and it gets n. I really dislike the texting on this phone due to the fact that i have to keep retyping and fixing it so much. Now, I have small fingers (5'3 at 120 lbs) so you can't say that my fingers are to big.
Even with the fast processor, this phone just lags and freezes all too often. After powering off and powering on it takes a good 5-10min to even place a call. This phone has had the screen freeze more that 5 times within an hour on one occasion.
I would not recommend this phone to any of you out there. I would rather have a Nexus one of the iphone over this anyday.

Not an android BY FAR

Several reviewers talk about potential - that sums this phone up well. It has a lot of potential, unfortunately none of it realized.

Pros:
- nice feeling phone from construction standpoint

Cons:
- NO APPS - again NO APPS. None of the android market available and MOST apps cost $$$
- Windows format
- Does NOT update contacts via GMail account
- a little too big
- NOT intuitive
- poor data entry interface, senseless
- lack of ability to format home screen the way you like, as with androids

Go with a REAL android - the whole point of an android is LOST on this phone.
