Palm Pre plus

Mar 26, 2011 by cadycastro

Where do I begin--terrible selection of apps, few of which are free, keypad doesn't work half the time, phone locks up periodically for no reason, longest start-up and shut down on earth, poor customer service, poor interface with yahoo, etc., short battery life. I've had 2nd generation phones with more advanced features and better reliability than this one.

Worst phone ever, IMO. Can't wait to get rid of it.

palm in general..

This phone is pretty cool from a general standpoint, but I've had a couple customers that whether they have the palm pre or the pixi, they have gone through 3 warranty replacements already- palm keeps fucking up. i dont recommend it after what my customers have gone through. theres not another phone ive seen such trouble with.

The Pre also serve as a hot spot - free so I can use my other HTC to write a chapter and e mail it without a need for $30 a month media package.I just wish more professionals would be aware of those great staff.
Pro
-best organizer out there
-small but big bright screen
-help you put your life in order
cons
- you cannot always control font size

Phone seems to have pretty much anything you will need

PROS:
Great calendar
WEB is just as fast as any other internet pictures are good
Screen size is awesome
Alarm clock
Reception
24/7 free instant chat support

CONS:
Battery life stinks although i did just update my phone with the new software... seems to last longer.
No option to set for a reminder for example is you received a Voice Mail / text message most phones you can set it to remind you if you miss the message this phone don't have that.
No option to adjust your backlight length of being on.

Switching from Droid..

Allright!

So Palm finally does it right. Welcome back Palm. Or, shall I say HP?

This device is truly unique. It took about a day to figure things out. But once I did, I found myself saying.. Wow, what a smart thing to do.

Screen is awesome
Size, Feel and overall performance is stellar. I am still using the new Bold from BB on VZW and gotta say, the processing between the two does not compare.

Speakerphone, media and keypad is great!

The only glitch is that the battery life is about a day but what device isnt these days.

I absolutely recommend this phone to anyone. The only rule, give it 24 hours of play to get used the intuitive design and menu. Good job Palm and VZW.

switched from moto droid

Apr 16, 2010 by cshipp17

i had to get a new phone after my moto droid had an accident during the penguin game...

price was a factor and i also have some loyalty to Palm, after having one of the old ones years ago...

paid 119 on a new 1 year contract, would have cost alot more for a droid or blackberry

like most people i really liked the android os, but i didnt really care for motorola phone...kind of heavy and awkward

the palm pre plus is the perfect size to me, it feels light but solid, it comes with a nice carry pouch and headphones. whoever designs the packaging and accessories deserves a raise, Palm has some serious style.

the phone works well, easy to navigate, txt, phone calls, internet all fairly easy to use...the only real drawback so far is the apps store - there is no comparison to android

really the best part of the Palm for me is the Hotspot, i had PDAnet on my droid(paid version), but so far it seems the Hotspot is faster and easier to connect

so far the verdict is - i like the phone alot - for $119 and Hotspot its a keeper

i hope Palm rebounds from their sale and merger rumors, they make nice products and its always good to have options

Perfect Fit

If you are not looking for something that is just trendy but instead works well and gives you a ton of options, then this is the phone for you!

Pros:
true multitasking
hotspot service
unobtrusive notification system

terrible!

I have never been a fan of palm products anyway, but being in the wireless industry, I have to give it a shot. I was quickly reminded of why I stick to Blackberry products. It took me 10 minutes to even find how to turn on bluetooth, and by that time, I had about 10 windows that I could NOT figure out how to close. I have never seen a less user friendly phone in my entire career. There are no buttons, nor a touch screen interface that says "close" or "back". There are no buttons at all, except for the microscopic buttons they call a keyboard. And the battery life is awful. I give this phone a "0". Palm should just give up.
